Aavarius started following Fabula Ultima and Aavy Makes a Mage!

Salutations all! This here's a placeholder until I get more time to fiddle with this. I just discovered Fabula Ultima a couple days ago and after a quick look at the book decided I'd like to play it someday. Lo and behold, I discovered this here game on the Weave awaiting players. I have no idea if I'm going to have time to participate, but I thought I'd give it a go and see what happens. I'm the kind of lunatic that actually enjoys playing around with post formatting just for fun. So, I made a template for a character sheet (as well as what will probably be my character submission). Feel free to Clone the template for yourself if you like it. Even if I end up not playing, making something that could encourage more Fabula Ultima play on the site seems like a good way to evangelize the system. Note: You may have to recolor the backgrounds of those gray cells if it isn't legible on your preferred site theme. Cheers, ya'll!

"I'm going to be slower if I have to keep meatspace watch for myself." Thankfully, she had more to say than just to file a complaint. She also had good news. "Ice is derezzed and I'm alone in the camera server. One sec and I'll have eyes." There was more to it than that, but getting an uncompressed download on the code she was being forced to reconfigure just to interface with this camera server wasn't going to help any of them. Best just to keep the update basic. They had enough to worry about where they were. 《 In the infinite demesne of cyberspace, the Red Wraith placed an emaciated, dead-fleshed hand upon the heart of the eye master. It throbbed steadily beneath her touch. Her servitors gathered around the entity, forming a ring. They leaned in to watch, vultures encircling a kill, as their mistress began to squeeze the beating heart. There was an unholy strength that belied the Wraith's frail form. Cardiac flesh bulged and deformed. It would take but a moment to rupture and ruin, and the servitors would get their visceral entertainment.》 Mechanics On Turn Action: Using the Expert Programmer focus to rewrite my Door subject to the Machine subject. I've noted the change on my character sheet. Main Action: Using Sense Machine to try and get access to every camera feed connected to the camera server. No Access cost for Sense. Machine actually gives me a -1 penalty to my roll (included in the dice below). Spending 1 Karma to get an extra 1d6 on the skill check. The Hacker edge gives me an extra action each round I can use exclusively for hacking. I'll definitely use it to try again if this roll fails.

"Found the ice," she explained, "and a lead on the interior cameras--soon as I frag it." Phantom's heart did a little rabbit maneuver. Her adrenals were getting warmed up. Yeah, yeah, she'd done this network stuff before, but doing it out here on an actual run with a cujo and God-knows-what-else lurking just around the corner was all kinds of exhilarating and terrifying all rolled into one. Frankly, she could get used to this. 《 The Red Wraith, on the other hand, had no such emotional reaction. You may communicate with any intelligent creature, understanding them and being understood in turn. Your commands are always correctly understood, though obedience will depend on their eloquence or the use of their gifts. A Thousand Loyal Troops (Action): Commit Effort. A visible NPC immediately becomes cooperative toward you, doing for you all they’d do for a superior or employer. Those who are worthy foes get a Spirit save to resist this effect. The cooperativeness lasts even after the Effort is reclaimed, provided the compliance is not abused or wholly improbable. Know the Inner Truth (On Turn): Commit Effort for the scene. Understand the true motivations and intentions of any conversational partner, expressed by the GM in a few sentences. Worthy foes get a Spirit saving throw to conceal the truth. Desert Bond Ability: You have an invulnerable defense against fire and any temperature found in a mundane desert. You have no need of food or water and have an invulnerable defense against getting lost, regardless of your surroundings. Many of your gifts relate to manipulating desert surroundings. For the purposes of such gifts, a “desert” is any arid and sandy or rocky terrain at least a hundred and one feet in diameter, with edge cases determined by the GM. Such “deserts” can be natural or man-made. Azure Oasis Spring (Action): Summon a water source, causing a new spring to gush forth. Repeated use of this ability can provide sufficient water supplies for almost any number of people, or erode and destroy non-magical structures within an hour. At the Godbound's discretion, this