  1. What's new in this game
  2. 👏 great conclusion! Thanks for wrapping things up so nicely. I fear for Jeela's future 😅 It happens, but I'm really grateful for you sticking with it as well. I had a great time and, all things considered, I think we got a pretty good story out of it. If you run something again that has room for me to apply, I'd be more than happy to join.
  3. Okay folks, we've done it. I wrapped up our story officially, but please feel free to give a goodbye RP or two with each other. You did it! We beat a one-shot! Thank you for sticking with me. Between taking on probably too many projects, starting a new full-time job, and winter depression, I just haven't been the best GM lately. I know you've said you had fun, but I still feel like I could've done more or been better. That's me, harshest critic and tons of introspection. Anyways, this really does mean a lot to me. Thank you again, you guys rock! I'll let you know if I ever get my energy back up to run another one-shot of something. I'll see you around the 'Weave my friends.
  4. The Shipyard Vou was quick with his hands, and even faster when slicing a door open. Nowhere seemed to be off-limits to him, least of all this ship. He seemed to make it look like a breeze until he touched the wrong node and got a nasty shock. His fingers went numb and he dropped his tools several times. The Trandoshan pushed his way inside the Consular-class cruiser with Prane over his shoulder. [ that won't display properly.] The frigate was long but not overly roomy; Kardassk found the ceilings just a bit too close for comfort. He could stand at full height, but only just. Even simple walking required him to duck a little. The entrance to the ship was in the center, with the cockpit and quarters to the left and much of the inner workings of the ship to the right. The lizard lumbered left and found labels for "salon pods" which he knew would be perfect. Each pod was designed as a personal escape pod but with a luxurious makeover; they would often favored by diplomats. It would be a simple matter to disable the pod's ability to launch from the inside before shoving Prane in and locking the door. As the Ithorian pressed his way into the ship he saw Kardassk's temporary prison and just further ahead he could see the cockpit. Leftover belongings from the previous owner cluttered the dashboard. Printed pictures of a couple in various idyllic scenes, a half-eaten carton of flavored noodles, a holdout pistol and extra clip. It seemed this frigate had a history, but Vou didn't have time for that. The Empire wouldn't wait... wouldn't care. After shaking his hands about for several minutes, the feeling finally came back to his fingers. Kardassk sat in the co-pilot's chair next to the new captain who quickly sliced into the controls and bypassed the lock. Looking through the glass they two could see a fierce battle of lights playing out dead-ahead. OOC Vou gets the ship open and unlocked, but the Problem is he got a jolt (1 damage) and the previous owners are actually nice people. Terminal Blaster fire filled the air as Jeela allowed the Force to flow through her like a raw, hot arid wind. She flew through the air bringing both lightsabers down with furious motions. The stormtroopers fired as quickly as they could, catching the Jedi's limbs here or there. Hot, searing pain accompanied each clumsy maneuver or overconfident strike--but it didn't matter. The Force filled the Jedi with power, guiding her blade into her foes over and over. Jeela's movements increased in speed until she was a blur. As the two blades found their way into the torso of the officer, another three squads of stormtroopers emerged from where the others had come previously. They ran directly toward Jeela, firing their weapons, unbeknownst of the frigate aimed directly at them just as Kardassk pointed out to Vou the controls for the weapons systems. Jeela wasn't Jeela in that moment, instead giving herself over to the Force momentarily. She was unaware of the piles of body parts she'd left behind through needless maiming strikes. There was a distracting barrage of hot plasma aimed in her direction that kept the Force burning in her. She walked forward, possessed, knocking bolts aside with ease, though some got through her defenses. Her clothing became ripped and ragged from the close-calls and hits, even starting small fires along her cloak before they would burn out and leave smoke trails in her wake. The Jedi began to struggle deflecting all the shots as the Imperials encroached. Vou engaged the turbo lasers, at least distracting the enemy while he recalibrated another series of shots. But by then Jeela had brutally disassembled half of the forces against her. Kardassk grasped the controls next, firing with the new trajectory and taking out a large chunk of troopers. Their bodies vaporized in heat where caught in the blast. It was over and the Force faded away from the Jedi like a hot vapor on a chilly morning. Jeela came back to her senses and ran toward the ship. Did she dare look behind her at what carnage she'd wrought? Was this the power of the Dark Side? OOC Jeela manages to fight off her foes but the Problem is she gives in to the Dark Side. She brutalizes the enemy and values offense over defense, taking 3 damage in the process. But since she gave in to the Dark Side, it's also considered a Critical. So you end up wiping out the entire lot! That's... a lot of dead people (like 20ish). The Cruiser Reaching the ship just as Vou figured out how to fire up the engines, Jeela went up the ramp and headed toward the cockpit. More stormtroopers poured onto the scene as it became apparent the team was being hunted. Blaster fire pinged harmlessly off the shields as the ship lurched upward and started to turn toward an exit trajectory. A matter of minutes later would find the trio breaking out of the atmosphere of Bespin, four TIE-fighters in hot pursuit. But it was too late and the team too good at their job, evading shots while determining hyperjump calculations. Several shots rocked the ship as bolts hit the shields just before engaging the jump into hyperspace. The stars stretched out to infinity in the blink of an eye followed by the familiar lurch forward. And so the team of ragtag, would-be rebels managed to escape. Or at least, most of them. K8's fate was unknown, but she was always good at being useful. She'd likely be fine and possibly seek a way off planet. But that's a story for another time...
