The Good, the Bad, and the Unjustly

Greetings, Knaves!

It's time for your weekly peek at the campaign progress!

I had a busy week with work and family, but I spent some time working on the format for the Compendium. It was getting too long for my liking (my scrolling finger was getting overworked) 🐭

I also started on the Companies and Bounty Brothers section of the Compendium. Only now it is called Knaves and Kingdom Justice. These posts will help explain all the good and bad of being a Knave.

I would have gotten more done, but I started tweaking some things and adding new stuff. I've started to notice that the Brancalonia setting has some content that does not balance with the core rules. If you see anything in the Compendium that seems wildly off - whether it's over or underpowered, or the cost doesn't make sense - let me know πŸ‘

That's all for nowΒ πŸ‘‹

Until next time...

For the bounty!

Curiosity DM, way before we were allowed to make our knaves I was looking over the gifted race and thought I read over something about them that would allow them to expand their class spell lists to include all spells of a certain type of spell, like Evocation which attracted a magic lover like me. However since being able to make our characters the ability listed by the gifted would only give them one cantrip and one spell of the selected type of spell and then nothing else. It showed that the entry was edited in Mid July however when I tried to access the revision history of the post, I got an error saying to contact an admin. Figuring it's some sort of permission lock I decided not to press it and just went with the idea of the one I saw now as it seemed a little more balanced than allowing a whole list of spells that would overpower certain classes if linked together.

Now that you brought it up in this post I got to question on whether or not you saw this gifted race and nerfed them in Mid July to balance with the core rules.

@SMARTAgentKCΒ The Magical Influence trait for Gifted is directly from the book. I didn't make any changes there.

The Magical Resonance trait is the one I tweaked. The original version is:

"At the end of a short rest, you can choose to regain a 1st level spell slot."

This is only useful if a Gifted has a class that has spell slots. It punishes a Gifted knave for being any other class.

That's why I changed it to its current version:

"At the end of a short rest, you can choose to regain a 1st level spell slot or one more use of your Magical Influence cantrip or 1st level spell."

Also, I'm getting the same error when trying to view the editing history, so I'll bring that up to the MW devs.
