  1. Two very different concepts. One is a light and stealthy ninja, the other tough and smash the hulk ;)
  2. Deidre O'Ceallaigh Human Artificer 5 AC: 20 (Splintmail+1 and shield) | HP: 47/47 | Initiative: +1 | Passive Perception: 13 Spell Slots: 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/2 | Spell Attack: +7 | Spell DC: 15 Misty step: 1 (1xday) | Hex: 1 (1xday) | DM Inspiration: 1/1 | Active infusion: Enhanced defense (splintmail), Duplicate item (bag of holding) Deidre listened intently to the group as they shared their findings. She was impressed by the collaborative effort that had gone into deciphering the inscriptions. The translations, though still somewhat cryptic, provided valuable clues. As the team discussed the potential meaning of the riddles, Deidre's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Axes and swords will not help you through... It does sound like a key or some kind of mechanism," she mused. Willowveil's interpretation resonated with her, and Taborlin's suggestion about the fort added another layer to consider. When the doors finally rumbled open, Deidre felt a mix of excitement and apprehension. She watched as the ancient mechanisms came to life, the doors revealing a passage that led to a grand staircase. The dense mist and untouched dust spoke of an age-old mystery waiting to be unraveled. She noted Question's analytical approach and Willowveil's gracious acceptance of the compliment. Deidre appreciated the growing camaraderie among the group, especially how Question and Willowveil had started to acknowledge each other's strengths. Deidre then turned her attention to Noodles, who was already eager to lead the way. His enthusiasm was contagious. She started to follow him behind, lighting another torch as she advance. As she passed the door, she addressed the group, her voice steady and encouraging. "Noodles, your eagerness is infectious. Lead the way, but let's all stay alert. This place seems untouched for ages, and who knows what we might encounter. Those who were allowed the secret of entering this place probably had the right to go there without threat to their wellbeing. intruders smart enough to pass the door but weren't meant to be there have probably dangerous surprises waiting for them inside. Let's be careful at every steps." She moved to help distribute their gear, making sure everyone had what they needed. She handed a torch to anyone without dark vision, keeping one for herself "We have come this far by working together," she said, looking around at her companions. "Let's keep that spirit as we descend. If anyone sees or senses anything unusual, speak up immediately. We must be cautious but also ready to embrace whatever secrets this place holds." As she prepared to follow the group down the staircase, Deidre couldn't shake the feeling that they were on the brink of a significant discovery. The thrill of the unknown spurred her on, her curiosity and determination unwavering. She marched in front of the group slowly behind Noodles, looking around for traps or other surprises.
  3. Roland Weisley Roland stayed stoic as the gnome punched him the first time, but he blinked rapidly and grinned as she attempted another one that had absolutely no effect. After about two seconds, a chuckle escaped his lips. "Well, that was unexpected," he said, feigning a dramatic wince and holding his stomach. "Next time, Rillik, warn me before you unleash your fury. I might need to get some extra padding." He reached out and gently patted her shoulder. "I get it, Rillik. You're passionate about order, honesty, loyalty, and discipline. And that's a good thing. But things are not that simple for everyone... But we need the fire in your veins. But... aim it at our enemies next time, alright? With extreme prejudice please." Roland's attempt at humor, combined with his genuine understanding, was his way of defusing the situation, hoping to bring a smile to Rillik's face and remind everyone that they were stronger together. "Aly, your generosity is beyond what we deserve. But we'll take it anyway!" he said boisterously, winking at the bard with a large, warm smile.
  4. Sorry about that! :( If you want, I can pull mine and rewrite someting. I got time tonight for a change ;)
  5. Roland Weisley Roland observed the intense exchange unfolding around him, feeling a storm of emotions brewing within the group. The tension was thick, like a rope pulled taut, ready to snap at any moment. He couldn't help but think back to the many skirmishes he had led where such tensions could spell disaster if left unchecked. His instincts kicked in, pushing him to intervene before the situation escalated further. "By Tymora's tits, this has turned into quite the spectacle," Roland muttered, rubbing the bridge of his nose as if to ward off a headache. "We're starting to sound like a bunch of bards arguing over the right lyrics to a song none of us know how to sing. No offense Aly - you're one of the good one among them." He kept the comment hang in the air a moment. With a sigh, Roland stepped forward, raising his voice slightly to command attention. "Alright, everyone, let's take a deep breath and step back for a moment. We've got enough enemies outside our camp; we don't need to start turning on each other." He turned to Torben, his expression softening. "Torben, your quest is your own, and we respect that. You've got your reasons, and they're yours to keep. Just know that we're in this together now, whether we like it or not. And as much as we want answers, we also need to trust each other to make it through whatever madness awaits us. I'm truly sorry for being pushy and intrusive..." Next, he addressed Rillik with a gentle but firm tone. "Rillik, you're right to be cautious. Secrets can be dangerous, but so can suspicion. Let's give Ragz and Yontu the benefit of the doubt for now. If there are any more surprises, we'll deal with them as they come, together. Keep it together soldier, an stay the head cool. I don't doubt you know how to use your wand and keep the damage to the minimum, but a fight would only attract outside attention and there is always a chance of collateral. Especially when involving magic and emotions." Finally, Roland looked at Ragz and Yontu, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "And Ragz, Yontu... it seems we've all been thrown into this mess by fate or Tymora's twisted sense of humor. Let's not add more fuel to the fire. We need each other more than ever." With a quick flick of his wrist, Roland made the stick reappear, twirling it between his fingers before tossing it lightly toward Yontu. "Let's focus on what's important. We're a team, whether we like it or not. And if we can't laugh at the absurdity of it all, then we're in deeper trouble than we thought. Maybe it is what the enemies we have want, to create a schism in our group after all." He hoped his words would help defuse the situation, using humor and a touch of levity to remind everyone that despite their differences, they were in this together. For a moment, he was surprised of his own words and attitude.
