  1. Sweet. I assume this is sort of off-screen 'downtime' helping, so he'll make some grub, conjure some water, and then get to trying out seeker with the stone once everyone has a chance to be helpful.
  2. Should be fine with just the one to attempt Seeker on it. That will get us an idea of where to start at least.
  3. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Alvan settles down by the edge of the crowd, drawing in ambient magic to refill his stores. With a stern glare and comment to Piddles not to cause trouble, Alvan returns to his tried and true 'distract the children' magic, conjuring up a simple image of rabbits and stoats prancing about in ornate outfits, moving around the feet of anyone nearby. As he does so, he raises his voice to the crowd. "Can you good folk bring me anything organic? Spoiled or rotten food, leaves, even wood will do. I am going to change it into something more palatable, but it will take a bit of time. Any food you have I can also cook for you, and conjure water to drink." Action: Recovering his energy; in the meantime, he will use Simple Illusion to create a scene with small animals dressed up in finery, prancing around and looking up enquiringly at the children. Simple Illusion, Skill 20, tiny illusion that doesn't cost any FP. Once he's at full FP, he'll start using Purify Food/Cook if they have ingredients, or Create Food and Create Water to conjure up food and drink if they don't have any.
  4. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Nodding along with the rest, Alvan chimes in. "Pardon the bird...Piddles! Get over here!" He snatches his raven out of the air, holding him in a tight embrace that would likely hurt a real bird, but is barely enough to keep Piddles from being even more ornery. "I would likely be of some use in the interim. I can help search, or clean water, or purify food...the little things that were already in short supply before the incident. Just point me where I can do the most good." Action:
  5. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Leaning back, Alvan watches as Harolde takes the front. It was good that the priest was more open to accepting a leadership role; he was by far the most suited for it, temperamentally. For now, he keeps his silence, focusing on steady breathing and allowing the natural energies of the world begin to replenish that which he lost earlier. Action:
  6. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Promising to come back when he has coin, Alvan toddles along with the rest. As they wade through the crowd, he keeps his hands firmly around his pipe and his staff, the only things he really owns. He also glances up at Piddle, waggling his eyebrows intensely. "I would gladly come trade with you at a later date. In fact, I know a few food related magics that may assist you in selling your wares. Truly, magical preservation and flavor enhancement and seasoning can make even a dreary rat positively sing on the tongue." Truth be told, Alvan wasn't particularly hungry. The relative ease at conjuring his own food makes even his destitution feel less pressing. Action: Perception 9 Also, siccing Piddles on anyone who tries anything untoward against him or the others.
  7. Hmm...with the focus being on the combat and containment, would building a face be useful, for the 'corral the locals and evacuate' side of things?  With the point total, it shouldn't be hard to throw together someone with a specialty, AND the ability to shred some z's. Also, with the 'supernatural' characters, I get you aren't looking for a spell-slinging mage on a flying carpet, but even for flavor purposes, does the occult exist? For instance, if a character was going to be an incorporated conspiracist, who caught on to what was happening and ended up being recruited, could they have an interest in, say, Hermetic Magic, or Psychics/Mediums, or Bigfoot, and have those things be real? With mechanical abilities (like a magic or psionic flavored advantage or two), would having something like that and explaining it as a sort of "My mother always had the gift, and now I sometimes get these premonitions..." work, or would that also trigger the necessity to be amazing to get in?