summoned water is magically invigorating, supplying all food needs for those who drink it. These springs last until physically destroyed or dispelled by the Godbound. Optionally, the Godbound may instead instantly destroy all open water and kill all natural springs within two hundred feet per character level, transforming ordinary land into sandy wastes. Sirocco Sword (On Turn): Commit Effort. You wield furnace winds and cutting sand as a magical weapon, doing 1d10 damage out to visible range. Against creatures that require water to live, the attack always inflicts at least 1 point of damage, even on a miss. Sandshaper (On Turn): Commit Effort. While the Effort is committed, you may use your Main Action to shape sand, sedimentary rock, and dry earth within visible range into any configuration you wish within a 20-foot cube per character level. The shaped sand is as sturdy as sandstone after being formed. Shaped walls have hit points equal to the character's level for each foot of thickness; if sufficient damage is done, a creature-sized hole is punched through it. Endurance Bond Ability: You need not eat, sleep, drink, or breathe, and may set your Constitution score to 16, or 18 if it’s already 16 or higher. Body of Iron Will (Constant): Your natural armor class is 3. You are impervious to any natural environmental damage, such as that caused by extreme heat, cold, pressure, radiation, or vacuum. Such forces used as a weapon or hazard against you function normally. Armor or shields don't benefit this base AC. Viola Candidus-Raith White Court Vampire (Supernatural) HIGH CONCEPT: Newly Minted Siren TROUBLE: Guilty of Accidental Amatoricide OTHER: Runs With Scissors Bastard of a Cousin Family Moderately Famous Musician SKILLS: +3: Haste +2: Flair, Force +1: Guile, Intellect +0: Focus CONDITIONS: General In PerilYou may mark the In Peril condition whenever you are hit by an attack. Negate up to four shifts of damage from the attack and then create an aspect that describes how the attack causes damage not easily shaken off (such as a Broken Leg or Shattered Reputation). Whoever inflicted the condition is awarded a free invoke on that aspect. Recover from In Peril when you act deliberately to resolve the peril: medical attention for an injury, a bribe to erase the slight on your reputation. This typically entails overcoming an obstacle against an opposition of Great (+4) or higher. (sticky, -4): [ ] DoomedYou may mark the Doomed condition whenever you are hit by an attack. Negate up to six shifts of damage from the attack and then create an aspect that describes how the attack has rendered you almost helpless, such as Bleeding Out or Ready to Embrace the Dark Side. Whoever inflicted the condition is awarded a free invoke on that aspect. Recover from Doomed when you act deliberately to resolve the doom: emergency medical attention, the intervention of a White Council healer skilled in mental magic, or something similar. This typically entails overcoming an obstacle against an opposition of Great (+4) or higher. Clear out Doomed at the end of the next session after you’ve started recovery. If Doomed is marked and you are taken out (page 189), death is one of the possible outcomes. (lasting, -6): [ ] IndebtedThis condition has five boxes. Mark one or more boxes when you have accrued a debt to a powerful group, person, or entity. The number of boxes you mark depends on the magnitude of the favor done for you; the GM has final say. Recover boxes of Indebted by doing favors for the lender in return, on their terms. Typically, a fairly safe but challenging task recovers one box, a dangerous task recovers two boxes, and a task that puts you in mortal danger or could otherwise permanently impact you recovers all boxes. You may carry debt with more than one lender, but must recover them separately. Thus, if you have one box of debt to a demon and one to a local sorcerer, when you do something for the demon worth two boxes of recovery, it does not remove your debt to the sorcerer. If all boxes are full and you wish to acquire more debt, you may default on one of your current debts—the GM will tell you what happens, but you may clear out those boxes for further use. (sticky): [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] Mantle Raith HeritageYou are a member of the Raith White Court family, and thus this condition is always marked. You hunger for lust. (unique) [X] Burned by True LoveIn any scene where you are directly touched by someone displaying a pure, incorruptible, positive emotion, you must mark this condition (which absorbs no shifts from an attack) in addition to other conditions you take on. This display must go above and beyond the