  1. His allies had chosen a target and so Kal committed to it. Was it right? Only time would tell. His whip flicks forward through the chaos and clutter of the room and wraps around the foot of the monkey, attempting to pull it out from under itself, hopefully tripping the clamoring monkey.

His face is rough with the stubble of a beard not yet grown. Seeing as only nobles in Taldor are allowed to grow facial hair, it stands to reason he would want to grow it to display his status. Its not the only thing he wishes to grow out it seems seeing as his hair is middle length and is almost constantly moving when he does. Q&A Who are you and where are you from? What do/did you do there? Kall sits there with his head cocked and resting in his hand. His hand falls into his lap and he looks this large dwarf in the eyes for a moment before speaking, "Who am I? I know this isn't Oppara but do you live under a rock?" He sighs before continuing. "I am Kallahan Ieramus, fifth son of the lord of Aylen's Peak. I am a teller of tales, a weaver of words! Some may call me a simple bard but know that I am much more than that! A playwright, a scholar, and an actor in my own right." He crosses his arms after his description with a smirk across his face. What do you know of Heldren? What does Heldren know of you? "What do you want to know about that podunk?" Looking at the dwarf Kall sees that he still is waiting for an answer. Sighing he continues. "Father always goes on about the strategic importance of the town but between you and me?" He leans in closer to the dwarf before exclaiming with his hands in the air. "They have almost no appreciation for the arts! Obviously they would know very little about me outside of who I am in relation to my father. I'm only here because father requested me to be." I've heard and seen the early winter in Heldren. What do you think of it? A quizzical look comes over his face. "I imagine that the winters in Heldren aren't too unsimilar to the ones in Aylen's Peak. If so, the winter is more of a bother than anything. Of course it is rare that I do not have ample supplies to keep warm." Would you consider yourself an adventurer? A mercenary? A treasure hunter? If none of those things, then what? "Whats the point in me answering your questions if you aren't going to listen? Teller of tales, weaver of wor..." He trails off for a moment as he stares at the tall dwarf's blank expression. "Look, you can just call me a bard if it suits you better." The news of a noblewoman being kidnapped is a terrifying occurrence in such a small village. What terrifies you? His hand falls to the table with an audible thump while his eyes seem to burn with a bit of resentment at the suggestion that Taldor can't protect its own nobles. "First off the very best of Taldor are looking for this woman, no reason for any panic. Plus, the noblewoman is an independent person, who knows if shes actually missing or just strung out from a night out. But that doesn't terrify me and you want to know what does. Hmm..." He sits there for a moment in thought. "I suppose sitting through a terribly droll play out of respect for the playwright. Can't even fall asleep! Just think of the implications that would lead to." What does it take for you to consider a stranger an ally? A friend? An enemy? "Odd sort of questions you are asking here. If someone is going to bother me it is more than likely that they want something. Being the son of a Lord tends to amplify that so when it comes to strangers I prefer to err on the side of caution. Although I do rather enjoy a quality conversation when it comes to the arts, thats probably the best way to gain my favor." Time for some hypotheticals. As you're walking through town, you take a wrong turn into a small and quiet side street. You hear a rustle behind and suddenly someone is behind you. Before they can say or do anything, what do you do? "Why I trip them of course and then ask him what business they have with me." He pats his trust bullwhip at his side. "Can never be too cautious with the common folk. They might have this grand idea that they can get a hefty ransom for me." He blows air out of his mouth in an amused fashion before contiuning. "If they are a friend, I'll promptly appologize and help them up. If they had an ill intention, they will find themselves at a disadvantage and me a not so easy target." Now let's twist that question. Instead of a small side street, you turn onto the market's main thoroughfare. Same person, but now this woman has an arm around your shoulder and is acting like your best friend. Kall smirks as this question rolls off of the dwarf's tongue. "Now this is a situation that happens quite more frequently than you think. I never mind some quality company of the fairer sex. I would however try to question her about the sudden display of affection she is showing me and why. Perhaps I'm saving her from a suitor who can't understand what no means, or maybe she is after my purse with its pittance of silver and copper. As long as she isn't hostile I need not be either."

Spinning around the glass clatters to the floor where Harry once stood. A couple shots rang out in the warehouse, nothing hitting their mark. Quickly moving up behind Bang he too brings his pistol up and aims at the cyberdog. Pulling the trigger he realizes the safety is still on, a quick second later and a third loud bang rings out as a bullet hits the cyberdog solidly in the flank. Rookie mistakes like that would get them killed.

