  1. Okay, done with the Hx, highlighted the stat you picked (Just waiting on the other to be highlighted), added the rifle to my gear, and added Alaska's name. I had it picked out when I originally wrote the entry, but guess I never actually put it down.   So barring any issues I should be good to go.
  2. I would like to see the world through Clutch's eyes so I'll highlight Sharp.
  3. I actually really like this idea, how I can see it playing out, is that instead of anything physical that was given but instead used his authority to have Kitty avoid any sort of punishment from stealing from the hold. Her theft was discovered and she was found to be the culprit, and while Judge wanted to issue a harsh punishment, as a stranger stealing from the hold would be a major crime. Instead Barret overruled his enforcer and let Kitty keep everything she had taken and also set her up with a space to set up her clinic, provided of course that she patch up his gang should they get injured during the course of their duties. That work for you? Anything you would want to change/add?   I like this the best, it makes Barret's reaction to Dolly more negative than I initially wanted, but with his awful weird score it makes sense he would be off put someone who is firmly entrenched in the weird.    @DoNotFearToTread That does unfortunately mean we would have to change our Hx. The only one I have left would be that Clutch and Barret knew each from before. I'm thinking that maybe they had a friendly rivalry when they were both mercs? Constantly trying to one up each other with the jobs they took, while Barret settled down and started the hold you kept working, and now either fate or intentional circumstance has brought them back together. Something like that work for you?   I would say maybe have it a little closer, Gateway's garage is awful with only four vehicles for 360+ souls it would be pretty brutal for it to be so far. Maybe 45 minutes to an hour by foot, and if the way is clear?
  4. Fixed, don't know how I got that mixed up. Thank you for the correction.    That idea works for me. I also like the idea that it's part of the reason why Barret settled down. I'm picturing Barret as being older, around mid thirties, so when he got cut out of the deal ti made him take a step back and realize that he has gotten older and slower, and that letting a new generation take over would be better than him and his crew ending up in shallow graves.
  5. So for myself, my questions are:  • Which one of you once left me bleeding, and did nothing for me? For that character, write Hx-2.   • Which one of you has been with me since before? For that character, write Hx+2.   • Which one of you has betrayed or stolen from me? For that character, write Hx+3.   @Fletcher I like the idea of Barret having put a hand in when it mattered most. The first thought I had was that Barret had given freely of his own resources to Kitty / her clinic when she was trying to help a complete stranger. If you have something else in mind or want to change things, I am okay with that too.   @KingGoblin  That leaves Dolly having watched Barret for some time. Do you have any thoughts as to why? As for Barret his personal feeling on her would be that while she is definitely weird, as long as she didn't do anything too dangerous he wouldn't mind having her around. And, just maybe, having a stable place to call home might make her even slightly less weird.   @DoNotFearToTread Lastly, I would say that Clutch couldn't trust Barret. Since he isn't one to put down roots, it seems like he is fairly new to either the area or the hold specifically. While Barret can appreciate having an extra skilled gun around, if it came down to a choice between either Clutch or his people, I feel like both parties know exactly how that coin would land.
  6. Okay a couple things: One are you cool if I pick up the rifle from the Gun-lugger play book? I would like Barret to have a long arm like in the picture. Secondly, their isn't actually someone named [Blank], I wanted to leave a spot open that way if someone wanted to fill that role there would be space for them. If no one decides they want to I can come up with someone. Thirdly and finally, the map for Gateway does say LaGuardia, but I'm not implying we should be set in NYC, I liked the map and it got the creative muscles working. But if people want to be in the remnants of NYC, that's fine with me too.
