As I understand it: make up whatever reason you want to be on the ship (or maybe tied surreptitiously to the ship below water level, in your case?). --> shipwreck --> the survivors explore the unknown shore, find buildings and secure them (chasing ghouls away) Now they're in the process of meeting their neighbours (other "nations") and building up the zone they control. They've also just discovered they're inside the Eye of Abendego (permanent magical cyclone). Starhawk will correct me as needed.

Let the prejudiced ones reveal their bigotry and embarrass themselves! Background Sadao was adopted into a noble family, and raised like one of theirs. However, tragedy struck, killing the two legitimate heirs of the Count in a tragic sailing accident. Maddened by grief, the Count transferred all his dreams and his paternal love - now turned obsessive - onto Sadao, but to hold up the charade Sadao was forbidden from ever showing his natural, fox-like shape in public. At first, he was flattered and eager to be given such an opportunity to become a peer, and he participated in the deception. Over time, the lies, and denial of his true self, became too much to bear, and he fled to make a name for himself, on his own terms. The shipwreck was an unexpected turn, but he trusts in his lucky star. Personality Peppy, optimistic, sometimes too wordy. OOC Notes He can hold his own in melee, with decent offense and defense (bolstered by his Mesmeric Mirror trick, a mini-Mirror Image). But his most powerful trick is Color Spray, which is enhanced by the Heavens mystery's Awesome Display to be more efficient against all foes, and by the Will debuff (one enemy only) from his Mesmerist Stare.

  5. I'm not sure I can add another game, but this looks interesting, so here are a few preliminary questions: what has happened in-game up till now? I read stuff about ghouls some time back, when Starhawk contacted me, but I don't have the full picture are the Kingdom roles up for discussion? For the character I'm thinking of, Ruler could be a possibility, but I certainly don't intend to grab it away from Rakle if they want it. are the current players looking for specific party (not Kingdom) roles to be fulfilled? I see Arcanist/Cleric/Fighter/Skald so it seems pretty well-rounded already. a couple of character creation questions for you Starhawk: 1/ if a class grants something equivalent to an Elephant in the Room feat, specifically Swashbuckler with Weapon Finesse, do they get a bonus feat as replacement or not? 2/ any cap on single item cost?

As they approach the island, she retires by herself to sense what is coming their way. She emerges back in time to hear the report of the shaman. She sidles up to him and the owl, stretching slowly her hand to Nixtli in a friendly gesture. "It is a great gift you have been given in this companion" she remarks to Grey Feather.   10. I added a Hide check to my last IC post. I'll let you add/subtract to it as needed based on your final ruling. I don't think we fully hashed out what Shadow Blend would look like in this game. There's a bit of discussion in Clem's thread, but no conclusion. As a quick reminder, Shadow Blend grants total concealment, and Hide says " or usually (but not always; see Special, below) obviates the need for a Hide check, since nothing can see you anyway." The Special part is about Invisibility that "just" gives +20/+40 to Hide without obviating the need for a check. Shadow Blend doesn't specify whether it would need a Hide check / what kind of bonus it would give (if any) if a check is still on the table. I don't mind needing a Hide check with a penalty, but indeed -20 would seem excessive. (Well, except if Shadow Blend gives +20 like Invisibility 😉 but that's probably too strong.)

  13. It's definitely a tough balance to get! But I sure like that you communicate about those things. 👍 On my end, I had a touch of disappointment at first, but it went away, and overall I'd say the whole scene & process around it went fairly well.

Then Sven steps in to defend her and makes quick work of the man. When the duel starts, Vilrun is about to silently lend her powers to their champion, but she senses a restraining force. Very well, it seems I am not to intervene here. At the end, she shouts her appreciation at the victor with the others, and ignores the fallen one. She does takes the time to address the remaining crew of raiders, with a simple reminder that must however carry more weight now: "It is death to lay hand on a Völva. You would do well to remember that." Hjarlof's kind words melt some of the worry and pain that knotted her muscles, and she rewards him with a bright smile.