The lack of movement was a little unnerving while they waited for Phantom's signal. He looks up into the windows of the office for any movement. Seems so close but yet getting there was so far away.

This was the calm before the storm, but at least they knew about what was coming unlike the poor sod. "Should we leave the door open? Wouldn't want to end up like our new friend there, would we?" At the Warehouse "Ideally the last group disabled everything on the way in but best be safe to double check." He rustles through a bag he had with him and starts to pull out various medical supplies that hopefully would not be needed. "If things go south I have some emergency medical supplies on me. Let me know if you need any help and I'll do my best to patch you up. If I get hit?" He chuckles at the thought. "Just do your best with what I have here." Killing Cormac obviously is what the Johnson wanted and while Wesley wasn't one to actively try to kill people, you get used to death growing up how he did. Pointing his thumb towards Phatom before speaking, "To piggy back off what she is saying... This isn't going to put us on the Don's bad side now is it? Also how long ago was the other team in this warehouse?" He starts to rattle off questions that haven't been asked yet. "When you say a lot more men were there than supposed to be, how many are we talking? Any access you can grant us that we wouldn't have otherwise? Don't hold back on us now, mess needs cleaning up and we need all the cards you can give us." So many questions to ask but they seemed to be short on time. The job had a couple red flags but what job didn't? As long as it paid well he was in.

They tend to associate with criminals, gangs, and other shady individuals, which just so happens to align with my circles. Our last encounter involved a mutual job that didn't quite go as planned, leading to complications for both of us. However, I managed to come through for them in a crucial way, and as a result, they have offered their assistance in smuggling either me or my goods in and out of various places. It's a complex relationship built on trust and reciprocity within a world of shadows and intrigue. John Cooper, Cyberdoc (Acquaintance) I've recently crossed paths with an intriguing acquaintance, a black market cyber doc. Their usual company consists of other skilled professionals, such as docs, techs, hackers, and individuals with specialized expertise. We met about a month ago during a job where I found myself on the opposite side of someone they happened to hate. I happened to kill the person they hated and we agreed to a cease-fire. Despite our initial encounter's adversarial nature, they seem to believe in my potential for success. As a gesture of goodwill or perhaps a strategic alliance, they've offered to provide me with their cyberdoc skills, ready to patch me up or assist with any cyberware-related work I may require. It's a unique and potentially beneficial connection within the underground world of cyber professionals. BACKGROUND In the neon-soaked, dystopian underbelly of Seattle, where cybernetic enhancements and corporate greed reign supreme, there exists a charismatic and resourceful individual known as Wesley "Doc" Valentine. Born into the slums of this cyberpunk sprawl, Wesley's early life was a constant struggle for survival, and it was here that he honed his street-smart wit and learned to navigate the treacherous alleyways of the shadowrun world. Wesley's life took a drastic turn when he decided to gamble on a different path. Fascinated by the world of cyberware enhancements and the allure of quick cash, he ventured into the underground world of illegal cybernetic surgery. Wesley had always been good with his hands, and it didn't take long for him to pick up the skills necessary to become a cyberdoc. With a gifted touch and an innate understanding of the human-machine interface, he quickly became sought after by those who needed their enhancements installed or repaired discreetly. However, the allure of cyberware came with a hefty price tag, and Wesley wasn't one to resist temptation. He soon found himself accumulating a massive debt, nearly $400,000 worth of it, as he upgraded his own body with the latest and greatest cybernetic enhancements. These enhancements, while enhancing his skills and abilities, also served as a constant reminder of the financial shackles that bound him. What set Wesley apart from the rest of the shadowrunners was his uncanny ability to talk his way out of danger. His charisma was his greatest weapon, and he used it to its fullest advantage. Whether it was negotiating with a desperate client, sweet-talking his way past corporate security, or charming his fellow runners into trusting him, Wesley always found a way to get what he wanted without resorting to violence. His silver tongue was his armor, and his quick wit was his sword. Sometimes it was more about who you know that matters. With every job he took on, Wesley's goal was clear: to amass enough wealth to pay off his crippling debt and finally break free from the shadowy world he found himself trapped in. He walked a fine line between the law and the lawless, using his unique skills to stay one step ahead of both. His network of contacts and informants ran deep, and he always had his ear to the ground for the next big score. Wesley "Doc" Valentine was a man on a mission, a charismatic hustler in a world of high-tech danger and intrigue. As he navigated the gritty streets of Seattle's slums, he knew that every job he took brought him one step closer to freedom and a chance at a life beyond the neon haze of the shadowrun world.