norm to qualify—someone standing up to you isn’t displaying True Courage, unless they’re doing so in the face of guaranteed doom. The emotion that burns you is directly related to what you feed on—True Love for Raith, True Courage for Malvora, and True Hope for Skavis. While you are Burned by True Emotion, you may not recover from any other conditions reflecting physical injury. Recover from this condition after an entire session has passed; if you suffer the burn in the middle of one session, in other words, you do not recover until the middle of the next session. (sticky) [ ] HungryMark one of this condition’s five boxes to power vampiric stunts. If you are taken out while Hungry, the consequences could be dire: the GM may determine that you embark on a feeding frenzy, killing nearby mortals but clearing the Hungry track immediately. To otherwise clear Hungry, you must feed on someone’s emotions: establish an advantage on your target (e.g., Grappled), and then make a successful attack. The subsequent feeding has two possible degrees of intensity: -- Take a tiny amount from many sources over time. With enough time between sessions, you may automatically clear a box before the next session starts. -- Your victim takes a condition representing emotional or psychological harm. Clear 2 Hungry boxes for a sticky condition, 4 for a lasting one. -- Your victim dies. Clear Hungry. (sticky) [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] STUNTS: Unique VirtuosoYears of study and performance have given you a +2 Flair to create musical performances Siren's CallWhen using the Emotional Vampire stunt to overpower someone you may instead use Flair to create an advantage by enthralling them with your voice. The target must be able to hear you clearly. Mantle Family FavorsMark Indebted to call upon your White Court affiliation for favors. One box grants automatic success to a task (provided it is without risk) without having to roll or play out a scene. Two boxes pays for one cost for a ritual spell (page 172) or provides NPCs or a magical resource to assist with a dangerous task. If at least three boxes are unmarked, mark the entire track for the Court to intervene on your behalf and resolve a situation utterly unsolvable under your own power. This action requires formally petitioning the head of your family and convincing them that the intervention is in their best interest. Emotional AuraYour aura makes others perceive you as a paragon of then emotion on which you feed: Raiths appear incredibly sexy, Malvoras as threatening, and Skavises as unsettling. Gain +1 on any action that this passive aura would aid, with the exception of the Emotional Vampire stunt. Emotional VampireIf you succeed at using Force or Haste on a create advantage action to grab hold of your target, you may define your advantage as overpowering emotion of the kind your heritage feeds on, and gain the benefit of scale when you invoke that aspect. Also, while that advantage is in play, subsequent attacks against that target allow you to feed, as per Hungry, if you inflict a condition. (See Hungry.) Vampiric ToughnessMark one box of Hungry to absorb two shifts from a physical attack. Vampiric RecoveryOutside of conflict, mark one box of Hungry to clear a sticky condition, or two boxes to begin recovery from a lasting condition. These conditions must represent physical injury. STRESS: [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] REFRESH: 2 APPEARANCE: x PERSONALITY: Vi's a person for whom the phrase "runs with scissors" was tailor made. She's impulsive, passionate, loud, caring, gregarious, overbearing, and fickle. She moves fast, shoots first, asks questions...maybe never. If you need reckless bravery, steely bravado, and little regard for personal safety, Vi's your gal. She lives her life by making it cry uncle and kicking it in the throat for good measure. If you need careful consideration, patience, and delicacy, you're probably better off leaving her behind. She's too stubborn to quit and too prideful to die anywhere but on her feet. All this is just as often a help as it is a hindrance to her. BACKGROUND: Admittedly, this is an untrained attempt at creating a term in Latin. My linguistic shenanigans notwithstanding, Amatoricide translates as "to kill your lover". Indeed, this is how Livvy found out what she was descended from. One afternoon of especially vigorous intimacy turned into accidental murder and a lifetime of horror. (Surprise! Yer a vampire!) Alex Fairchild was an in-the-know native of Okeeokalee Bay, moved to Nashville to try and hit it big in the music industry. The two hit it off for a couple years, you can fill in the rest. The cold, dead body that