  5. Oh gods i forgot about this. I'm so sorry. No this is on me. I got sidetracked from all my games over the holidays. I'll try to wrap the game up tonight with an ending post.
  6. anything you need from us on this? Seemed like we were just a post or two from this being a wrapped and successful one-shot :D
  7. I don't think so. I can see how events would have led to that (and hopefully that reflects in my last post). Now that she has opened up to the force she will need to learn how to control it.
  8. Hopefully my use of the dark side wasn't too heavy handed. I never get a chance to really do stuff with it.
  9. Human Jedi, Level 1 Vitality: 13 / 13 Jeela had opened herself up to the force, but without enough training, she hasn't been prepared for what could come of her desire to act Justice. The word blares in Jeela's head like a siren. Justice for the Jedi. She leaps at the remaining troopers. Justice for master Vidarr. She swings her blade. Justice by actionpain.
  10. OOC Oh, that does complicate things a bit. Will go edit my post. I guess just ignore the roll or turn it into a roll to gain access to the ship.
  11. OOC Jeela is only up against 3 troopers. Also she is something like 200 or more feet away down a kind of terminal tunnel so firing from your position is a guaranteed miss.
  12. Ithorian Scoundrel, Level 1 Vitality: 13 / 13 I hope Jeela can handle the rest of those troopers. Hate leaving her in that situation, but if we don't get access to a ship we are all going to be in a lot of trouble when more troopers come poring in to see what happened to the last group. Vou runs for the ship and then starts fiddling with the access panel trying to get the door to the ship open. OOCUses Presence to try to confuse and misdirect the troopers.
  13. Kardassk Attributes: Menace +2, Daring +0, Guile +0, Acuity +1, Presence +1, Spirit +2 Vitality: 11/14 Kardassk picked Prane up and threw him over his shoulder, ignoring the pain. He'd taken far worse back on Trandosha. "Vou, let us get to the ship and remove ourselves from this location." Once they arrived at the ship, Kardassk searched for a room he could put Prane in and then lock him in.
