About This Game

Welcome to Night City during the time of the Red!

Game System

Cyberpunk
  1. What's new in this game
  2. This game seems to be dead.  I am porting over my CP Red game from OGMW and looking for new players, if anyone is interested.  It is Night City Noir.   And if @Chaos Emerald returns and gets this game going, I am still interested in playing.
  3. @Chaos Emerald are you still running this game?
  4. Here also.  Just sort of finished an international move, but we're getting settled into the new home alright.
  5. Good here, now at least. Been a rough/busy couple of weeks but calmed down a bit now. Getting to take wife to see Train, Jewel, Blues Traveler and someone else I haven't heard of in concert tonight. We've both been dying to see Train, so it's capping off a good weekend. It's an outdoor auditorium though, so still going to be 90 degrees at 7 pm which we're not looking forward to.. lol
  6. I'm good, currently enjoying a nice vacation, I'll be flying back home in 2 days.
  7. So whilst we wait, and avoid melting in the heat, how are we all?
  8. Merde Choom its been a Zut week, I got drunk with some stranger and some young punks stole my SMG and my deck, not sure they weren't in on it, Enculé de ta mere! All I got left is my crossbow from when I was a kid, and my first Deck that I had back in storage. You got bunch of small gigs I can do quick, Je m’en fiche? Not looking to go big until I got my gear situated again, unless you will front me a Heavy SMG, my first deck might not have a lot of slots but I do have some heavy programs on it.
  9. In Game/In character roleplays
  10. Background Rosie never knew her father, apparently, a low-level executive at Arasaka, as soon as he discovered her mother, Rani Khan, was pregnant. With no one to support them, she ended up in one of Night Cities' combat zone having to live by her own wits. Her child helped where they could and despite being relatively normal seemed to have a prevalence for violence, as comfortable with harm as they were uncomfortable in their own body.   Using this prevalence for violence they scrimped and saved until they had enough money to achieve what they wanted, and when they went under the knife for their cyberwear they also paid to have their body biosculted into the person they wanted to be. Reinventing themselves the newly reborn Rosaline Khan became Red Rosie a hitwoman for hire. She chose the identity of Red Rosie to throw people off as who she could be, being underestimated often allowed her to get closer to targets than she normally be able to previously.   With some success, and hence eddies, she's been able to live the kind of life she dreamed of when she was younger, she wants to move up in station but not to a corporate lifestyle, she's heard enough horror stories from her mother... Apartment Her apartment is a riot of color, a subtle mix of Western and Indian styles, and for someone so professional it is quite a mess. She has a weakness for kitchen appliances and has a number of contraptions to prepare and cook and a wide variety of foods and drinks. She uses this to pass herself off a review blogger for such devices, luckily no one seems to have looked up her rather terrible efforts. Occasionally she leaves the older devices outside for a reasonable price, knowing no one would accept a free gift in a place like Royal View.   Whilst she a, laxed, Muslim, she keeps a little shrine to Yellamma.
  11. @Chaos Emerald I think my character is all done. I just want to apologise for the lack of dice rolls. Usually when I make a character I write everything down in some Myth Weavers personal notes first. I did that for this character as well and when I was doing that I used random.org rolls for my lifepath and stats, not realising that I should do that on my post here instead, sorry for that. If you want me to roll my stats again here, then that is no problem and I'll do that tomorrow.
  12. The Backstory     Jason wasn't surprised that the new shrink was interested in his colleague. He imagined that for a psychiatrist someone like Idris was pretty interesting. Jason and Michael, the shrink, had agreed to meet up in a bar in the vicinity of their departments police station to talk about Idris. Once the men had gone through the formalities and both had a drink, Jason began his story. "I imagine that everyone on our department you've asked about Idris so far has described him as a freak. People tend to get a lot of things wrong about him, but when they call Idris a freak, they're not wrong about that." Jason paused for a moment, taking a sip of his drink before continuing. "The guy is cold. And I don't mean that he is callous or something. I mean no empathy, no remorse, type of cold. Most of the time the guy barely even shows any emotion." Jason paused again, thinking about what he wanted to say next. "I think the lack of empathy and emotion is inherent to Idris. But a lot of his characteristics are calculated choices as well, meant to manipulate the way people view him. Idris both talks and moves quite slowly and delibaretly. When you see him move around, or hear him talk, combined with the way that he tends to dress himself, it's very easy to think of him as a daft and harmless guy, but that is simply what he wants you to think. Manipulating the way others see him and feel about him is something he is pretty good at. His lack of empathy and emotion isn't something he can hide very well, but generally he tries to not freak people out too much. However, he is also great at using that same lack of empathy and emotion to make people very uncomfortable, as a means to put pressure on them." Once Jason had finished his description of Idris he downed the rest of his drink. Michael used the pause to ask his first question. "How much do you know about Idris' past?" Jason responded quickly. "Not much more then there is in his file. The guy seems to have been the son of a pretty successful Arabic exec, but his entire