resulted did more than just awaken the latent demon inside Liv--it brought her back into the attention of her weird, estranged family--all of whom suddenly developed a keen interest in her that had never been there before. Oh, they could fix this little legal problem she had found herself in. Liv only need come back home and accept her place among them. Scared and impulsive, Liv fled south. Alex had always talked about home like it was some sort of actual fairy tale. Liv had never believed any of it, but suddenly that Fountain of Youth yarn sounded a lot more plausible in light of her current predicament. It might even be a way to fix it. There is an open police investigation back in Nashville that is looking for Livvy-Lu as its principle murder suspect. Having crossed state lines, it's now a Federal case as well. Up until now, Liv's greatest crime was several speeding tickets, so she's no criminal mastermind. Hiding from law enforcement is going to be a surefire way to compel her. Distrust with Betty Mullins is likely, too. Sheriff ain't liable to take kindly to another vampire traipsing into town, especially one wanted for murder. Liv's in a real bad place right now, and the only people that want to help her are actual frickin' vampires she had the misfortune of being related to, so that's out of the question. There's no telling who or what she may be forced to turn to for aid these days--or the consequences that may follow. Getting out from under the thumb of this Trouble is going to be a long, twisted process. Lu's got a haunting, soulful voice with a respectable amount of musical experience working in the industry in Nashville to refine it. Liv hasn't had anything to do with her weirdo family for years now. They're full of secrets and debauchery she had long ago grown uncomfortable with. Soon as she was old enough, she struck out on her own and never looked back. MANTLE: Vi's particular spin on her mantle has all the qualities of White Court vampirism you should expect, but the difference is how she baits the hook. Like her Greek namesake, Vi lures in her prey with her hauntingly beautiful voice, and the emotion she instills is close enough to the fore brain-numbing, hormone-pumping rapture a mainline Raith elicits that you might as well call it lust. Certainly, she can engage in the conventional means of alluring someone (the Raith-blooded looks obviously help), but her power is most effective with a vocal medium to incite with. Naturally, that means expected methods of silencing communication (a vacuum, a gag, deafness, soundproofing, etc.) are easily compelled against her charms. Despite their vocal charms, the Candidus-Raiths are not markedly different from other vampires of their court. Vi's family, who are cousins to the royal family in Chicago, are based out of Nashville. There, they run the music industry. Loose, adoring fans will pay top dollar to get close to their favorite celebrity. Add to that the emotional energy of an amped crowd and an emotional vampire can get very full indeed, all in plain sight. There's a good reason some songs get popular. -

Point of Interest: See-Food Bar A trendy little restaurant that specializes in street-style eyeball tacos. Ocular and traditional toppings paired with Elderbrin-style queso (It's never the same taste twice!) and an assortment of craft brews make for a novel and entertaining experience. The place is always thumping with whatever the popular music of the moment is and is lit by a swarm of dragonfly-winged light bulbs. Every inch of ceiling and walls are open for drawing on with color change quills. It's usually up to its (figurative) eyeballs in Vancian college students on any given night. Point of Interest: Dr. Safe & Friendly's Perfectly Normal Dentistry The eponymous Dr. Friendly is a neatly bearded man of middle years, typically sporting pressed khaki trousers and a cardigan sweater vest atop a crisp white shirt. He even does house calls, sporting a black leather bag with the name of his practice embossed on the side. Dr. Friendly is the very epitome of polite professionalism, his offices meticulously pristine and sanitized. There is absolutely no reason to assume anything is suspicious about such perfectly normal dental practice operating in a district so explosively surreal as Fartown. Rumors: The Puddle Checker Darby Brunt is the scourge of the Cascades. A bureaucrat from elsewhere in the city's administrative apparatus (such as it is), Brunt is a puddle checker. Building codes tightly regulate the breadth-to-depth ratio of all standing bodies of water in city owned streets. It doesn't seem to really matter that Satyrine doesn't have much in the way of a state beyond the