NAME

Goyathlay Grosvenor

"Gunny"

CLASS

Gunslinger/Conscript

Ranger

PRIMARY ROLE
Damage Dealer

SECONDARY ROLE
Skill Utility

CREW POSITION

Gunner

Engineer

Appearance

A short, slight young man, he doesn't have much of a presence.  He seems unprepared for the wasteland, wearing simple clothes, and notably underarmed compared to some of his companions.  His posture is very relaxed and casual, but he moves with preternatural grace, and seems to naturally move around without being noticed.

Personality

When Goyathlay joined the Crew, and his companions tried to shorten his difficult name to "Goy" he told everyone bluntly that he was offended, and would not tolerate any shortening of his name, as it was an honor from an ancient lineage.  This made for several awkward days, his new companions avoiding calling him by any name.  In his first fight aboard the tank, the Commander forgot how to pronounce it, and in desperation just shouted "Gunny!" at him.  He answered to it, and it's been his nickname ever since.  In this way, the crew learned that Gunny is a serious person, at heart, very focused on excelling at what he does.  But he is also still a kid, friendly and laid-back, and tries to get along with everyone.  He is very awkward, though, not comfortable around people, sometimes making strange jokes that make sense to nobody but him.  When it comes to dealing with strangers, he prefers to stay inside the tank, and if forced to come out, will make an effort to hide behind the nearest Crew.

Backstory

Goyathlay comes from a long line of hunters.  Henry42 (the family doesn't know why the name has numbers after it) was their progenitor, a guide and big-game hunter in the old world, who was such an amazing outdoorsman he had something called a "channel" where he "posted content" - words the family doesn't really understand, but know were important to him.  He survived the collapse, recording the events that happened - the growing wilderness, the new, impossible creatures, even the Kaiju.  He chronicled things for his own show, assuming civilization would return in short order, but of course it didn’t.

Henry42 was part of the group that originally found The Tank and took it as their own.  He did his part to help rebuild it, and was the first Gunner.  As the Crew travelled, he continued chronicling, but he began to realize it was for posterity, and his own children, and that his "channel" would never come back.  His chronicle is a trove of tiny squares, called “SD Drives”, and these, along with the sacred artifact, the “Solar Powered Gopro” have become heirlooms, passed down through the generations, along with a strange song that explains how to use them, as well as how to access the information using the other ancient artifact, called the "SD Card Reader".  Now, 100 years later, the family trove is one of the greatest (though mostly unknown) repositories of knowledge about the wildlife and geography of the wasteland.  Henry42 met and fell in love with a woman who was descended from the people who were native to this land, from the time before the cities that now lay in ruins, and they built a home that could protect many relations and many generations.  They all live together, now, in a hidden and fortified compound that's always growing, near one of the wildest and most dangerous parts of the wasteland, where they hone their hunting skills, learn everything they can about the new world, and safeguard the knowledge.

Goyathlay is the 8th person in the family to receive the “Solar Powered GoPro”, after memorizing the contents of the “SD Drives”, which most of the family does in their childhood, and then proving himself as a hunter, by going out and killing a monster on his own.  His older brother, Cochise, previously part of The Crew, found someone to start a family with.  According to the family’s tradition, trials were then held among the young adult men and women of the family, a contest of hunting prowess, the prize a spot on the crew and the honor of keeping of the family artifact.  Now, Goyathlay is responsible for the "Solar Powered Gopro", and to be hunter and guide for The Crew.  The “Blank SD Drives”, once so numerous they could not be counted, have dwindled and dwindled, and now there are but a handful left.  As the Blank Drives dwindled, so did the family’s knowledge grow, so Goyathlay is expected to be very conservative with them, only recording things that have never been seen or heard of before.

Hey ah, there's a couple issues with your mechanics, general ideas work but the holes are in places that might be important for your build.

You can only use Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma as your practitioner modifiers (these are from Conscript's options, Adventurer only allows Wisdom), so keying your talents off of Dexterity wouldn't be something you can do. Sorry if this screws hard with your ability scores, I've had problems adjusting them with my characters sometimes and hope this goes smoothly for you.

You seemed to have gotten the Incredible SpecializationIncredible Specialization (Ex) (see text)
For every 2 Oath points you spend on this Oath boon, you are treated as having one additional specialization point which you can spend on conscript or incanter specializations. You must have levels in the conscript or incanter class to select specializations from the class, and you may spend up to 4 Oath points on this Oath boon.
oath boon mixed up, it costs 2 Oath points for 1 specialization point, so with 4 points spent you'd only get 2 in specializations, not 8. You can trade out half your conscript bonus talents for an extra Sphere Specialization though, so you can nab both Equipment and Sniper with uh, 4 points worth of specializations leftover. Here's the MechanicsSpecial: The conscript may buy an additional sphere specialization by trading away the bonus talents granted at 1st, 5th, 9th, 13th, and 17th level. Sphere specializations bought in this manner are slightly delayed however; the conscript gains the bonus talent and effective base attack bonus or HD increase at 2nd level, the ability normally gained at 3rd level at 4th level, and the ability normally gained at 8th level at 9th level..

For talents, the Sphere specialization ability gives you a bonus talent in your chosen spheres, so you'd get an extra Sniper and Equipment talent. Can pretend your 9th sniper talent comes from this, so you can invest it in another sphere if that's more important, though if you're getting both I guess you're losing the conscript's bonus talents anyways.
