  1. EVERYONE:

The Guardbots grab Scylla one on each arm and a third providing close escort as they march the Insurgent towards a nearby wall - where a door that wasn't there suddenly opens! The droids take Scylla inside just as the doorway slides shut again leaving no trace of a door! Another Guardbot walks to The Accountant saying in a mechanical voice, "Inmates may reference facility guidelines at the Digi-tables located in the main cellblock. Digi-tables may also be used to reference popular books and games for inmate entertainment."

The inmates to include Mueller and his crew watch the door close and begin laughing amongst themselves. Hellstorm looks over at the other Insurgents from across the cafeteria and shouts, "BETTER PUT A LEASH ON THAT THING!" At which point the inmates all burst into loud laughter which settles in seconds as more Guardbots enter the cafeteria from the hallway. Two Guardbots attend to the unconscious inmate Scylla attacked as the other cons wander in and out of the area.

    SCYLLA:

She finds herself in a metal room the size of a small restroom then Scylla senses motion downward. An elevator! In seconds it comes to a stop as the door slides open and the Insurgent is escorted out in a very long hallway similar to the others. After several yards the Guardbots stop and another door appears revealing a cell roughly the size of her own. Scylla is shoved into the cell as a Guardbot says, "First offense: one week" and the doorway slides shut immediately! Inside she sees the doorway fade away leaving her in a cell with a bunk, toilet, bathroom tissue - and NO SHOWER OR NO DOOR!

  2. When speaking in a non-English language in-character please provide an English translation either IC or OOC. Thanks 😉

Regarding "facility violations" the same laws on the outside apply in Gaddis. My fault for assuming your characters wouldn't know that.

I do not post IC on Saturdays and Sundays but I keep an eye on the OOC thread and PMs in case someone has an urgent question/problem.

  3. EVERYONE:

A fight begins as Scylla attacks Mueller! She misses Hellstorm but strikes one of his crew sending him skidding across the floor into a table! At that point Mueller's crew rush Scylla with a handful of them forming a tight perimeter around Hellstorm himself but before things escalate further the Guardbots appear from their positions around the cafeteria - their movement was much faster than a normal human's! Mueller's people pause and back off eventually walking out of the area as three Guardbots rush to grab Scylla! In a deep robotic voice a Guardbot says, "Facility violation: Assault and Battery."

    EVERYONE:

    1. Anytime you want to make a check just roll and let me know what it's for then I can provide an answer OOC and/or IC.

    2. The spork you get for eating is soft plastic and rates as Damage 0 breaking upon impact if used as a weapon.

    3. I added a pic for Mueller. Both he and Blacktop are heavyweights rivaling your characters. They both also seem to have large crews in Gaddis.

    4. Most inmates here will be Dodge/Parry/Toughness 12. Bosses like Hellstorm and Blacktop are Dodge/Parry/Toughness 16. Guardbots are Dodge/Parry/Toughness 20. I'll post this up on the OP.

    5. If you made the Info check on Dr. Shirer your character remembers him as Shadow Bandit a darkness-based supervillain.

  5. EVERYONE:

As the Insurgents talk they hear the shuffle of feet. A large group of nearly twenty Caucasian inmates stride over to their table surrounding the crew! One of them steps up to Siren and places his foot on their table near her tray! Hard not to recognize him: Christian Mueller better known as 'Hellstorm'. Former U.S. Marine turned psychotic terrorist. Everyone remembers when he assaulted the United Nations with his army of Stormtroopers trying to burn the building down! It took the Freedom League and AEGIS 48 hours to rescue the hostages and take him down. Hellstorm was as good as his name being a mutant pyrokinetic able to produce fire at will. The jury gave him and his whole crew 25 to LIFE for the horror he engineered then and he just smiled.

    Mueller.jpg.dec7c8f62693eb95cffd1cbe2d3c0508.jpg

You thought he was at Blackstone.

Shirtless except for his wife-beater Tee he nodded at the Insurgents, "Good Morning, Fish! How's that chow? Definitely a cut above the trash at Blackstone, eh? I noticed your putting you foot down. A bit. That doesn't work for me. Instead why not just be model inmates maybe get some time off your stretch and get outta here? I run my school here and Blacktop does his. We tolerate each other because a war does nobody any good. But you messing with the whole economy is wrong. Just keep to yours and mind yours and we'll be great! Okay? Because you don't make problems like I do."

A few large inmates huddle around Oleg cracking their knuckles and staring him down. Mueller sniffs your food, smiles then walks away with his crowd of inmates with him. Several of them issue loud whistles and catcalls at Hecate asking if they can be next as they leave!

Wait what? We have access to Luck?

Even depowered you have the Luck points I'm awarding. Everyone has one so far and they're recorded on the OOC OP.