Deathless Triumvirate and the Pinnacle Courts, because Brunt can quote you chapter and verse on the rules. The citation fines certainly seem legitimate enough. This incorrigible busybody can be seen shaking down business and residents of the Cascades on an almost daily basis. Considering the number of liquid fountains in this part of town, this is going to get out of hand rather quickly. Rumors: Le Honke A politician-slash-activist known as Le Honke--a literal goose--has tapped into an overlooked populous hitherto neglected. Once politically non-existent, a segment of the animal population of the neighborhood has banded together as a bloc that is more numerous than the human residents of the Cascades. Does it matter that animals didn't have the capacity to even comprehend civic rights a year ago? That hardly matters now that a few of them can. There isn't a law against it, so far as anybody can tell. The bowler hat wearing bird presents himself as "one of you," a native son, just like all the other geese that live in the Cascades. He has the irritable fighting temperament his kind are known for. He's aggressive, loud, and blunt. Rumor has it that he isn't above coercion and sabotage in the name of animal supremacy. He doesn't appear to be capable of saying anything beyond some derivation of "Honk, honk, honk," but his popularity is undeniable. Neighbor: The Spider's Nest Long ago this grand house was perhaps the greatest joy of some previous occupant. But now it sits in despair, untouched by anything but time. A shame, as the plantation house would look quite lovely is remodelled. Whoever owned the estate has been lost to the fog of memory, often with people stating that the house has been empty since they could remember. It was not till some squatters tried to settle in the house that people found the house wasn't as empty as believed. They were chased out by a sheer number of spiders, each of various species, that plagued every room of the house. Cobwebs and eggsacks fill every corner, and cocoons. Some as big as a person. No-one is sure where the spiders came from, but there are reports of a elderly woman with silk white hair entering the premise with a large sack. Neighbor: Marjolene's I live in one of two small flats above Marjolene's, a popular local eatery that serves coffee, sandwiches, cakes, and pastries. I did a favor for the owner when it was about to go out of business, and now get extras and leftovers on an almost daily basis. It has great Campus access and a bus stop across the street. The quick-drawing gunslinger was a deft hand at this. Her good eyes had gotten Phantom in close enough this was going to be a helluva lot easier. "Give me a leg up," she whispered to Bang when they had gotten sufficiently close to the camera. She needed just a bit of extra height to plug her cyberdeck's output jackline into it. When the pair got that sorted, she fished enough extra line out of her deck to comfortably get down to business from the comfort of asphalt level. She could hardly think of a better companion to keep her meat safe and sound while she went full-sensory into codespace. The input line she zipped out of her deck with a quick, practiced motion. She did two beats of breathing before slotting it into the cybernetic jack on the back of her neck. Diving into the deep end of infinity sort of tended to take one's breath away. 《 Somewhere in the warehouse network, a skeletal woman in a red dress, accompanied by spectral lights and ghostly servitors, manifested. Her visage was flat, emotionless. Cold as the grave. 》 At this point, doing this was all second nature to Phantom, so she had a read on the specs of the camera without really needing to think about the procedure for getting it. Another moment later and she had the right build of the attack program compiled for injection. With her thumb hovering over the key to execute, she whispered to Bang, "Signal the team to get in position. I'm about to short the feed." And when all was in readiness, she ran the program. 《 The Red Wraith directed its attention to the digital eyes on the exterior of the building. There, it wordlessly commanded one of the silently shrieking phantasms at its beck and call to subsume the eye nearest the Wraith's hostess. 》 They were officially on the clock now. Mechanics I'm going to keep track of all the hacking bookkeeping up in the top area of my posts. As you can see, I'm currently running "Glitch Camera" at the expense of 1 CPU. Glitch costs 0 Access and gives me a +2 bonus to the roll. Assuming it's successful, Glitch deactivates it. The drawback is that it only lasts 3 rounds right now and I'll need 24 hours to re-glitch this particular camera again.

