No, They don't shoot you lol
It's bullet resistant and their not always 100% effective in stopping a round from penetrating, although I'm sure it helps.

Do they also shoot you, so you know what it feels like to be hit? Of course, this is while you are wearing bulletproof armor. I've always wondered that, but never asked a peace officer.

I've never had to taze anybody, although in our class the squad leaders got to taze their squad mates. We got it done in the same day, Taser in the morning, sprayed after lunch. Good Times

Whoa! Since you were hit with the taser, did you get to do that to anyone?
I have a friend that took a thief down with pepper spray. My friend was working at a cafe and the guy grabbed the tip jar and ran out. My friend rushed out after him and recovered the tips, but the thief was able scramble away, coughing and gasping for air.
In my job, I conduct investigations for civil cases mostly, although I do enjoy the opportunities to investigate a criminal case. If I read your profile correctly, you are going to be a police officer?

Uh yeah, I favored the Taser class where I got laid out by 50,000 volts and sprayed by horrendous amounts of BTU's in the face with pepper spray. Not to mention the concussion by getting a fist to the face, ahh good times. For academics though, criminal law and juvenile delinquency is what I am interested in.
