  1. Gabriella Marlowe   "What? No, you're fine!" Gabby looks mortified for a moment; she certainly hadn't meant to make Sarah feel guilty. "As long as I have them on my senses are pretty much normal human level. Plus I don't really sleep that much anymore so you don't have to worry about keeping me up."   She takes the offered coattail gingerly in a brief handshake. "That is going to take some getting used to, but it is really cool." Breaking into a goofy smile she starts softly humming the tune to 'Be Our Guest'.
  2. Gabriella Marlowe   "Oh this sounds like it's going to be fun!" Hurrying to change after returning from class Gabby eagerly tags along with the others, now clad in simple gray shorts and a faded pink tshirt that declared 'I ❤️ San Francisco'. She gawks at the high tech training room as the older students explain how it all works-the bit about the injury prevention was especially interesting since she'd never really tried to test her full strength so this would be a rare chance. Then came the group huddle. Of course Megan had fire powers, that just fit too well. Although she had started to show a little behind her mask in their brief conversation earlier so maybe there was more to her than that. The new guy could do stuff with magnetism and was apparently a skater. Hubris was a cyborg?! That was awesome! And of course she already knew what Sarah could do. That just left her...   "So uh, I can fly. And I'm hard to hurt, and really strong." Her eyes start to drift away from the group as their opponents start warming up. "I could hold Ty...uh hold him down...that is, pin him on...so he can't get the flag, I mean." Gabby's cheeks turn crimson as she keeps digging the hole deeper, finally managing to stumble through her sentence. "Ohlookcommunits!" Latching on to a convenient distraction she heads over to the cases to start grabbing ear pieces for everyone.
  3.   @iantruesilver Yeah, life got weird...I should have kept you updated though and I apologize for that. I am getting back up to speed now.
  4. Noriko Kaino   "Yes, we actually passed it on the way here." Giving a brief reply to Darhana she then turns and bows to the gnome. "Thank you for your information, we will seek out Sir Jasper." With that she turns and leads the way back out into the street.   "Simple, but insightful." Noriko nods in agreement with Kaichar's assessment as they walk towards the Mercantile League building. "It is the most likely explanation."
  5. @iantruesilver the link is broken when I try to click on it
  6. Noriko Kaino   "Have they returned here to Sandpoint? Perhaps they can give us some explanation of why they fled." Noriko listens to the gnome's information curiously; surely there couldn't be anything truly dangerous that close to the town?
  7. Gabriella Marlowe   "Uh..." Gabby hesitates, not sure how to respond to Megan. Was the other girl confusing her for someone else? Wait, did she mean Sarah? "No! I mean, we're not...not that there's anything wrong...but that's not how...we're just friends." She finishes awkwardly, growing increasingly flustered. Was that really the vibe they were giving off? It had been like a day, not even at this point.   "But anyway," she continues, determined to press on through it. "I just saw you and thought, you know, 'hey I know that person' so I figured I would say hi. New place, lots of new people, it's good to see a familiar face right?"
  8. Noriko Kaino   After introducing herself and breifly returning to the kitchen to retrieve her sword Noriko follows along with the group through the bustling morning streets. Getting momentarily distracted by the advertisements for the new play she hurries to catch up, reconnecting with the group just as the reach the town hall. Following Darhana inside she offers a small bow to the person at the front desk. "Good day," she begins formally. "We are here to inquire about the job posting." The girl gestures to the notice flyer that Darhana holds up.

  10. Gabriella Marlowe   Gabby cracks up as Sarah joins her pose, sitting back down in a fit of giggling. They had both needed that after things had gotten so serious for a minute there. "Jealous?" She eyes the coat as she returns Sarah's wand to her. "120? Wow yeah, you don't need a motorcycle with that. Sorry if I hurt your feelings." That last was directed specifically at the jacket, though she felt a little silly talking to clothing.   "I can fly too, at least a little." How fast could she go? She'd never trusted herself to have enough control to go all out, and didn't have a way to test her speed anyway. "I'm super strong and basically impossible to hurt. The AEGIS guys that came to my house scanned me with a device and said it would probably take a rocket launcher to even bruise me. And I can see and hear reaaaaaally well." She taps the side of her glasses. "These have some kind of rare earth metal in them that helps dampen everything, otherwise I get major sensory overload. Killer headaches. They said it shouldn't take long for me to get enough control to be able to do that by myself though."