I got my constituency by taking it from a decades long incumbent whose corruption my campaign unearthed and then used to expose him in the public eye. My policy positions were blandly moderate and pragmatic, but I kept getting reelected because I had a reputation for politically crucifying any of my colleagues if I found any dirty dealings they benefited from. Even my own party feared me as the Black Widow. Memento: A box full of buttons, posters, and miscellaneous campaign paraphernalia--usually spider themed. Skill: Deception. A contact might provide the current password to get into a secure area or ensure that a PC’s request is passed up the hierarchy to the right place. The contact won’t utterly betray their organization. All of this requires direct communication with the contact, and, often, the contact wants to keep their relationship with the PC a secret. No one wants to be seen as an informant. This usually involves some level of subterfuge or subtlety. Failure to do so probably results in the loss of the contact. * Drawback: The contact always wants something in return. Favors or information need to be paid for with money, information, or return favors. At least once during the PC’s career, the contact will call in favors from the PC and ask for a task or mission to be done, probably in the service of their organization.): Dreblin is a Zilat with a magical talent for finding things, lost and otherwise. He's something of bloodhound. He makes a living in the management of a distribution warehouse (that is bigger on the inside than the outside) owned by T&G Sundries Co., a shipping and receiving company. His magical ability gives him an advantage in keeping track of what comes in and out of the warehouse. Dreblin is a man who thrives on bureaucracy but not necessarily on ethics. He's not above turning a blind eye to the occasional crate "accidentally" getting popped open and something falling out. Sometimes he acquires things for me that I need in exchange for a "shipping fee" or a favor. Our arrangement happened after I did some investigation that got Dreblin custody of his daughter Marla in a particularly nasty divorce suit. For all his faults, Dreblin's ex-wife has crippling secret debts that come from a lifetime of financial irresponsibility. Dreblin's dedication to Marla is his redeeming virtue. Konstantin Grigori (Friend* Benefit: Aside from companionship, friends can share information, offer discounts, grant special treatment, or look the other way at the right time. The benefit depends on the position, occupation, and other specifics of the friend—everyone’s different. A friend might even put themselves in danger to help, but would a real friend ask them to do so? * Drawback: Friends sometimes need your help at the most inopportune times. They are needier than associates or contacts. Failure to give as much as you get in a friendship results in the loss of the friendship. Loss of a friend results in 1 Despair.): A 4th-Degree Vance and a captain of the Paresaad, Konstantin is the closest thing to a mentor in the Order to me--or at least the one person who tolerates my insatiable need to poke the bear. He's the reason I haven't yet been kicked out. He sees potential for greatness in me that he believes is being wasted on "damn fool crusades and a punk attitude." He wishes I'd stop constantly trying to find a dragon to slay and burning my bridges in the Order, because "if I did then I'd find myself with a lot more allies than I have now." Or whatever. Konstantin is a quintessentially professorial type, a Stoic. Being in his 50s, age and studiousness have made him formidable and steadfast. However, neither Konstantin or I are above getting into shouting matches with each other (me being the only person who can occasionally break his usually unflappable demeanor), but for some reason the old codger keeps trying to reach me when things eventually cool back down. I tell him he's getting senile and sentimental, which he rebuffs, but I'm also too proud to say I appreciate his long-suffering of me all the same. Shavashti (Friend* Benefit: Aside from companionship, friends can share information, offer discounts, grant special treatment, or look the other way at the right time. Loss of a friend results in 1 Despair.): Shavashti is, in fact, a white, long haired cat. She is also a 3rd-degree Maker who has very much earned her position as a master craftsman. Shavashti can shapeshift into a human woman with white hair and the same green feline eyes, but in