Thalgack, Kai and Ethraniel need to make Perception saves (11+ on 1d20) to notice the old man whispering to Rhys. They can't hear what is said.

The Cedar Forest, night
Rhys:
The old man stirs coughs and slowly turns his head to look at the adventurer, "I am not well, friend elf. You must help me ..." Then in a half-whispered tone he speaks words in a tongue unknown to the huntsman ...

Freedom City around midnight (Day One)
Vendetta:
"Good evening from the Caymans - or is it morning there already?" DeAndre yawns, "Seamus, Le Soleil d'Or is ... unbelievable. Just watching the nightime beaches from my suite. Trying to relax - what's up?"

Emphasis mine.
If you aren't enjoying the system or setting or whatever, find what works. The purpose of games is to have fun 😃

The Cedar Forest
Everyone:
The old injured man closes his eyes and lays motionless at the edge of the lake as the dogs begin barking less aggressively and the horses calm a bit ...
SceneNothing else happens concerning the old man. There's still roughly four hours until sunrise. Do the adventurers go back to their camp to rest?

The Plains
Once again the victims of famished Lemurian wildlife, at least this time the adventurers could possible make some thing of a loss: while the caravan had lost several horses - mostly the unmounted mares of slain guardsmen - with the exceptional skill of Karim and others the party manages to quickly tame a couple of the kroarks for use as mounts!
Everyone has an unexpected but equally satisfying laugh when Elkor's attempt at 'breaking' one of the 'dragons' resulted in the Valgardian being bucked into the air and landing on the ground in a dusty heap!
KroarksTwo of the PCs can take one of the large bipedal lizards as mounts and their two legs can easily keep pace with the caravan's remaining horses ...

Freedom City
Vendetta:
Driven by his deep desire to avenge his loved ones, Seamus has an unexpected breakthrough that cuts his calculated design and engineering time in half - the suit's enhancements would be complete in no more than two days! During his short breaks though Seamus couldn't escape wondering about DeAndre, ASTRO Labs and now Majestic Industries ...
Grigori:
Thomas and Ma'at talk at length about GEG's plan to launch a new group that would include Myra and him, as well as personal chat about how they both even ended up drawn to music. After Crossbones finishes their set, Jameson excuses herself to congratulate Myra and her band-mates - but she Thomas not to leave just yet ...
JamesonMa'at has been flirting more and more as the night went on. If you're okay with it, this evening would end with a 'romantic encounter' between she and Thomas. Nothing explicit - I'd just move to the following morning.
If not that's fine.Ironworks:
Having completed his first 'clandestine' act without the costume, Jake knew he'd taken another big step towards establishing himself a true hero of Freedom City! But he couldn't ignore the importance of finding a trustworthy connection somehow: the other superheroes? Commissioner Kane? The lawyer Faye Nelson? Who? Jake's real cell rang - it was his brother: it was their Poker night with the boys and he wanted to know if it was his turn to bring food or beers ...?
Preserver:
With everything checking out at the center, Paul had his night ahead of him: he could hang out at the center helping with the boys and dinner, cruise into Freedom City's lucrative evening delivery period or maybe find something else to do with himself ...

Sine Nomine's "Without Number" systems are pretty easy lifting for a new group so check 'em out 👍

Hey, all!
I'm the Editor-in-Chief of a new fanzine which covers the World of Greyhawk and is wide-open to submissions for various editions and rules systems, as well as rules-free articles. We have two issues out and a third one in progress.
If you are interested, grab a copy from the site. It's free.

Look I don't have a problem with moderate post length but some of you .... you DO realize only so much can happen within the space of what your PC is doing right? There's only so much information to confer to THE GROUP. Maybe you haven't read comic books and experienced the fast-paced nature of communication.
IME players tend to gloss over GM info dumps so I try to condense as much info as possible in shorter posts leaving room for player questions. It's old-school and being a good GM. Please don't beat the group to death with 'substantial' posts that require everyone to absorb several layers of information that matter most to that PC.
TLDR: Respect the attention span of modern gamers 😉

The Plains
Everyone:
The night is a restless one as the two guardsmen cover the entire watch often accidentally waking the adventurers with their whispered conversations ... but almost too soon dawn arrives and after checking gear and horses - the guardsmen have a bit of trouble gathering the rider-less horses of their slain companions until the adventurers assist them - the caravan resumes its hurried voyage towards the city of Lysor!
Over the next few days the caravan maintains its quick pace pushing their steeds to the limit as the group gallops north across the grasslands of Lemuria occasionally passing small villages or fellow travelers on the road. Tired from the trail and within a day's ride of Parsool where their ship The Sea Rose awaits the caravan is beset by a massive drakk swarming over a frightened pack of kroarks dashing and darting to avoid being eaten! The caravan's appearance serves only to distract the dragon-monster as for the next few minutes the drakk drops down on the party's horses slaying them with huge bites from them! It's minutes before the adventurers can scare the drakk away but the toll is already heavy: six horses killed to include three belonging to adventurers!
As they survey the situation the Arch-Bishop notices the nearby kroarks creaping closer to the stopped caravan, "Kroarks are trainable. We've heard of mercenary groups using them as mounts. We don't have much time but ... can you ...?" A few of the large bipedal reptiles wander up to the caravan 'squarking' for food ...

How do we make our sheets private? We used to have that option but now I can't find it.

Interest Check: Mutants & Masterminds
in Gaming Discussion
Posted · Edited by Jedaii (see edit history)
Recently I attained some space for another one-shot-style adventure. I've run two one-shots to completion here, have two one-shots and a campaign currently going but unfortunately had to end a couple adventures as well. As much as I hate it, I can't win 'em all 😌
But I want to reboot Death Duel with the Destroyers and run the sequel adventure, The Island of Doctor Apocalypse!
Players from the previous adventure are welcomed and gain an edge on selection. I used TSR's Marvel Super Heroes RPG with the last adventure but for this new run I'll be switching to Mutants and Masterminds 3e as the system flows a little better for superheroes IME. Interested players of the previous adventure can create a new PC or work with me to convert their original PC to M&M. This is a crazy combat-heavy adventure that depends heavily on the superhero PCs working together in an isolated and dangerous setting against a very powerful opponent. The adventure begins in an alternate modern-day San Francisco where superhumans are as common as in comic books like The Avengers and The Justice League.
Almost looks like an ad but I'm just at the "interest" phase here - anyone game?
