  1. Sounds good, I'll leave the game up for another week or so and then look into the procedure for closing it down.
  2. Well, I never thought I would see the day, but we've actually finished a game on MythWeaver!!! This marks the end of the story. Make an epilogue post if you'd like and feel free to take creative license with any NPCs etc. Otherwise, pat yourselves on he back, its not easy to play all the way to the end of a play-by-post game. I hope you guys had fun, and thanks for sticking with it!
  3. Through the dark catacombs of the ancient facility the keleres flee. The structure, which is older than some galactic civilizations, suddenly it seems to be feeling its age. The walls shake as support beams that have stood for over a millennia come tumbling down in the path of the escaping heroes. Jana, unburdened by the heavy metal form of the L1z1x is managing to keep well ahead of the falling debris. Karrik, however, is not so lucky. As the pair move closer to the surface, the hulking avian falls further and further behind. Complicating matters is that the pair may have underestimated the L1z1x's internal self-repair functions, as even now Karrik can feel the cyborg stirring. But hope is not lost, they are approaching the surface now and only needed to make it through one final corridor. Dashing ahead, Janna races clear of the entryway. The biting cold of the dark side of Herool's Truce bring a feeling of relief rather than discomfort. Karrik is just behind her, a few paces from the door, when tragedy strikes. A panel gives way just above his head and a mountain of rubble tumbles through the towards him. Even so, he does not flinch, his death has saved billions of others, maybe even the galaxy itself. It is a worthy trade. The debris kicks up a cloud of dust, smoke and ice, obscuring everything to Janna's eyes, who frantically turns and tries to feel around for her companion. She's lost plenty of people before during her time in the army, it hasn't made it any easier. Yet, as the cloud of debris falls, a miracle seems to occur. Karrik is sitting on the ground just past the rubble, completely unharmed. 109.XY, regaining consciousness and motivity, shoved him forward at the last second, pushing him clear of the danger. It was the L1z1x's final act, only his broken limbs can be seen, sticking out of the rubble where he fell. Standing shakily to his feet, karrik joins his companion as they both stand silently for a moment, panting from the exertion they just endured. The facility's shaking continues, but it is subsiding. They feel fairly certain that they are safe now. Herool's Truce is also safe and so too is the galaxy. Safe, at least, from the horrible calculations of 109.XY. Somewhere out in the stars, a greater evil still lurks. The dreaded Mahact Kings, though they were never aware of the danger, have perhaps also been saved by the keleres actions. But that is a fight for another day.
  4. I will take an athletics (Brawn) check to escape the collapsing facility, difficulty is 2 purple dice if you are running by yourself, 4 if you want to carry anyone out with you.
  5. The rhythmic thrumming continues to intensify, the room practically vibrating now. This is well beyond Jana's expertise, but from what she can tell the device is too damaged to bring harm to Herool's Truce anymore. Remaining in this facility, however, is seeming like an increasingly unwise course of action.
  6. You can make an easy (1 purple difficulty die) Mechanics + Intellect check if you want to diagnose the device.
  7. As a soldier, Jana has been taught the art of efficiency, of using the right tool for the right job. What she does doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work. But that last shot of hers was a thing of beauty. A salvo of bullets rips through the L1z1x's hard metal exoskeleton lodging deep into his internal systems. The cyborg drops like a horrible marionette with its strings cut, not dead but very much disabled. The battle is won. The device, however, continues to spark and crackle. Whatever function it was supposed to serve, it's clearly too damaged to do that now. Yet as the bedrock walls begin to shudder and the guttural thrumming of the facility intensifies, the keleres come to the chilling realization that all that energy the device was building up still needs to go somewhere.
  8. Sorry for the delay, back from vacation now and working my way through a backlog, will get a post up tonight.
  9. That was also about as close to a perfect roll as I could have gotten, so he may not be able to dish out damage like that every round.
  10. Janna and Karrik's combined barrage tear through the cyborgs hard metal carrapace, blowing off one of his four arms and leaving him barely standing, but standing he is. A furious mechanical hiss filled reverberated out of his speakers as he raises one of his remianing arms towards Janna. A laser beam, not unlike those of his cyborg minions blasts from his palm. His seems to have significantly more firepower though. OOC Janna takes 12 damage minus her soak of 4, for 8 damage total.
  11. Janna's stream of gunfire pierces though the L1z1x's hard metal body, clearly doing significant damage. 109.XY pauses in his journey to the final node to raise his arms and shield his face. The distraction is more costly than he realized though, as Karrik's arrow soars past his head with enough force to penetrate the protective energy field of the final unnactivated node. The clearly unstable device explodes in a nova of sparks that blasts the last remaining minion across the room where he is knocked unconscious. The Kelere's have done it! The device is destroyed and the galaxy is once again safe. The same however, cannot be said for them. Before the Kelere's can feel relief, 109.XY’s stare falls upon them. No longer cold, the eyes burn with resentful hatred. “Threat reassessment. Keleres agents have unforeseen potential. New priority: sample specimens to be collected.” 109.XY moves much quicker than you thought possible for his size and is much stronger than his spindly limbs would suggest, in seconds he has advanced on Karrik. His mechanical arms latch onto him, lifting the massive avian off the ground and flinging him towards the still sparking destroyed node. Show this Make either a 2 purple, 1 red difficulty Athletics (Brawn) or 1 purple 1 red difficulty Coordination (Agility). If you fail suffer 5 wounds, 5 strain, and you have 2 black setback die to your next check, if you succeed you either land gracefully or absorb the impact, depending on the skill chosen and take no negative effects.
