  1. Arcforge is notoriously imbalancedCynosure Envoy > Sympathy Edict at level 1, lets one ally "roll twice, take best" on ALL their rolls.; let's not go there. I understand Akashic is a mixed bag too... Since likely none of us is an expert on Guile, that's perhaps enough new stuff to work through for this game? ๐Ÿ˜
  2. Will we be using the from SoG? In terms of opponents (either in combat or social encounters), will we encounter a wide range of types (I use "types" here in the sense of the Ranger Favoured Enemy list)? Or will we pretty much never encounter some types e.g. Dragons, Outsiders, ...? @OzzyKP: just my 2c again, but the "how did we get involved" is up to you (the 2nd question from the random table can help in that regard).
  3. I have a sketch of a backstory in the first post above, and would like some feedback regarding the tone, so that I don't stray in a wrong direction. The setting has both light-humoured and dark traits, so I'd like to play with that.

  6. Vilrun has seen her share of boat trips, including in choppy seas, so her footing is relatively self-assured when she embarks or disembarks. She hides behind her hand her smile at the antics of the foreigner; her reaction to the conjured boat is more reverent. She lets her hand slide on the smooth white wood, and finds herself whispering ancient prayers used to beseech the gods, out of rote.   8. Quarter-ling = someone with a quarter of ling blood, whatever a ling is (one of the potential mysteries of the setting). Also clearly a continuation of the "pun" on half-lings (it's not clear that there are halflings in the sens of hobbits here).

Ilya lands on top of a nearby building, with the meleers on the ground and Dayv nearby. She tries to position the others as best she can given what they replied, and also what they told her earlier of their fighting style. "Not-Quite-Dead Eddie" she shouts, to get his attention away from Luce. "You are under arrest! Stand down, or we will use any means at our disposal - mostly disproportionate force, hails of enchanted bullets and powerful spells - to crush the undeath out of you." Noticing some magic emanating from one of them, she decides to shoot it first. OOC Move: Warp herself and her allies up to Medium range (200ft); they must end up within Close range (50ft) of her.   10. Ia, the Crystal Master Overtly a mage, secretly much more "Watch the crystals swirling around me... What do you see reflected in them?" Details Gender: Male Race: Half-Orc (Rainbowlander Human) Age: 35 Role: face, defense, knowledge monkey Class: Incanter Alignment: Neutral Appearance Ia goes barely clothed when he gets a choice - a loincloth is enough for him. But he's aware of other cultures and will adapt - putting on as many layers as politeness requires - to avoid giving needless offense. He is bald, brown-skinned, with very prominent, pointed ears. His large brown eyes are captivating, but his face does not emote much. His crystals dance around him whenever he is not using them in a spell. The master crystal, key to controlling them, is embedded in his forehead. Personality Backstory Ia's real name is Ignacio diCappadoccio, but in the Rainbowlands rife with overlong patronyms, he has found that a short name lets him stand out much more. Originally from the Red Land District, he was a rabid anarchist. But he was elected by his brothers and sisters to be sacrificed to join the Rainbow Inquisitors - part of the mandatory yearly contingent, as dictated by the Rainbow Covenant - and they Reformatted, Reintegrated and Repurposed him, so that he now sees the value of both freedom and an ordered society. Due to Ultras meddling, he was awarded the Master Crystal, a powerful relic from his order allowing him to control a swarm of crystals with warding abilities... yet he only got a few weeks of training with it, and anyway does not have the magical power to fully unlock it. He should have never been selected for a mission of such high importance as infiltrating the caravan bound to the Black City: a high-ranking Inquisitor would usually handle it, not a rookie who hasn't mastered the Three Ways of Ensuring Someone Tells The Truth, let alone the Fifty Ways To Torture Them Anyway (one of the ways is "With Kindness" - let it be known that Inquisitors are not monsters!). From what I get, the book sets the atmosphere (slightly post-apocalyptic, somewhat psychedelic, certainly sci-fi with a dash of fantasy), but does not describe every minute detail from the setting: the DM and players are invited to make up some of it. So I'd say don't overthink it. The force disk makes me think of the spell, except you can probably just manipulate it with your hand. Or perhaps it's just a high-tech frisbee? Invent what the Decapolis is (ten cities, literally, but perhaps 9 crumbled and the last one is...), with DM license. High-tech seems to coexist with basic foraging, or repurposing of old, unsurpassed tech. So up to you if your greed is towards a secret tech that you could use to produce stuff, or a specific piece of equipment ("the Laser Garter of the Hegemon"), ... TheGSE, may we use this , which goes together with the one above that lists utility talents in martial/magic spheres? Also, what do you anticipate will be the balance between exploration, combat, social encounters, puzzles, ...? edit: I hope we'll get at least one submission with a cat-related class. A or a ... ๐Ÿ˜