  11. Gabriella Marlowe   "Good luck, see you at lunch!" Backpack firmly slung over a shoulder Gabby waves as she and Sarah part ways, hurrying to make it to her first class. She briefly considers flying to make up some lost time, but that would draw waaaaay more attention than she was comfortable with. Also she didn't have a ton of control over it yet, and crashing a big hole through a building was not the way she wanted to start her first day here. Or any day really.   Fortunately her abilities meant she didn't really run out of breath, so normal human foot travel was fast enough as long as she made sure not to run into anyone. The morning passed in a blur; the intro speeches and syllabi for the gen eds started to run together. Then came journalism, the subject she was actually excited for, and she stayed after asking questions about joining the school paper long enough that she ended up late for her last class.   Making her way towards the quad Gabby was surprised to find she was actually hungry and looking forward to lunchtime. Looking around outside she spotted a familiar face, though not the one she was looking for. The flash of red hair was unmistakably Megan and she hesitated, hoping to remain unnoticed in the crowd as she usually is. But after a moment's thought she keeps going forward, waving at the other girl as she walks past at a slight angle. Not close enough to force a conversation, but enough to give her a chance. Maybe Megan had just gotten off on the wrong foot. It was a big change for all of them after all-moving here, leaving friends and family behind, getting tossed into this crazy new place full of strangers. "Hi!"
  12. Gabriella Marlowe   "Better is good, hopefully no flying beds." Gabby laughs as the tension of the moment starts to dissipate. "You made all this stuff? That's so cool! So does the jacket let you fly or does it fly and just sort of carry you with it? And how do those-whoa!" Her eyes widen as Sarah produces her 'wand'. She gingerly accepts it, pointing it at the wall and sighting down the barrel. "So you've got a big ass gun and a cool leather jacket. You just need a motorcycle and you've got the whole 'loose cannon ex-cop' thing down." Posing dramatically with the gun she does her best 'movie announcer' voice. "Solving crimes that no one else can with the help of investigative reporter Gabriella Marlowe. 'Black Magic Woman', this fall on NBC."
  13. Gabriella Marlowe   Distracted looking at a school map and trying to figure out where her first class is Gabby looks up at Sarah's nudge, blinking in confusion as she tries to piece together what she missed. "Oh, you bake? We should toooooh..." she trails off as the full implications click, a dopey grin on her face. This 'best friend' thing was pretty cool; Sarah was an awesome wingman. Wingwoman? Wingirl? No, that sounded like a Pokemon...   "Oh heck!" Seeing the clock on the stove Gabby leaps abruptly to her feet, actually hovering for a brief moment. "Class!"
  14. Noriko Kaino   "You're going to ask about the job posting as well?" At Ameiko's direction she steps over towards Darhana and the massive Tiefling, then gestures hesitantly to Lars. "Ah, we were just talking about that as well. If we're all interested it would be better to work in harmony, yes?"
  15. Gabriella Marlowe   Gabby doesn't even notice the room as Sarah tells her story, listening with fascination that quickly turns to despair. "Omigosh that's so awful!" Wiping her eye she sits down next to the other girl and puts an arm around her, squeezing with a bit more strength than was probably comfortable. She had gotten into fights with her mom...right? Of course she had, but never anything like that. "She must be so worried about you. But there's lot of smart people here, and superheroes deal with this kind of stuff all the time right? I'm sure they'll be able to figure it out."   Gabby smiles encouragingly even though she seems to be closer to tears than Sarah at the moment. "And I'm not your only friend, you've got...well not Megan, she seems like a bit of a b...but there's Hubris, she's a little weird but seems nice. And then Janice, she's a little...okay so we're ALL a little weird but nice." Laughing she takes off her glasses for a moment to swipe the back of her hand across her eyes. "But I'll definitely be your best friend." The phrase sounded weird to say out loud. "I've never really had a best friend before."