  12. Sorry for the delay in a bit of a crunch period at work. I plan to post an update tonight.
  13. That will be enough to take out another minion, putting them at one remaining. No worries, I just moved at the beginning of October so totally get it.
  14. This is a new "chapter" so I'm fine with saying once per session abilities have refreshed.
  15. No your good, that ricochet works however it isn't enough damage to penetrate the shields in a serious way. FYI, I had meant to mention this but for this roll just now and the last one I spent story points to upgrade 109.XY's mechanic check, so you guys are currently sitting on 4 story points and I am down to 1.
  16. Though outnumbered and outgunned, Janna's training continues to shine through as she lands a perfect headshot and outs one of 109.XY's minions down permanently. She's not finished there though as another of them is caught in the line of fire and sustains a serious injury, though it yet lives. Karrik's arrow meanwhile flies towards 109.XY himself and though it is unable to penetrate his armor it manages to his just the right spot to knock something loose in his circuitry. the lights mounted about his body flicker briefly before settling on a somewhat dimmer if no less menacing glow. In an amazing trick shot the arrow itself manages to ricochet off his body, smack one of his minions across the face and finally bounce off the forcefield of one of the nearby nodes. 109.XY lets out a menacing growl, but proceeds to the next nod unheeding of the interruptions around him. Once there he again attempts to activate it, though it is clear the last attack has not made it easy on him. Amazingly though he managed to push through and activate yet another node. Two of them now hum with life, and only one is left before the device powers up. [spending triumph to upgrade minions next skill check. Taking 2 strain from threat] The cyborgs are having less luck, in fact they seem to be hitting everything but the keleres! Still there aim can only get better from here. [spending three advantage to ignore negative environmental effects until the end of the next turn]
  17. 109.XY acts quickly to get the node he is working on to power up and his efforts are soon rewarded as the device hums to life. There remain two unpowered nodes though and the plain irritation that is beginning to show on the cyborgs face is a sign that the process has not been effortless. (2 strain suffered) Still, with this nose activated, he moves on to the next, continuing to ignore the battle between his underlings and the Keleres. That battle, meanwhile, is shifting in the Keleres' favour as Janna lands a lucky shot directly into one of the cyborgs main power cores, causing an overload in the man's cybernetics that electrifies him into unconsciousness. The remaining minions continue to fail at landing a shot as the haze in the room dissipates. There actions do seem to be getting more coordinated though as they begin to get a sense for the Keleres' combat techniques (spending advantage for a boost die to their next roll).
  18. Critical hits are auto-kills on minions so even though the successes were cancelled out by the failures there Janna's shot will still take out one of the androids. yes you can give a boost to Janna's next roll with your advantage. I'll get a post up with the enemy actions tonight.
  19. We are going to proceed without Ipphli for the time being, though he is free to jump back in if he wants. You two are both free to act now
  20. Karrik's arrow, which destroyed the first power coil along with a well placed shot from Janna's rifle, ricochets off the power coil and lodges itself in 109.XY's shoulder. He spares Karrik a hateful glance, but simply reaches up and snaps the arrow shaft in half before discarding it and continuing to work. Damage has been done, but it will take more than that to slow the L1z1x down.
  21. Oh shoot forgot about that. I will add that in tonight
  22. I will go ahead and proceed for now, feel free to jump into the combat whenever you want to. in the meantime, Jana and Karrik can both act again.
  23. The power coil sputters, sparks flying from it, and the corresponding light on the device shifts to an angry red. 109.XY turns his cold stare to you. “Interference by Keleres agents is meaningless. Rerouting all auxiliary power from main generator to compensate for lost coil.” The lights beginning to strobe in the room, the crackling sparks of the power coils further confusing things. But there was a note of desperation in 109.XY’s dissonant voice. You are certain: if it loses another coil, the device cannot function. However, just as the thought occurs to you, 109.XY reaches out and taps a few keys on the control panel, causing a kind of energy field to power up around each of the coils. Attempting to destroy them now will surely be a daunting task (4 purple difficulty die). Furthermore, with the chaotic lighting the keleres will find it difficult to draw a line of sight on their targets or carry out fine manipulations (ranged attacks and mechanics checks receive a black setback die). Rather than advance towards you though, 109.XY moves to one of the nearby coils begins to operate on it, apparently attempting to bring the device fully online before the keleres can do anymore damage. His minions are another story and promptly open fire on the interstellar agents with laser weapons that pop out of their cybernetic limbs. The laser beams fly wide, missing their target, but manage to blast open some kind of air vent. Fog hisses into the room further obscuring the cyborgs until only the red glow of their eyes and laser weapons can be seen through the haze. (Spending 3 advantage to give a black setback die to ranged and physical attacks against the cyborg minions in the next round)
  24. I'll give it another day or so to see if Cheliyxx wants to do anything this round.