  14. Near the Shipyard Vou's sudden--and violently effective--blaster shot went through the stormtrooper nearest him. The shot went through and carried his body down onto his back, legs flopping around. Vou dropped to the ground not expecting the Trandoshan to go primal on the other trooper. Kardassk reached down to grab the stormtrooper's shoulder, then partially knelt down to grab his opposite side's leg. As he lifted the other man off the ground, the trooper started firing his blaster wildly toward the Trandoshan. Despite the terrible accuracy a few shots landed on the lizard's body as he took two bounding steps and launched the man into the air. He sailed for a few seconds before disappearing into a nearby maintenance access hole left suspiciously open. He on his way down. The way to the shipyard was free again, with Vou quickly getting his bearings and spotting their ride easily. OOC So, we'll still do the throw but the Problem is you'll take a counterattack in the process. Damage Vou and Kardassk can make it to the ship now and prep it for launch. Employee Entrance, Terminal The turrets that were left started firing on the squad as they approached, forcing them to the walls for cover behind bulkheads. Jeela advanced on the squad as they were distracted, igniting both blades and feeling their thrum flow into her. She was done running and was finally taking the fight to the enemy. A mere day ago might have found the Jedi making a different decision. What was not yet evident to the young woman was that she was feeling the seduction of the Dark Side. Without realizing she started beaming with pride in her decision--a feeling of righteous retribution. Only, at its core, that sensation would ask for more. Plunging her blades into one of the bulkheads then pulling them free, Jeela killed the officer and one of the four troopers. Only--no--that wasn't right... Jeela shook her head as she looked down to see the two men cut into pieces due to the furious attack she'd just unleashed. But--wait, when did that happen? The turrets suddenly ran dry, clicking multiple times before powering off. The sizzle off the red-hot barrels was finally audible. The stormtroopers turned to look at the carnage--and loss of their commanding officer--and opened fire. "JEDI!" one of them tried to yell through their helmet mic. OOC Alright the attack goes off but the Problem is you blackout for a moment and turn to the Dark Side (this is considered Disturbing Their Sensibilities in the list). The memories will slowly come back--and likely haunt her. Essentially, the attack is too effective, dealing double damage on mooks. They were butchered. Now you have three stormtroopers all firing on you out of fear. You can feel it like the rush of a high about to come on. You'd just need to push it a little to go over the edge and win. What do you do?
  15. Human Jedi, Level 1 Vitality: 13 / 13 Talking, her go-to, had failed. Killing these soldiers would do her no good, especially not after her battle with the inquisitor. And yet, she would not skulk around in the shadows like the pest the empire wanted her to view herself as. From what she had seen in the city, these men were not merely good people following bad orders. They liked what they did. They must be opposed. From here on out, she intended to do just that. From her place of light concealment, she waited to hear the blast of the turrets. Damaged from the fight, and nearly drained of power, they let loose little more than a whine and sputter, but it was enough to pull the trooper's attention. Rushing from her hiding place, twin saber blades flashed out - royal yellow and violent red.
  16. They have no targets in range just yet. If the squad reaches your area they'll have to deal with them but I'm thinking they'll run out of juice here in a second. They've been firing for a couple minutes now. It's all up to you how you want to deal with it. If you wait until they are closer and go on the offensive, you can take a +1 while they are distracted but the last of the turret fire. Or you can just try to sneak away right now.
  17. Yes. I would like to grab and throw the stormtrooper into something like that for fun.
  18. OOC: Works for me. I updated my previous post with the critical hit.
  19. Are the turrets doing anything, or should I disregard them and just go on the offensive?
  20. OOC Let's use your first roll. In situations like this, I think the system appreciates singular rolls. Your Precise can be represented by maybe turning around to gawk at the troopers running away and then shooting at the guy when he's not looking? Do you want to say that was a Menace roll to grab and throw the guy into a work-zone kind of area that has an open maintenance tunnel or something? We'll do one more exchange (squad advancing, then Jeela in hiding) before the squad finds you. Do with that what you will. Healing was a good idea!
  21. Oh. Subtlety is sometimes lost on me, sorry 🤔. You know what, Star Wars is a dangerous place. And this system is about yes-and. So, yes, there's a dangerous port somewhere nearby. Maybe a broken pipe or a maintenance hole or something.
  22. Kardassk Attributes: Menace +2, Daring +0, Guile +0, Acuity +1, Presence +1, Spirit +2 Vitality: 14/14 "Your devotion to duty is admirable. Unfortunately, you have made a grave calculation. You're in my way." Kardassk pulled out his blaster and fired point blank at the stormtrooper.
  23. Pooh. I was gonna try to shove a stormtrooper down an exhaust port for a Wilhelm scream. Oh, well. Blaster bolt it is.
  24. Unfortunately not up here. You're on the very top level of Cloud City which is reserved for the best, nicest, most luxurious stuff around. Its a tourist trap combined with high rollers area. Almost everything up here has a railing or safety feature so nobody gets sued lol. There might be some dangerous mechanisms closer to the ships though.
  25. There wouldn't happen to be, like, an open exhaust shaft leading to a long fall with no railings around it nearby, would there?