  6. I get it now! The dog is Elminster nudging us toward an adventure!
  7. I just imagined a druid looking at the heavily wounded fighter of his group with mean round eyes, saying ''You want to be healed? EAT YOUR DAMN BERRIES! ALL OF 'EM!'' while pointing at the pumpkins patch he just created. *Dying*
  8. Can't wait to see inside the dog guts * butcher knife sharpening sounds*
  9. I vote that we don't give a damn about the spell being use this way, and that the cool factor goes before the limitations of the spell description.
  10. Deidre O'Ceallaigh Human Artificer 5 AC: 20 (Splintmail+1 and shield) | HP: 47/47 | Initiative: +1 | Passive Perception: 13 Spell Slots: 1st 4/4, 2nd 2/2 | Spell Attack: +7 | Spell DC: 15 Misty step: 1 (1xday) | Hex: 1 (1xday) | DM Inspiration: 1/1 | Active infusion: Enhanced defense (splintmail), Duplicate item (bag of holding) Deidre watched with keen interest as Question assisted the group in ascending the cliff. She admired the efficiency and precision in the automaton's movements, her methodical approach a stark contrast to Noodles' agile climb. When Question finally reached the top, dirty but otherwise unscathed, Deidre felt a sense of relief. As the Tiny Hut materialized, Deidre found herself in awe of the magical structure. She had seen it before, but its utility never ceased to amaze her. Question's request for more light near the inscriptions was met with quick action. Watching closely, she noted the ritual casting of the spell to comprehend languages. When it failed, Deidre felt a pang of disappointment but also intrigue. "A language even magic can't decipher," she mused aloud. "This just keeps getting more interesting." "The illustrations are quite prominent," she commented, examining the depiction of water crashing against something. "It might be symbolic. Let's follow Question's suggestion." As Question began studying the inscriptions, Deidre couldn't help but be impressed by her thoroughness. She observed the meticulous recording and analysis with fascination, knowing that such detailed work was beyond her own capabilities. When Question finally spoke, requesting water to be poured on the door, Deidre immediately rummaged through her supplies. Deidre took her tinderbox and lighted a torch, placing it on the ground. Then she drew a waterskin from her magic bag. "Let's see if it reveals anything." she said as she is pouring water from her waterskin on the door. She watched eagerly as water was poured on the illustration. If this didn't yield results, she was ready to suggest other possible interpretations of the symbols.
  11. Very important to wrap a Gnome with sliced ham as a part of the ritual.
  12. The first part caught my attention: axes and swords will not help you through -et it and little push will do. So, the first two words refer to objects of violence, indicating that you can't force your way in. This suggests that entry isn't possible through brute force (which we already know - doors are impervious to damage). It implies that if you're not meant to enter, you won't be able to without something specific. This could be a password, a person (hopefully not), or a particular object like a key or activation wand. There's no visible keyhole, so you might need to present or touch the surface with the object (possibly water, considering the waves around), assuming it's not a metaphorical object. Now, regarding the phrase "through -et it," I'm not sure I fully understand it, as it seems to be missing some words and context, but I think it litterally mean ''through it''. It need something to go through it without forcing the door? Question hypothesis about water might be plausible, maybe it is also something else. But consider this: "a little push will do" is intriguing. We're in front of doors, and violence won't open them ("axes and swords will not help"), but something else might. What other ways can you open a door without violence by letting something through it? To open a door without violence, you typically need a method, like using a key, which then requires only a gentle push after using it. I think we need a key. Perhaps it's something related to a sea god (at a temple?). Maybe the key is also metaphorical, and we need an object that act like a key, related to the water/sea/river?