family got wiped out. Something to do with a family feud. He signed up as a lawman not too long after that and he's been working here ever since he completed his training. Idris isn't a very talkative guy to begin with and he's only talked about his past with me a handful of times." Michael gave Jason an understanding nod, then asked his next question. "You've worked with Idris more then anyone else on the department. Most people just see him as a psychopathic killer, but I was wondering what your opinion of him was." Jason let out a sigh at Michael's question. He had expected the shrink to ask a question like that, but it didn't make it any easier to answer. "P is definitely a weird and sometimes pretty creepy guy, there's no denying that. And his practice of flatlining the main suspect instead of arresting them once he has solved a case is pretty unethical, sure. He definitely isn't a good guy, but by this ****ed up worlds standards, I don't think he is a bad guy either. There are a lot of people out there who do things that are far worse then killing crooked cops." Michael gave Jason another understanding nod once he had finished his answer. "Alright, I have one last question, then I'll have to go. Why exactly does Idris work at internal affairs? It isn't a very popular position, and it is very rare to see someone working there as long as P has. There must be some reason for that." As Michael asked his question Jason pulled a small memory chip out of his pocket. "Idris is pretty much obsessed with working internal affairs. In a way you could see it has is own strange way of taking it to the edge. You need a lot of balls to piss of as much people as he does on a daily basis. I'm honestly surprised that all his work busting crooked cops hasn't gotten him killed yet. Why he is so obsessed with it, I can't really explain though. However, on this memory chip is a video recording of a conversation between Idris and one of his former suspects. I think it gives some interesting insights into his motives." As Jason finished his sentence he slid the memory chip across the bar, towards Michael. After that, the two men said their goodbyes and went on their way. A few days later Michael found himself with a free afternoon. Having nothing better to do he decided to watch the video that Jason had given him. He inserted the memory chip into his TV and the video automtically began to play. It seemed to be a recording of a sureveillance camera in the living room of a suburban home. The video began with Idris entering the living room. He slowly scanned the room, then strolled over to a chair and took a seat. He pulled out a pistol and made sure there was a round in the chamber, then blankly started out one of the windows, his face not showing any sort of emotion. The next hour or so of the recording was sped up, as nothing happened. After a while, the door opened again. This time revailing a Latin American lawman in uniform, probably returning home from his shift. The lawman led out a yelp when he spotted Idris already sitting in his living room. Idris greeted the man in a low, monotone voice that was as devoid of emotion as his facial expression, not paying any attention to the mans shock at seeing Idris in his living room. "Good evening Sanchez." "How the hell did you get in here?" Sanchez asked Idris in a shaky voice. "I got some help." Idris answered. When Sanchez replied the uneasiness in his voice had partly made way for anger. "Who would ever help a psychopath like you?" As Idris heard Sanchez's response, a very slight and somewhat evil smile curled around his lips, although his voice remained as monotone and emotionless as it was before. "You would be surprised." "So, what are you here for? Have you finally come to flatline me, you sadistic ****?" Whatever Sanchez hoped to achieve with his growing anger and insults, it didn't work, as Idris remained completely unfazed. "No. First we are going to talk. Sit down." With a gun pointed at him there was little Sanchez could do and he sat down in the chair opposite of the one Idris was sitting in. "Have you ever wondered why I became a lawman?" Idris asked Sanchez. The respone of Sanchez was snappy and angry. "Because you want to kill people without having to face any consequence for it." For the first time since the conversation started Idris showed some signs of emotion. He talked a little quicker and his voice was somewhat raised and had slight pang of anger. "If I wanted to kill people I would have become a hitman. That would allow me to kill far more people and would pay much better then being a lawman." The differences were subtle, but enough to scare Sanchez into silence. When Idris continued talking he did so in his usual manner, but the hint of anger in his voice remained. "I became a lawman because I like to hunt down people like you. We live in a chaotic, unfair world. Everytime you step foot outside of your door there are a dozens of dumb ways to do die that you have no influence over. Some people accept the chaotic nature of our world, others try to create some semblence of order in that chaos, however futile that might be. And then there are people like you, dirty cops and corrupt politicians, who think they are immune to that chaos. I like to remind people like you how woefully wrong they are." As Sanchez realised that Idris was indeed here to kill him his face began to turn pale, and the anger in his voice turned into fear. "Look, man, you don't have to do this. I know people, we can arrange something." Sanchez pleaded to Idris. "You don't have to do this." P repeated the words of Sanchez in a mocking tone. When he continued, his mocking tone turned into one of faint annoyance instead. "You people always say the same thing. What difference does it make whether or not I have to do this. You did not have to accept those bribes either, but you did so anyways." Sanchez stammered as he tried to come up with a reply, but he was interrupted by three quick bangs.