  8. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Nodding, Alvan smiles. "Let's start with the two for now, and reconvene in a few days, while there is still life left in the others. As you mentioned, they could provide some utility in the interim. If you do find those who would like to buy another, we'll gladly offer you a finders fee, provided we come to some arrangement." Looking around the shop, Alvan adds, "And if you would be interested, I'd love to hear more about your potion-making. I dabbled in Alchemy myself, though only shallowly. I do have a number of spells beneficial to the process, spells of maturation, distillation, and cleansing. If you'd be amenable, I'd be glad to provide those to you in trade; I also have some quite fine brandy, if you'd like a taste to see if it may be worth your while." The Gnome smiles and explains that he never says no to brandy as he counts out the payment for the two Stones of Pelor. He then shuffles off to the back room, returning with a small wooden crate. He unpacks its contents onto the table revealing several over priced items of questionable nature and several small vials. These, he announces, are his finest work. Three Healing PotionsEach costs 150$ and weighs 0.5lb And heals 1d6 HP or 2d6 if administered with a successful First Aid or Esoteric Medicine roll (takes 1 minute) , two vials of Paut Costs 150$ and weighs 0.5lb Restores 1d6 FP lost due to spell-casting (only), one Ungent of Fire ResistanceCosts $500 and weighs 0.5 lb. Must be rubbed onto self (takes 10 sec) Immunity to fire damage for 1d hours., and an Oil of SharpnessCosts $500 and weighs 0.5 lb. Adds +1 to a weapon’s basic cutting and impaling damage. Two doses give +2; three (the maximum), +3. On a weapon with Puissance, use only the higher bonus. Treat weapon as a magical weapon for all purposes. Lasts one hour.. He also produces a small necklace that he says is an Amulet of Lightning ResistanceCosts 270$ and weighs 0.1lb Provides a one-time, one-second-duration resistance to a specific substance and then loses its power. Activates automatically when the wearer comes into contact with a potentially damaging amount of the substance. Provides the maximum possible resistance available against that substance – but only for one second! If the source is persistent, it affects the wearer normally after the amulet expires. . He then chats with Alvan regarding some possible collaborations, happily concludes any other necessary business, and bids everyone a good day. Action: GM NOTE: GM added to this post under the horizontal line to preserve continuity.
  9. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Alvan hems and haws for a moment, before nodding. "Reasonable, very reasonable. Could we perhaps work out an accommodation? Two up front for coin. The remaining three in credit against your other goods and services? My young friends are new to the adventuring path, and from the looks of things, you would be a good provider for many of the various odds and ends that such adventurers need moving forward. After all, they are in need to trade goods, as well as writs, permits, documentation, and so on. So, 500 silver in coin, 750 in trade, for five stones transferred to you outright and in total." If this is agreeable, Alvan offers his hand, shakes on it, and steps aside to let the others collect the coin and peruse merchandise. Action: So that would be 2 sold outright for $500, with 3 traded for $750 credit.
  10. HP: 10/10 FP: 5/10 ER: 4/8 Conditions: None Alvan steps forward, pausing to rub his hands against his robe, as if to dry them, before reaching out to offer a handshake to Geldavus. "Pleasure to meet you, sir. The young folk told me you took good care of them before their jaunt out of the city! They told me you were the person to go to with any goods or rewards they received that needed liquidation, as they felt you were fair and honest with them on your first meeting." Reaching down, he draws one of the stones from his pocket, and offers it to the man. "Looks like they did well enough. Their priest rewarded them with this...a stone, made by the priesthood, known as 'His Light Within'. It is enchanted, quite cleverly, to serve as a controllable light source, a stunning weapon, or a powerful healing implement. Are you familiar?" Transitioning directly from idle chitchat, Alvan begins the back and forth of a traveling merchant. Action: Alvan will surreptitiously cast Persuasion for +5 on his reaction roll, disguising the motion as rubbing his hands on his robe. Communication and Empathy college - 2 prerequisites, effective skill 18 (subject to the rule of 16, depending on Geldavus's Will). Costs 9 energy for a +5 bonus, cast through his staff. 4 from ER, 5 from FP. Persuasion He would also get +1 to the reaction roll for having Merchant.
  11. I'll definitely check it out! I never knew much about Greyhawk until Prophane started a GURPS game in the setting, and I've fallen in love with it.
  12. HP: 10/10 FP: 10/10 ER: 8/8 Conditions: None With a shrug, Alvan smiles back at Harolde. "No clue, truth be told, but we may as well start looking. That little shop you went by before you left, with the flamboyant proprietor...crinkle-warts, or something to that effect? He seemed to have all sundry goods, likely a good place to start." Setting off, he smiles to himself, surrounded by the others again. It had been a less than pleasing few days, back on his own. As much as he was used to it, there was a joy to be had in companionship. Action:
  13. Honestly, that would be pretty neat. Not sure we have the collective weight for it to be vital, just yet, but maybe it would help get there?
