  1. Just to be clear ... You have to go back to AD&D at least for this to be true. 3.x/pf, you are your abilities. I'm not sure if that's true for AD&D, I know it is for 3.x. So your modem systems start at least 23 years ago. (I'm not objecting per se. You're just making me feel young again.)
  2. PF1e seems more popular here than I expected. But the last few weeks all the game adverts have been for custom settings. Is there much interest around here in just running a good ol, 25 point buy, relaxed run of an adventure path or two? I discovered APs with Owlcat's Wrath of the Righteous, and my discord Hell's Rebels campaign is on hiatus. Curious if people ever run stuff like that around here.
  3. One player rolling really good stats is the same thing as a player rolling really bad. If the dice gods make one character superior, it automatically makes everyone else inferior. Ability scores are actually the only place I feel everyone needs to start on a level playing field, because everything else is the player's choice. I like systems that allow for a lot of customization and optimization, balance is a trap. For your build to matter, it has to have the potential to improve or degrade your ability. But dice rolls are random. There will if he no randomness in the strength of a build.
  4. I noticed in the game advertisments for PF1e games, most of them use rolls to determine ability scores. I largely thought this was a thing of the past so it surprises me -- what do most of you prefer using? Why? (Personally -- I don't like them. I prefer to put every player on a level playing field and eliminate the randomness as much as possible. I also prefer higher point buys, i like more heroic player totals. For PF1e, the 25 point buy is the lowest I'd go -- not that I've ever gone higher either.)
  5. I've played a lot of different games, and been dragged into stuff I didn't enjoy recently. There's only one thing I currently have an interest in playing, and only as a player: PF1e.
  6. I love one-on-one games. Though I'm looking for pathfinder 1e/classical fantasy right now.
  7. Really?

Come on, Taly. You have got to be kidding me. Are you somehow above criticism? "No, that isn't a personal attack" isn't actually an explanation as to why it doesn't count as one. I expect that shit from DFK - he's pretty power mad as a mod. But you? it's beneath you.
