Gale smiles weakly and gives what she hopes is a reassuring smile to Zee as her SO(?) runs to "eject cargo."

She chuckles and smirks at Terrabit.
"We're quite the crew, aren't we. What's that phrase from the Roaman poet Vigil? 'Et pluribus unum?' From many, one.

I guess what I'm saying is that Equestria wouldn't be as charming without a Detrot, despite what everypony says."

She sips her drink, a faint, mischievous smirk on her face.

Terrabit...mutters a prayer to Luna for Deepwood's quick recovery.

"Oh yes," he nods in agreement, "But then again, I suppose you would know a bit more about Roaman poetry than I would. So I guess I'll take your word for it."

He pulls a face at the thought of someone unironically praising Detrot. "Ugh," he mutters, "Still though, it's still Detrot."

With the free dinner finished up, the team departs to enact their plan.

 

The team van takes the team far out into the boonies, with the target compound out in the hills not far from the sight of binoculars. The road out to the compound is pretty poor; cracked and full of potholes. The good news is that you don't see the mounted guns from this distance. Maybe they're not there? Or maybe they got moved?

The directions to the vet office is in the GPS, in case the team wants to go that route for info on diamond dogs.

 

What is the team wanting to do? Wait for a vehicle to leave the compound? Go on hoof to sneak around? Look up help with getting in touch with diamond dogs?

Gale shrugs.
"Eh, I remember bits and pieces from old lessons when I was younger, no doubt as you remember fragments of Equestrian poetry."
She chuckles with a hoof to her mouth at Terrabit's reaction to Detrot.
"Yes, Detrot is Detrot, but it has its place and its charm is my point."
As Forest returns, she gives Forest a polite wave with a wing before smirking out of the corner of her mouth at Terrabit so only he sees.
"Like some friends, no? Though perhaps my comparison is too harsh: I have only been to the Detrot airport after all."

She follows the rest to their stakeout point.

Later

Gale seems a bit concerned by the lack of visual on the turrets, but then again, her low light vision isn't as good as Forest's.

She looks to Forest when he speaks up.
"Mind if I tag along? Just in case we run into any of the Diamond Dogs. Besides: two pairs of eyes are better than one, even with mine not being as good as yours at night."

He tap his chin thinking and shrug.

"Well, I guess when I naturally screw up, you can unscrew the situation. So why not?"

Gale sighs as Forest finishes his train of thought.
"Well... I'm glad you have that kind of faith in me. Somepony has to I guess." ^^;
As for sneaking, she smirks.
"Oh I have a long history of going places I shouldn't. You're better at it than me from what I've seen though, which is why I feel you should lead while I act as wingmare."

Well, this is a bit of a conundrum. Terrabit cannot imagine that they don't have some defenses to their base. And as fun as it would be to don a pizza delivery hat and show up wearing nothing but it and a smile, he can think of many ways to find out other than potentially becoming their target.

To the group, he says, "Before you do that, would you like me to check the place out on the Net? See if they're connected at all."

Zee looks around the walls of the compound. "I don't see... or wait, maybe... yeah. Dudes, I think I see a magical aura on the wall above the gate. There's something up there, but I can't see what it is. Maybe it's invisible?"

His instincts taught him to preffer to do it alone... but...

 

"...Um. Alright. I guess... it less likely to end up terribly, then me going alone..."

He nod to Terrabit.

"I guess it make sense. If you can do it quickly..."

 

Deepwood scrarch the back of his head at Zee's comment.

Then Zee mentions the magical aura over the base... Gale exhales slowly.
"I see: that was a good catch... thank you Zee."
To anypony with a decent sense motive, it's clear Gale is mentally kicking herself for not considering magical camouflage.

She canters over to Terrabit.
"Would you like some help on the tech end of things?"
If he agrees, Gale will assist his roll.