There're plenty of mercenary and guard outfits in the world. I know this is an awkward question at this point in time, but Lord Redire has a system... "Yes, yes we all have systems as I'm sure all the other mercenary and guard outfits in the world do as well, but you're the ones interested in looking for this missing woman. All of these organizations have their sense of duty but here we are, outside of traditional means to find her. The least I can do is offer my aid in finding her and make sure she is safe." 2) Can you summarize the contract you chose for me? What do you expect to do during it and how do you plan to solve it? You won't be alone, how will you contribute overall? "Someone stopped sending letters to their grandparents and the freelancer who went after her has also disappeared. Now this alone may not be of worry to plenty, tradition is often broken and freelancers can be fickle at times but from where I am from a deviation from the norm is worthy of looking into. I expect to venture to a place not on many maps, find the missing woman and the freelancer and deal with whatever threat may be in the way." "I am a proper magician myself, drawn to the magic of the earth. It feels like holding the very bones of the earth in your hands. Every stone, every pebble, they resonate with a primal energy that only those who share our deep roots can truly understand. When I channel my magic, I feel the ancient rhythms of the mountains and the steady pulse of the bedrock beneath us. But it's more than just power, it's a solemn duty to stand firm, using my magic to mend wounds and protect people." 3) I know I could draw up your file in a moment and likely could pull in any number of people to vouch for you, but... Where do you gain your strength and skill? What kind of training have you done and why? "I gain my strength from the earth herself as well as her patron Chrysis. You may not experience this often but being underground tends to hamper a mages power. I have found that it affects me less so and even if that may not be handy in the current situation it still will allow me to be steadfast in finding your missing person." 4) What do you think about the Immortals? "Stone has been known to stand the test of time, however with the correct outside force it can become sand. Now I'm not saying that is what is going to happen to the Immortals however one thing is certain, they will change over time." 5) Let's try a hypothetical. You wake up one day and discover a mark on your body never seen before. You've become a First Oracle. What do you think you would end up a First Oracle of? Would you actually strive to be a mouthpiece for a new deity? "I would hope to become a First Oracle for Chyrsis and would happily be her mouthpiece." A look of doubt washes over his face for the first time this interview, "If not her I suppose there would be some confusion and time needed to adjust. If we could find common ground I do not see why I would not be able to be their mouthpiece." 6) What does it take for you to consider a stranger an ally? A friend? An enemy? "Come to me with a common problem to face and we can be allies. Come to me with common morals and goals and we can be friends. Come to me opposing any of the above and we will be enemies." Appearance Jord'Dyn is your typical dwarf clad in fancy robes, blue eyed, brown haired, glorious beard. 23. Aurinko ignored the underhanded comment from the Lt. and listened to the commandant's orders. As the commandant finished giving his orders Aurinko looked over to his Geitlan companion and then over to their other companion who spoke of red juice. Sighing slightly under his breathe and looking back to the commandant he responds while saluting, "No, Sir!" Their directive did not sound so dangerous, however they would need to be careful and not get lost along the way. If they could manage that hopefully Aurinko knew enough about navigating to give accurate directions as his companions did not seem to be the sort to fly often before joining up.
  24. Aurinko's leave left him with plenty of free time. This was a new experience to him as before joining up most everything was regimented. Places he needed to be, things he needed to do, people he needed to see. The same thing came with the ground patrol, at least up until his leave. With all this free time, he didn't know what should be done. It was a quiet relief once that brief leave was over. He was the third recruit to enter the room, his presence announced by a slight glow. The geitlan in the room brought attention to himself by asking the commandant a question, while the other recruit in the room appeared to be eating a sandwich. He recognized the both of them from their time training together. They had not interacted a lot during their training but it seems like that would change very quickly if they all were apart of the same team. "I sure hope more than just the three of us, but I'm sure we will make do." Approaching the Geitlan, he offered his hand to shake. "The name is Aurinko Velsign." Its not everyday most people get to meet one of the Sun Kissed. Well, in this case a descendant of one, but nevertheless it was fairly uncommon for someone of his position would find himself in the Ground Patrol Muster. All he knew was that none of them knew what lay in store for them.
