  1. DARWYN PRIESTLY ("Morgan Hunt") - Outlaw Human Operative 1 HP: 10/10 | SP: 8/8| RP: 5/5 | EAC: 15 | KAC: 16 | FORT: +2 | REF: +6 | WILL: +4 | INITIATIVE: +5 LINK: PRIMARY WEAPON: Azimuth Laser Pistol - 1d4F - 20/24 Once the BD514 has safely landed, Darwyn unbuckles his safety harness and stretches to his full height. Thankfully Akari hadn't tried too many flashy maneuvers this go-round. "Morgan" then makes his way into the cargo-hold to join the others in loading their shipment for the trip to Hivemarket and Ka Imports. Tarik's message was rather meaningless to the former smuggler, so he didn't really question what was told to Raenela and the others. A job was a job, after all, so long as he got paid. Once the berries were loaded onto the cargo rig, he goes back to his cabin to retrieve his weapons and duster. He double-checks the charge on his laser pistol and secures his well-used survival knife to its sheath on his left leg. For good measure, he grabs his tactical baton and hides it into a pocket of his duster. With his second skin armor on, he makes his way to join the others. Hopefully there's room on the rig this time since he had no intention of missing out on the action again. Just for good measure, he activates the transport's security systems before the crew leaves for its delivery.

However, he started to squirm at her jest about a date with one of the witches. "Uh, um, I-I don't th-think... I r-really c-c-couldn't... 3. Well, another buff that Mickey has, as a Wild Mage, is the Bend Luck feature. That might come in handy in a pinch.
  4. Cauldron Cacophony? While reading my character sheet, I realize that Mickey also has the Inspiring Leader feat, so he will use it on all of us on our team when it's appropriate.
  5. Unfortunately, no. Animate Objects is a level-5 spell available when Mickey reaches 9th level, but it is something to keep in mind.
  6. I've considered exchanging spells, but I'm going to stick with my current selections. Summoning Undead? Isn't that a Chernabog sort of thing? LOL! BTW, I just finished seeing MOANA on FreeForm. (I had recorded it on my DVR.) It was fantastic! Wow! It was truly a great movie. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Now all I have to do is see THE BLACK CAULDRON (and read the books) and THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE. Well, and maybe see TANGLED again. I love that movie.
  7. Oh, yeah -- "Conjure Beast". That would come in handy, but I agree with our leader's approach to our task. Mickey will try to avoid combat unless it's absolutely necessary. Or if one of the bad guys says something nasty to Aurora, Rapunzel or Eilonwy! 😉
  8. I agree. No frontal assaults. We must use negotiation and stealth… and long-range sneak attacks to gain our objective.

"Oh! Oh! I just had an idea. What if we offered the witches the opportunity to teach here at the Mage Towers? We could say that all expenses would be paid. They could draw a stipend as visiting scholars or something." "Oh, we could also say that while they were here, they would also have the opportunity to audit courses. Learning magic from the greatest wizard of them all would certainly be attractive to a spellcaster, as I'm sure you would all agree." "We could even say that, if they allow us to transport the Cauldron here, they could continue to guard it, thus enjoying the extra security the Mage Towers' magical defenses can offer. I mean, it's not like any of us plan to use the Cauldron. All we really want to do is the keep the bad guys from using it to bring back this Hades guy (whoever he is!) from the dead." Then after a dramatic pause, the young sorcerer continues on a more somber note, "Of course, we should have a back-up plan in case bargaining doesn't work. Maybe we should try to steal the Cauldron if they don't like our offer? Of course, we would need a way to easily carry it. Maybe a Bag of Holding might help. Mr. Merlin, sir? Would that be possible? I've only got 87 pazoozas left to my name at this point. Maybe the rest of my team would be willing to chip in so that we could buy one?" "Oh, and we'd need people who were extra stealthy and light-fingered enough to pull this off." He turned to Eilonwy, Rapunzel and Aurora. "What do you all think?" 10. , , -- maybe we should get a Bag of Holding, too, so that we can carry the Black Cauldron back with us? Maybe if we can pool our remaining gold together so we can do this? I think Mickey can chip in 87gp.
  11. One more thing — Cauldron Cacophony? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the villains that we’ll encounter while chasing the Cauldron are Maleficent, Cruella deVil, Capt. Hook, Prince Hans, and Gaston. Of course, this is OOC for Mickey. He's never heard of any of these bad guys.

