Played both Pathfinder's game and almost finished Pillars of Eternity. I will try to go on with ToEE probably, I made it to the first ruins outside Hommlet.

@Suzuki Stumpy thank you for your answer 🙂

Last year I thought about starting a Solo RPG to become better at writing. Sadly my procrastination has won every time I tried to start 😔
If anyone has any suggestion about how to stop worrying and start a Solo RPG game, feel free to share them with me 😅

Last night I tried playing The Temple of Elemental Evil, but that game's very hard! I've played Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, but in ToEE I died in the tutorial...
Maybe I should try some other old D&D game 🤔

I'm thinking to start Saga of Old City by Gary Gygax. I'm going to play in a Old School Essentials game set in the World of Greyhawk, and I know very little about that setting.

Greetings everyone.
I have a little question about a feature on this site: the cover on the Profile page.
Which resolution would fit best for the cover?
Thank you in advance for your answers and time.

@Inash do you plan to start the game this weekend (since you'll close the applications on Friday)? I ask because usually people don't post much on weekends.

I'm planning on going as long as I can, preferably all 6 books.
That's what I want to hear!
I know that finishing an entire AP on PbP is really hard, but I hope to go through it all (I've never managed to go last the 3rd module of any AP).

@Inash How long are you thinking this will run? As a "trade" is it a one shot and then be done? If so what is the level range we'll likely hit?
Or do you have intentions to make this a longer running campaign?
I'm curious from a character development standpoint. *shrug*
Reign of Winter should take characters to level 15 or 18, can't remember exactly how far.

@Ryfte summoners give me headaches...
Jokes aside, your best bet is asking in the Paizo forums if your idea is PFS legit, maybe some Venture-Captain can help you get what you want through maybe other ways.
PS: I was sure I'd hit the "Submit" button yesterday for this one, but apparently I forgot; here's my two pennies anyway.

@Inash I agree with the "less is better" ideology. If you prefer we come up with a BG after the group has formed that's fine by me, I have an overall idea about my PC's story (homeland, parents, upbringing, recent events), but maybe I can link my story to those of others, if you like the idea.

@Inash do I need to write a BG before your review? How long does it need to be?

Well, that's where the overlap between classes starts to fudge everything. What's the difference between a paladin and a combat oriented cleric? I'm not sure paladins need to be their own class. Same for rangers and monks--just roll those up into the fighter class.
If you think with a AD&D2E mentality you may be kind of right. I was actually trying to come up with a d20 System inspired ruleset with just 3 main classes (warrior, expert, caster) which can be build as anything you want through skills and feats.

Heh, I've always thought Paladins should stay LG. They are supposed to be based in chivalry. "I will triumph because my heart is pure," as Sir Galahad says.
You're right. That's why in 2E is the champion's subclass with an LG alignment. Because the champion is the warrior dedicated to the Gods, and makes sense that the LG champion's are called paladins. But that doesn't mean that non-LG Gods can't have champion's dedicated to them.

I think it's pretty harmless with Cayden Cailean. It'd be different if it were a paladin of Desna trying to get charisma to hit
I wasn't thinking of power play, I was just taken by surprise by the idea of a "champion" class in 1E (which imo should always have existed, at least through archetypes or class variants).

It is 1e. I guess I did.
What fresh heck have I gotten myself into?
I mean, far from me to hinder another player's ideas for their character, but in 1E there are no CG or NG paladins. The closest thing is a warpriest.
I think there are 3PP for paladins of different alignments, maybe an archetype, but Paizo-wise there's only antipaladins and their tyrant archetype.

Ok. I think that should be ok. You may want to look at the 2e champion for fluff about code of conduct ideas. Specifically here:https://2e.aonprd.com/Causes.aspx?ID=3
Wait, I thought this was PF1E. Did you homebrew a non-LG paladin class?
-
Thanks @Naimless, that's good to know.
I could either go bard for general utility, paladin or swashbuckler for front line (the latter feels more "right" for this AP). I'll brew up something then.
-
@Inashaany suggestion about which kind of character would be useful? If I'm not mistaken you already have three players at the table, what are their characters (race/class)?
I usually tend toward high CHA classes and human-descended races, but I'm always up to try and explore outside my comfort zone.
-
How do you create/find the right portrait for your character? This is something that always leaves me stuck during character creation: I can't find the right portrait no matter what. Right now I'm trying Midjourney, hoping to have some luck.
-
@Sorithar thank you very much for your answers.
Since both half-drow and tiefling are treated like garbage, I think I'll go with a tiefling, steering a bit away from high CHA characters I used to play. I will try to buy some kind of "tinkerer" rogue, maybe adept with complex mechanism1 (it's been a while since I created my last 3.5 PC, but I have everything I need luckily), and find a middle ground between optimization and flavor. I also got my hands on Volo's Guide to the Dalelands, to get a good idea about Mistledale and its people.I have another question though: I saw you can manage up to six players, and there are already three players making a rogue and four players in the party. If I make a different character class-wise would you take it into consideration?
1. Bah, forget it, I'm going to follow my old dream and submit an half-drow bard!

Greetings everyone,
I'm looking for some good short adventures for low level characters, some that could possibly be converted to the Pathfinder First Edition ruleset.
I'm trying to get back into TTRPGs and the Realms, and would like to start with something that doesn't require too much work, and short adventures are great both to test my ability to stick to this project and to find the right people to play with.
Thank you in advance for your help and time.
PS: I hope this is the right place to post this thread, if not let me know so I can delete it and post it in the appropriate category.

Jalek's Flophouse, Starday 15 Patchwall 598 CY (late evening, moderate temperature, partly cloudy, moderate winds)
It's another rather quiet night at the Flophouse, one of many that have lately blessed the little village of Diamond Lake. It's roughly an hour past dinner time, so right now the first floor of the inn is mainly busy with miners trying to find some solace in their cheap meals after a hard day of work, drunkards looking to drown their sorrows in their pints, and some travelers waiting for morning to take on the road again.
