It crashes into the fire, burning itself in the process but also showering the party with hot coals and cinder. Ranulf waits until the distance is correct and hurls a dagger at the shaggy hulk as it careens towards them. It raises the mighty cudgel and brings it crashing towards the great white bear in it's path. OOCRanulf's ready goes off. Goran is targeted by a charge attack everyone must make a reflex save DC 10 or be Dazed for a round. "The creature is unable to act normally. A dazed creature can take no actions, but has no penalty to AC. A dazed condition typically lasts 1 round." The terrible creature crashing into Goran's bear-shape does little to impede him, but the scattered flame gives him an idea. Jumping through the scattered flames behind the creature's massive flanks, he grabs his other axe from his beltloop and attempts to thread the needle through the flames on the ground, hoping that his quick feet leave him unmarred by Loptr's gift. The decision is made to press on to follow the tracks of the beast men further into the dark forest. Before long the trail leads to the entrance to a subterranean ruin. It appears to be ancient and in extreme disrepair. The stonework that is still discernible does not seem to resemble the craft of the Norsemen of Jarnheim. Out or caution the warriors quietly observe the entrance for a time but are unable to detect any activity though there seems to be a faint flicker of light emanating from within. There is a strange hum and pulse in the air, or perhaps it is in their minds. It is disquieting and leave the warriors with aching heads and nauseous bowels.