"Gee, thanks, your Majesty! You're swell!" He then ran over to bow before the newcomer. "Fa Mulan! Welcome and Howdy-doo! It's a pleasure to meet you. Good luck on your upcoming mission with Moana, Merida and Kronk. Gosh! I just know that everything will go swimmingly for you and the others." He laughed pleasantly at his joke. The Mouse then scurried over to Merlin's great book after the others have made their choices. He quickly scanned the ponderous tome, searching for any spells that Yesnid had ever described to him and had struck the young apprentice's fancy. Naturally they were all sorcerer spells. He finally decided upon Mage Armor, Counterspell, and Dispel Magic. He then took off his mentor's jewelry and handed both items over to Merlin, who nodded his head approvingly. Once the transaction was done, the selected spells entered into the excitable rodent's magical repertoire and he was almost ready. He turned to the great wizard and said, "Mr. Merlin, sir? I've thought it over and... and I think it would make sense if one of us on our team had one of your, uh, 'communication stones'. I think it would help us if we had a means to let you know when we've finished our mission." Once equipped, the dedicated magic-user answered Eilowy's question. "Okay, Princess. Whenever you're ready, I'm ready. You're the boss!" He help up the four fingers of his left hand and counted off the bullet-points. "1) We have to stop the bad guys from getting the Black Cauldron and reviving Hades. 2) We have to make our way to the island of Morva where the artifact is guarded by three witches that we might have to bargain with. 3) We have to be prepared to deal with a lot of magic and we will have to fight an army of cutthroats.. 4) And we have to bring the Cauldron back to Merlin. As always, Akari's piloting skills got them where they needed to go, but any data that he could provide him he would dutifully submit. When he had a moment or two of tranquility, he considers what little he knows about Akiton and Hivemarket... which is evidently pretty little. CULTURE Check re: Akiton & HivemarketIf there is a general question, Darwyn only has cursory knowledge about this world. However, if he's considering the planet's criminal underworld, the DC is reduced by 5 because of his Outlaw theme. This would mean he would be able to recall knowledge of an average nature on that specific topic. Darwyn must be slipping in his old age!
  14. Yeah, I'd really hate to be in front of this version of Mickey when he's casting Fireball... especially when he's a Wild Magic Sorcerer! LOL! Luckily for you and the rest of your group, Moana will be on Team: Sundial where she would be underwater. Also, as a Sea Soul Sorcerer, you have Watery Defense.