  15. Name: Leaf Character Concept. Leaf is an ex-Phiarlan Warforged, trained in ninjitsu, who became an independent mercenary after fleeing the conflict between House Phiarlan and House Thuranni, unable to choose a side. Lineage, Background, Planned-Subclass Class. Warforged spy, Battlemaster (future) Description. Appearance Leaf is a Warforged of distinct design, standing at a slightly shorter and leaner stature compared to typical Warforged. His body is crafted from a combination of darkweave, darkwood, mithril, and adamantium, giving him a dark, metallic sheen that is both light and incredibly sturdy. His chassis is adorned with elegant golden trimmings of traditional elven design, adding an air of sophistication to his otherwise utilitarian form. Leaf's face is featureless except for a slightly glowing slit where his eyes are, providing a haunting, almost spectral quality to his appearance. Demeanor and Bearing From across the room, Leaf appears composed and contemplative, with a calm and measured demeanor. His movements are deliberate and precise, reflecting his disciplined training. While he does not come across as overtly gregarious or inviting, neither does he seem hostile or unapproachable. Instead, he exudes a quiet confidence and a sense of watchful awareness. His bearing suggests a warrior at rest, alert but not aggressive. Facial Expressions and Mannerisms Leaf's lack of traditional facial features limits his range of expressions, but his body language communicates much. When at ease, he maintains a posture of serene calm, his glowing eye slit softly pulsating. In conversation, he inclines his head slightly toward the speaker, indicating attentiveness and respect. His voice, a raspy metallic sound, is slow and deliberate, adding to his composed and thoughtful demeanor. Interaction Style When speaking with others, Leaf maintains a respectful distance, leaning in slightly to show engagement but never invading personal space. He is not one to dominate conversations, preferring to listen intently and respond with measured, thoughtful remarks. His manner is polite and considerate, making those he interacts with feel heard and respected. Overall Impression Overall, Leaf comes across as a figure of calm and quiet strength. He does not seek to draw attention to himself but naturally commands a certain level of respect through his composed demeanor and disciplined bearing. His presence is reassuring to those who know him and intriguingly enigmatic to strangers. In social settings, he blends in rather than stands out, but his unique appearance and the quiet confidence he exudes ensure he is not easily forgotten. Your Character’s Plothook. ''The Mournlands are a dangerous and unpredictable place. The Lightning Rail that travels to and fro within is specially equipped and boasts a significant security presence.'' Past is Prologue. Backstory Leaf was created by House Cannith as a special order from House Phiarlan, who sought Warforged enforcers to support their elite agents during the war. His model was outfitted with the finest materials available, awakened, and then sent into the sewers of Sharn to be trained in secret by goblin shinobi subcontractors. Over the years, Leaf mastered ninjutsu and taijutsu, adopting the goblins' ruthlessness and clever tactics. Impressed by the Warforged's quick learning, the goblins were rewarded with one of the Warforged as part of their payment. After their underground training, Leaf and his fellow Warforged were assigned to Phiarlan shadow hunter teams, tasked with recovering documents, kidnapping government officials, assassinating targets, and conducting other black ops. Leaf thrived in this work, appreciating the tactical challenges and the house agents' fair treatment. However, the Shadow Schism—the split of House Phiarlan—shattered his sense of purpose. While most Warforged chose sides, Leaf felt loyal to individuals rather than the house itself, which led him to flee, boarding a random airship to escape the conflict. After weeks of travel, the airship crashed near the village of Mistmarch. The villagers who came to help found everyone dead except Leaf, whom they repaired. He truthfully claimed not to remember the cause of the accident but falsely asserted he had little memory of his past. Welcoming him into their community, the villagers made Leaf a member of the Mistmarch guard. After some time living at the village, despite every one appreciating him and caring, he decided to depart to find adventures, his soul craving for the excitement and adventure like when he was working for the Dragonmark House. He settled course to Sharn in hope to find employment into something that would dust of his old skills during the war. Include at least two of the following in your application: Loyalties. Leaf is mostly loyal to himself and those close to him, but seeing old friends and people he knew from the house Pharlian/Turrani may awaken sympathy from him. Is Might Right? Yes absolutely. The victory and the spoil is to the ones alive and winning. He believe that the end justify the means. Deity. Dol Arrah. Leaf's sense of loyalty, honor, and protectiveness toward those who treat him well align with Dol Arrah's virtues. Additionally, his willingness to defend the villagers of Mistmarch and his honorable conduct in tactical situations reflect the values upheld by Dol Arrah. This deity's emphasis on justice and protecting others would resonate with Leaf's journey from a ruthless enforcer to a dedicated guardian. Music.

It was heartening to see their bond, their shared aspirations weaving them together. As Nico opened up about his own journey and the lessons imparted by his master, Razig nodded in agreement. "Your master speaks true wisdom," he replied, a sense of respect coloring his words. "It is quite fascinating to find the same insight from two people that I'm sure walked very different path." Turning his gaze toward the bustling streets, Razig pondered Nico's question about the wait. "Patience is indeed a virtue, especially when dealing with matters of faith," he mused with a slight chuckle, his voice carrying a hint of understanding. "But fret not, Boz. The passage of time may be slow, but it is inevitable. Haresh will arrive in due course, guided by the currents of fate." As Nico pulled out a mirror and began to examine his appearance, Razig couldn't help but smile at the gesture. "A curious thought indeed," he remarked, his interest piqued by the notion of magic and reflection. Of course, his understanding of the arcane was sufficient that he knew for a fact that the bird would have a reflection, but Razig was pleased to see the Catfolk curiosity transforming into an actual experience to discover and understand a magical phenomenom by himself.