Just type an @ and the name after!

Thanks @Oceane! Hecate now has two Luck points.

I've also had trouble with this. I have found that often it doesn't recognize 'mention'ing someone unless you type an '@' symbol, then type a letter after it, then press backspace to delete the letter, then trying to type something again. Sometimes I have to do this a bunch of times to get it to acknowledge me.

  7. OLEG:

The bespectacled man of average build with a crewcut adjusted his glasses, "It's Doctor. 'You're in my seat, Doctor Shirer".

He glanced up at Mammoth and smiled slightly, "Your first day and already making waves. Not the best move but certainly not the worst, since your friends are here with you. Convenient. The man looks around the cafeteria until his eyes fall on a certain figure then he blinks and stands dumping his breakfast onto the seat but holding the dripping tray, "Insurgency, eh? Perhaps your better served by the title 'Penitentiary' since THAT is where you've found yourself." Dr. Shirer gives Scylla a quick look as he turns to walk away ....

Are our character physically separated from their cellmates? Is the 'unlockable door' between them unlocked/open so that they can see or interact with the person in the other cub-cell?

Also, is there a window or bars or something in the doors leading out of the cell to allow the robot guards in the hallway to look in on the prisoners (and by extension allow the prisoners to look out into the hallway)?

Sorry for the delay: It's a dual cell separating each cell with a metal wall and door that can't be locked. You can't see through the wall/door. This prison does not have bars like traditional ones but instead their are metal walls everywhere where there would normally be bars. So no one can look into a cell from the outside and those inside can't look outside. It's very private but also very isolating unless you have a chatty cellmate.

  9. HECATE:

The metal door that divided the dual-cell opened slowly and an elderly woman dressed in simple gray prison fatigues peeks in,

    spacer.png

"Oh I thought I heard stirring next door and wanted to check in on you. It's been some time since I had a roommate. My name is Meredith. Meredith Isaacs but you can just call me 'Granny'. That's what everyone here calls me. I'm one of the facility Trustees you know helping out around the place. I ..... my but you don't look well, dear. Are you ill? Maybe when you get some food in you ..."

    EVERYONE:

As if on cue the cell doors leading out into the Main Facility slide open! Across the three hundred-foot cellblock inmates wander from their cells and are met by the roughly twenty Guardbots who indirectly herd many of the convicts towards the hallway leading to the cafeteria. Of the nearly fifty or so inmates emerging from open cells about twenty linger about the area a few sitting in nearby chairs or leaning on tables. There's chatter among the inmates some of them louder than others but there's an obvious tension due to many of them casting a long gaze at the Insurgency when they begin walking out their cells.

From the very basic computer intro they received the Insurgents know they can walk to breakfast, the Infirmary, the Yard or simply find a chair/table in the Main Facility or hang out in their cell. On one TV "Cast Away" played, on another FIFA futbol/soccer, the comedy channel was playing "My Cousin Vinny" and the fourth TV displayed a documentary of the history of the automobile.

Regardless of the Insurgents' decisions the stares from the other inmates was tangible!

On the other hand, OOC tags seem to be working; you could use those instead for now.

What happens if you put a list of those inside one spoiler? If I click on one will it pop them all?

That was my first thought: just use OOC tags. Not as fun or modular but if Spoilers aren't working like OGMW so be it.

Opening nested spoilers seems to open all of them. That's... kinda pants.

THANK YOU! If I can't nest degrees of success my hands won't stop shaking 😬 I just made a post on "How do I ..."

OR. I could be too stupid to figure out something ridiculously easy. We'll see.

Arrested "as a team" doesn't necessarily mean our characters were all in the same room when it happened, right? It would probably be way easier for the Heroes to arrest our characters if they were all split up. Could we say that there was some kind of Task Force formed specifically to deal with our PCs, and they coordinated a plan to take all our Villains down at the same time, likely by matching our characters against Heroes with Powers that were particularly effective against them? That would allow me to keep most of the details of Herbert's story intact.

I'm NOT writing this based on YOUR backstory. While I respect the effort I made Origin stories OPTIONAL just so I didn't have to deal with them. I cannot sacrifice the story of the entire team because one villain's backstory is written differently. You can change your Origin story or keep it the same. Doesn't really matter because the MAIN GOAL of this story is WHERE THE VILLAINS ARE GOING 🙂

Edit: cbenny hopefully you didn't take this as harsh. I just wanted to get the IC Thread going without additional wrangling about backstory. I'm always reminded that many of the greatest characters in novella and film HAD NO BACKSTORY. We just followed what they DID. Again you can make your character's backstory whatever you like and I know that's important to some players but I need to get this story moving. You wanted to have your PC turn himself in but since I established this team has been working together for years a "team arrest" was more expedient.