This is getting kind of uncomfortable. As the Mouse continued to kneel before the High King, awaiting His Majesty's permission to rise and consult Merlin's great spellbook, the young sorcerer surreptitiously glanced around the vast hallway out of the corner of his eye. He couldn't help but notice that none of the others were kneeling. Now that's weird. Well, the princesses were royalty, anyway, so he guessed they didn't have to do anything extra special to show deference or respect. And as for Fa Mulan, the Envoy from the Land of the Dragons (Wherever that is!) -- maybe it's because she's a diplomat or an ambassador or something? Maybe she doesn't have to kneel before King Arthur, either? Too bad the King showed up when he did. Mickey would've liked to have given Fa Mulan a proper welcome. Now, of course, that didn't explain Kronk's indifference to King Arthur. Maybe Kronk was a prince? He certainly didn't dress like a prince. With that apron, he's dressed more like a cook, but Yesnid once told Mickey about a king who only wanted to be a clockmaker. Weirder and weirder.... Anyway, all these courtly protocols were very confusing to the young apprentice. After all, he was just a simple, country sorcerer. Or, at least, he was trying to be. Now that brought up an interesting line of thought as the onyx-haired rodent shifted his weight a bit in an effort to maintain his position on the stone floor. Is he even looking this way? Are any of the others magic-users like himself? He only knew them as "princesses". (Well, they were certainly still pretty enough to be princesses in his opinion.) He was pleased that so many of them seemed eager to learn magic. However, he had heard that most princesses were simply adventuresses. Usually they relied on quick wits, natural charm, useful allies, and the occasional magic item or two. Now this Fu Mulan and Princess Merida certainly looked formidable enough with their weaponry and armor. Despite the apron, Kronk looked plenty tough, too. I wonder if any of them already know how to cast magic? Is that even taught at the Princess Academy? And then, an even more ominous thought overshadowed his idle speculations. Is Minnie learning how to cast magic? Mechanics OOC: n/a Main Hand: Empty Off Hand: Empty Action: Mickey's action goes here. Bonus Action: Mickey's bonus action goes here. 16. Hmmm... It may be a good idea for our teams to be able to keep in touch with the Big M while on our misadventures. It also might be a good idea to be able to communicate with each other when separated. Do the communication stones work like Sending Stones, i.e., only once per day? On another note, it might be a good idea to let each other know the spells and magic items that each of our characters' have. It might help in making our own decisions at this stage. For Mickey's part, he currently has a Ring of Jumping, but he's leaning towards trading that in for one of the communication devices. As for spells (after having consulted Merlin's spellbook), he has the following... Cantrips Fire Bolt Mage Hand Minor Illusion Prestidigitation Shape Water 1st-Level Chaos Bolt Feather Fall Shield Tasha’s Hideous Laughter Unseen Servant (Broom) Mage Armor 2nd-Level Enhance Ability Misty Step Vortex Warp 3rd-Level Fireball Counterspell Dispel Magic
  17. Ulp! I apologize for the typo. Sometimes I get a little mathematically challenged. In any case, thank you for accepting the selected spells. I will note the additions on my M-W character sheet and my original application. I will also make note of the additional Sorcerer class feature, Magical Guidance. Thank you for making Potions of Healing available to us as a freebie. I wanted the items because I figured we would be getting into combat at least once or twice and could use some insurance even though Aurora as a druid might be able to heal members of Team: Cauldron with her Cure Wounds spell. As for the remaining 330gp (I hope I got that right!), I'm still debating whether to stick with the Ring of Jumping or trade it in for the communication device. A few questions, though -- do you only purchase one device or is it a set of two like a Sending Stone? If only one device, who would receive the communiques from the possessor?
  18. Well, if it is permitted to trade Mickey's two magic items for three additional spells, he'll go with Mage Armor, Counterspell, and Dispel Magic. All are Sorcerer spells, so the cost would be 320gp and he wouldn't have to roll to learn them. That leaves him with 330gp to spend from the initial 750gp. So, since we're rather lean on healing spells on Team: Cauldron, he'll buy six Potions of Healing. If that's okay.
  19. I think I saw THE BLACK CAULDRON when it first came out in movie theaters, and I don't remember much. I've never read any of THE CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN series, either. TBH, I've never seen THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE or MOANA, for that matter. I have seen (and enjoyed) BRAVE, TANGLED, SLEEPING BEAUTY, and MULAN.
  20. OOC, where did your characters study and train? Up until now, I've not read any backstories to preserve the notion that Mickey has never met any of you before. Where do the princesses learn magic? It seems that everybody, both on Team: Cauldron and Team: Sundial, know some magic. Do they teach magic in the Princess Academy? Do they only teach it in the Mage Towers but courses are open to royalty? Do the various spellcasters study together or do they have separate schools/programs for wizards, warlocks, sorcerers, paladins, druids, clerics, and bards?

The owl was a little snooty but otherwise a good fellow to know. The red-headed teen girl was unfamiliar to the Mouse, but the blonde teenager... "Jiminy Cricket!!!" the black-haired apprentice yelped, his conical cap tumbling off his head to be desperately, clumsily caught in both four-fingered hands. The young sorcerer immediately knelt down upon one knee and bowed his head. "You-your Majesty! Uh, um, it... it's a g-g-great honor, sir!" As he waited for Arthur, the High-King, to give him leave to rise, he considered the great wizard's offer. This was his opportunity to become a powerful spellcaster like his old mentor, Yesnid. To learn spells under the tutelage of the greatest magician in the world. What more could a sorcerer aspire to? (Well, yes, marrying Princess Minnie was always on his mind, but this... this was BIG time!) (Just don't tell Minnie!) However, one of Yesnid's old lessons stuck in his mind. "Remember, my boy! Magic always demands a price. The greater the magic, the greater the price. Think well and long before you commit." While he waited for permission, the little spellcaster surreptitiously took out his money purse and counted his current "wealth". A lone moth flew out of the bedraggled, old leather pouch. A quick survey told him he had 7 gold pazoozas, 2 silver, and 95 copper. He gulped loudly and put away his purse. This was going to be a lot harder than he thought. Then he got a bright idea! Maybe Merlin would accept Yesnid's antique Periapt of Wound Closure and ancient Ring of Jumping in exchange for this advanced magical training. The Mouse continued to wait for a sign from King Arthur. Mechanics OOC: n/a Main Hand: Empty Off Hand: Empty Action: Mickey's action goes here. Bonus Action: Mickey's bonus action goes here.