  7.  Barrett the Hardholder "Welcome to Gateway, we have whatever your heart desires, you only need to ask." Description and Personality Barret has a massive body, but with a soft face and cool eyes. Normal wear is work wear.   Barret was born in a hold that instead giving names, instead give people numbers. To this day Barret still has a tattoo of of his number "3-1-7" on his left wrist. He left the hold as soon as he was old enough, and began working any odd job he could find. He quickly found that the world was a violent place, and that he was a master of violence.    He became a renowned as a merc, and amassed a small crew of cut throats loyal to him. After one particularly dangerous job of clearing out an airport of the eldritch horrors that had gathered there, he suddenly decided he was done with traveling, done with being a merc and was going to set up shop in the very airport that they had just cleaned up. Their client wasn't happy about his decision, but that was a problem easily fixed with a bullet.     In the intervening years through hard work and selective use of force, he and his gang have managed to turn Gateway into a thriving trade hub, drawing in people from all over. STATS Cool: +1 Hard: +2 Highlighted Hot: +1 Sharp: +1 Weird: -2 Experience: 0/5  Harm: 0/6 History Clutch - Hx+2 "Knew of Clutch before I settled down, he and I were always going for the same jobs, always trying to push each other further and to be better than the day before. Without him I don't think I would be half the murk I was. It's good he's back in town, might shake some of the rust off me." Kitty - Hx+3 "Despite the sweet demeanor the first time meeting Kitty was almost a blood bath. Heh. She got caught with her hands all over Gateway supplies, dumb move, people who do that usually end up dead. I saw the potential in this one, and Judge still hates the decision to this day." Dolly - Hx-2 "Dolly is a weird one, on one hand my instincts scream that she is a danger, but on the other hand she is merely a kid stuck in this rotten world. Also her friendship with Kitty proves that their is some humanity left in her. Though, if she ever becomes a danger to Gateway, I'll have no qualms about sending her packing." Moves Leadershipwhen you have to order your gang to advance, regroup, hold position, hold discipline, or put their damn backs into it, roll+hard. On a hit, they do it. On a 10+, they snap to; take +1forward. On a miss, they do it, but you’ll hear about it later.   WealthIf your hold is secure and your rule unchallenged, at the beginning of the session, roll+hard. On a 10+, you have surplus at hand and available for the needs of the session. On a 7–9, you have surplus, but choose 1 want. On a miss, or if your hold is compromised or your rule contested, your hold is in want. The precise values of your surplus and want depend on your holding, as follows. Gear and Barter Weapons: Hunting RifleHarm-3, Far, Loud 9mm Pistol2-harm, close, loud Big Knife2-harm, close Armor: Bulletproof Vest1-armor Improvements Improvement: Description and Effect Gateway  Gateway, true to it's name is an old airport, and two planes currently sit there; one is broken and is unfit for habitation sitting at Gate D, the other is a fully together plane that sits at terminal B, but Barret has claimed it has his own personal residence. For the rest of the 360 souls that live in Gateway they are allowed to set up where ever they want in the other terminals so long as they leave the main way clear, leading to a rather confusing layout to anyone not familiar with the habitable area of Gateway. The market place sits out in the open air between terminals B and C, with a fence that surrounds it, and the only way through is by going through the security checkpoint on the lower level. The upper level over looks market and is staffed by some of the gang keeping an eye out for any disturbances in the market, and keeping an eye on the horizon to watch out for threats.   Statistics: 300 PeopleGigs: Hunting, Crude farming, Scavenging, Market Commons Wants: Hungry, Disease, Strangers Surplus: +3 Barter 60 Gang Members(2-harm gang, large, 1-armor Small Garage2 Utility Vehicles 2 Battle Vehicles The Gang The big boss is Barret himself. His word is law in Gateway. Below him sits the "Jackets", which includes Alaska, his right hand woman and second in command of the hold. Her word is only superseded by Barret's, and he can count the number of times he's had to override her orders on one hand. She has been with Barret since his merc days. They have an on again of again relationship, it's clear that they care about each other a lot but neither one of them is willing to open up and take that vulnerable step. Next is Judge, the local lawman. His sole job in the hold is to maintain order. If two parties can't solve a disagreement between themselves Judge gets called and lays the law down. Judge was on the of the first arrivals to Gateway, even before it had an official name. He worked his way up through the ranks of the gang by proving himself to have a good head on his shoulders and a firm moral compass. Finally there is [Blank] who oversees the day to day running, and assignments of the squads.  Rank the gang is done by colors; Reds, Blues, and Greens. Reds are the bottom of the totem pole and make up the majority of the gang. If a gang member is new to the crew they are forced to wear only red until they complete their training. Blues are next and there are only ten of them. Each one is in charge of a squad of reds. Finally there are the greens, of which there are 7, five of them over see two blues and their squads, while one green oversees the armory, and the last one is in charge of the garage and keeping the few vehicles the hold has up in working order. The gang is well trained for a gang, those that act out are either quickly corrected by their fellow members or find themselves not long for the hold as the Jackets are not the forgiving type.
  8. Time for some dice rolls, may lady luck smile upon me.   *Edit* Smile, she did.

  10. As for myself, I did decide to stick with a Hardholder. Got most of the details I want nailed down, just working out the hold specifically.
  11. I like the idea.    That's probably a good compromise. The thought I was running with was that different settlements had different time rates, but that would most likely be too much extra book-keeping.
  12. Do we have any ideas for how long the world has been this way? Years, decades, even longer?
  13. I am very interested. How do you feel about Hardholders? Do you think they would have a place in this game or do you picture the group moving around a lot?