doing so she loses all feline grace...and then some. She is embarrassed by the clumsy, awkward human body, but she needs the opposable thumbs to work. It is probably for the best that she almost never leaves the house in this form, because she thinks clothing is among the more silly human hangups. Shavashti lives in a normal looking house, except there are no interior doors (a nuisance) and beds (useless). The living room is dominated by an elaborate cat tree surrounded by sofas of interesting textures for lounging and scratching, and one whole wall is a colossal fish tank stocked with metal fish. In her basement is a metal forge, where she casts animated animal statues using her human form. Shavashti is very imperious and temperamental, vain to a fault, and cannot stand most people. Shavashti would describe me with such distant words as "tolerable," "amusing," and "useful" if asked, but I know better. Shavashti doesn't hate people so much as she doesn't understand them. For all her haughtiness, she is really just desperate for affection and doesn't know healthy ways to attain it. It's a very non-traditional friendship. Current StepSomeone needs your help. When a PC friend takes a character arc, you can select this arc to help them with whatever their arc is (if appropriate). The steps and climax depend entirely on their chosen arc. If the friend is an NPC, the steps and climax are lifted from another arc appropriate to whatever they seek to do. If you have a bond with the friend you are helping, this may increase the Acumen earned with each story point by 1. It’s difficult, but possible, to aid a friend with an arc even if that friend is unwilling to accept (or is ignorant of ) your help. The majority of the cost, story points, and rewards for a character with this arc are the same as those described in the original character arc. Cost: Agreeing to Help. You pay a cost of 2 Acumen. Opening: Answering the Call. 1 Acumen reward. Offering to help (or responding to a request for help). Step(s) and Climax: Depends on the friend’s arc. Acumen, Joy, and Despair rewards are the same for you as for the friend. Resolution: 1 Acumen reward. You speak with your friend and learn if they are satisfied. Together, you share what you’ve learned (if anything) and where you will go from here.: Agreeing to help Details added through play. Details added through play. Details added through play Roleplaying Details Appearance Xanah and the possessions on her person lose color saturation in proportion to her amount of sunlight exposure. She's completely grayscale in broad daylight. She otherwise sports a head of medium-length red-brown hair, copper colored eyes, and a fair complexion. Xanah is of unremarkable height and build, a slim physique that belies a lifetime of overindulging. It's only her constantly moving workaholic ethic that keeps her in shape. Her clothing usually favors practicality and comfort, never one to indulge in fashionable fads. Ever conscientious of her habits, Xanah always smells faintly of cinnamon and spice. Personality Lives on coffee, cigars, and favors. Fiercely individualist to a fault. A tarnished heart of gold. Tendency to overindulge. A patron of lost causes, shooter of troubles, slayer of dragons, walker of tightropes, and runner with scissors. Banned from kitchens across the Actuality for abject culinary incompetence. Never met a stranger before but carefully chooses close friendships A closeted romantic, almost disgustingly so. Her sharp tongue and compulsion to kick hornets' nests and turn over rocks makes many enemies. In her Order she's been demoted twice for it. Occupation Xanah describes herself as "creatively entrepreneurial," which is to say she doesn't actually have a traditional occupation. As previously mentioned, she lives off favors. These keep her constantly busy juggling a tangled web of commitments, investments, activism, and odd-jobs that she's perfectly satisfied living in the middle of. Income can be wildly inconsistent, but she's never been one to require much in the way of creature comforts. She's just as likely to blow a windfall on a hopeless cause as she is to devote it to a strategic endeavor. "Money," she says, "is just a means to an end, grease for the skids." She toys with the idea of running for office but talks herself out of it, saying that nobody would vote for her anyway. Despite her modest self-assessment, the growing network of contacts she's been developing suggests she might get more support than she realizes.
