Name: "Jack" John Aldrich

Alias: Eldritch

Age: 17

Height: 5' 10"

Weight: 160 lbs

Hair Color: Dark brown

Eye Color: Green

Nationality: USA

Species: Homo Magi

History

After the war, John Constantine and Zantana finally produced a baby boy, but the fantasy of domestic life only lasted a few months. After many difficult conversations and attempted arrangements, they finally gave the child to an anonymous family named Aldrich to raise the child who they called Jack, because his true parents named him for his father.

Four years ago, the Cult of the Cold Flame discovered the child and killed his foster parents before Constantine and Dr. Fate could save him. Neither Constantine nor Dr. Fate revealed their true parentage of Jack; however, they realized that they could not continue to hide Jack. So, Constantine took Jack as an apprentice to keep him close and protect him.

Since then, Jack has collected the enemies of Constantine who view Jack as leverage. Recently, Jack has started practicing Constantine's bad habits of incessant lying and smoking, so Constantine called in a favor and enrolled Jack into Wayne's School for the Exceptional.

What Jack Doesn't Know

John Constantine is his father

Dr. Fate (Zatanna) is his mother

"Proof that Constantine has screwed fate so often that he's being forced to pay child support."

Personality

Jack idolizes John Constantine, so he currently is very liberal with the truth. He is still on the fence about Constantine's a$$hole personality. While Jack has been on the painful end of it a few times, his idol continues to getaway with it.

Now that he is away from Constantine, he hesitates to refer to his idol, because Constantine has made more enemies than friends. While he can perform magic, his confidence is a thin veneer of teenage angst of wanting to be accepted.

Powers & Abilities

Jack has the natural abilities of both his parents. In addition to the the ability to see and speak to spirits, he inherited demon-tainted blood from his father. And his mother's birthright as a Homo Magi allows him to sense and easily practice magic.

The one condition which allowed his parents to part with their only child was attaching a guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody, to his soul. Ironically, it was this celestial tether that the Cult of the Cold Flame used to identify him.

Review (Fluff):

Zatanna can no longer exit the realm of fate. She is currently Fate's prisoner, he does that sometimes, making him a bigger jerk than both Constantine and Batman combined (which is freaking astounding). Though sometimes there are exceptions on which he lets her out. Seeing that you're related to Constantine and his real power is magical loopholes, I'll allow him to have succeeded in getting Zatanna free for a bit.

Hexing Tech - In Dresden, while they hand wave it often, they are heavily implying that magic aura counters the natural order of certain things. And currently, it disrupts electromagnetic waves. The stronger you are, the more the tech gets screwed up. While Dresden seems afraid of machine failure, it's never happened in the books that I'm aware of. It's all been electronic failure, or Dresden getting attacked. That being said, you have this as a power and not as a complication. This could simply mean that while you were studying under Constantine, you came up with a personal spell that hexes cameras and electronic doors and the like.

Review (Crunch):

I'm getting 46 for your stats, not 42

Variable Descriptor 2 [Magic] <Is this just trope 'elements' (fire, wind, water, stone, lightning, holy, dark energy, force)?

Fixed stats. Can't believe I did that. Checked the math a 1,000 times

Yes, the Variable Descriptor is for the trope elements.

Benefits (Mage) - I pulled from the NetherWar player's guide = "Status 1 (Adept of Note): Many magical beings have heard of the hero or at least whoever trained them in the arts and are more likely to take them seriously as a friend or foe."

Equipment. I got the Smartphone, because it is ubiquitous today. But, the others would magic items that he would develop over time with Artificer. I pulled the magical tracker from Batman builds; instead of radio, it would be tracked by magical senses.
