  1. Branek Goldbeard - Dwarf Paladin AC: 18/20 (Chain/Shield) | HP: 60/60 | HD: 7/7d10 | Initiative: +0 | PP: 16 | Channel Divinity: 1/1 | Harness Divine Power: 2/2 | DM Inspiration: 0/1   Branek Goldbeard stood before the high-powered portal device, his armored form a steadfast sentinel amidst the humming machinery. The brilliant golden hue of his beard caught the ambient light, creating an almost ethereal glow. His armor, adorned with religious symbols and texts, bore the weight of centuries of devotion to the Order of the Radiant Dawn. His fingers gently touched the holy symbol that hung from his neck, a sign of his unyielding faith. As he observed the intricate device before him, Branek's mind churned with a mixture of wonder and cautious curiosity. The portal's intricate design held the promise of traversing vast distances, a power that both intrigued and gave rise to apprehension. Fiends and malevolent forces often sought to exploit such ancient technologies, and Branek's duty was to ensure that the light of the divine shone bright even in the darkest corners of the cosmos. He closed his eyes for a moment, his lips moving in a silent melodic prayer. The notes of the prayer seemed to weave with the surrounding energy, creating a sense of harmony between the arcane and the divine. With each verse, his grip on the holy symbol tightened, drawing strength from the Order he represented and the powers that guided his path. As he opened his eyes, they settled on the portal once more. The faint scent of Frostmead lingered on his breath, a reminder of his heritage and the dwarven traditions that had shaped him. The warmth of the drink, distilled from the finest ingredients, resonated within him, infusing his being with a sense of resilience and determination. Branek's thoughts turned to the potential of the portal—a bridge to new worlds, new challenges, and new evils that might threaten the galaxy. But he was not without optimism, for the presence of the Order's symbols and his unwavering faith had the power to transmute darkness into light. His role as an inquisitor for the divine was not confined to the material plane alone; it extended to the realms beyond, where ancient powers and cosmic forces vied for dominance. With a deep breath, he exhaled, the Frostmead and cigar smoke mingling with the air. His eyes held a mixture of reverence and resolve as he prepared to step forward into the unknown. The portal's hum grew louder, and as he walked towards it, his golden beard swayed like a banner of hope against the backdrop of uncertainty. Branek Goldbeard, Paladin of the Order of the Radiant Dawn, was ready to face whatever lay beyond the threshold. His faith, his symbols, and the lingering essence of Frostmead intertwined to guide his steps and protect against the fiendish shadows that lurked in the void.

  3. Branek Goldbeard - Dwarf Paladin AC: 18/20 (Chain/Shield) | HP: 60/60 | HD: 7/7d10 | Initiative: +0 | PP: 16 | Channel Divinity: 1/1 | Harness Divine Power: 2/2 | DM Inspiration: 0/1 As the other Dwarves continue their conversation, they notice that Branek is unmoving and unblinking, save for the censer gently swinging to and fro. His eyes, staring off light-years into the distance directly at their ship. Branek's unyielding focus on the ship and the distant stare in his eyes gave the other dwarves a moment of uncertainty. They exchanged glances, wondering if their words had truly reached the Paladin or if something else had captured his attention. However, as the censer's gentle swing came to a halt, Branek blinked, snapping back to the present moment. He took a long drag from his cigar, the fragrant smoke surrounding him once more. The uneasy feeling that had briefly taken hold dissipated, replaced by the sight of their inquisitor once again fully engaged. Apologizing for his momentary lapse, Branek explains that many of the threats around are not seen by just the eyes, and require vigilance to detect their subtle corruption. His brief detachment seemed like a mere ripple in the pool of their conversation, for Branek remained steadfast in his duty and commitment. The golden aura of divine protection, which adorned his armor, was a testament to the power he wielded in the face of fiendish threats. As the other dwarves conversed, Branek began to paint the symbols onto the new torpedoes. While painting, Branek occasionally added insights about the Order's encounters with fiends and the measures they had taken to protect against their malevolence. Throughout the discussion, the golden beard of the Paladin glimmered as if it, too, held a spark of the divine. The sight of him, adorned with symbols of protection and a cigar between his lips, painted a picture of a guardian ever watchful, dedicated to the safety of his crew and their ship. As Branek continued to paint the symbols on the torpedoes, his voice took on a melodic tone as he began to sing the Goldbeard family's ballad. The words resonated with a rich history and deep connection to their ancestry, weaving a tale of strength, honor, and resilience through the ages. The other dwarves couldn't help but feel drawn in by the power of his voice, even as the symbols he painted were infused with protective energies against the fiends. As the ballad reached its crescendo, Branek paused for a moment, his eyes glancing to each of his newfound companions. "The Goldbeard lineage has always been bound by the sacred ties of our ancestors," he said with a hint of pride. "We carry the legacy of our kind wherever we go, and it is our duty to honor our heritage by standing firm against the darkness that seeks to consume the galaxy." He turned his attention back to the ship and the torpedoes, his expression serious. "You have a capable team of engineers, that is true," he acknowledged, "but the fiends we face are cunning and relentless. With the power of divine protection, we shall be better equipped to face the unseen dangers that lurk beyond the stars." With a practiced hand, Branek continued painting the sacred symbols, infusing the torpedoes with the protective essence. "These sigils will weaken the fiends' defenses, giving us a fighting chance when we encounter their malevolence," he explained. "And should we ever come face-to-face with their dark forces, these symbols will serve as a shield to keep us safe." Once the task was complete, Branek stepped back, observing his work with a sense of satisfaction. "There, it is done," he said, taking another drag from his cigar. "Our ship is now guarded by the strength of the Order of the Radiant Dawn. Together, we shall face whatever challenges the galaxy throws our way, and with the grace of the divine, we shall emerge victorious." His golden beard shimmered in the light as he gave a firm nod to his companions, silently conveying his commitment to their shared mission. The uneasy feeling the dwarves had experienced earlier now waned, replaced by a sense of confidence and determination. Branek, the steadfast inquisitor of the holy institution, had joined their crew, and with him came the protection of ages past, guiding them towards their destiny among the stars. With a voice carrying an air of authority, tempered by warmth and genuine interest, he spoke: "Greetings, esteemed dwarves of this station. I am Branek Goldbeard, Paladin of the Order of the Radiant Dawn. It is an honor to meet fellow dwarves in these turbulent times." His eyes moved from one dwarf to the next, studying their expressions and gauging their presence. After a moment's pause, he continued, "I am here on a sacred mission, sent forth by the Order to ensure the light of righteousness shines amidst the encroaching darkness. But I am equally curious about your own paths and the journeys that have brought you to this station." Branek's gaze shifted, his attention focused on Bhalgurn. "Bhalgurn, tell me, what tales lie woven into the tapestry of your past? Have you been a steadfast champion of honor and virtue?" His attention then turned to Kutaeg, studying the dwarf's demeanor. "And you, Kutaeg, what experiences have shaped your path? Do you walk the path of righteousness, or does a different alignment guide your actions?" Finally, Branek's eyes rested upon Grommash. "Grommash, mighty warrior, what stories lie etched upon your heart? Is your past one of noble deeds and a commitment to the greater good?" As the group prepares their responses, Branek pulls out a censer and uses his cigar to light the incense. He gently sways the censer as the others continue on...   Mechanics Main Hand: Maul Off Hand: None Action: None Bonus Action: None Move: None Manipulate: None. Free: Speech.
  5. Apparently Twitch decided to start sending me email notifications and flooded my inbox so I missed the reminder I set up here.   As to the background for my character, the sailing was a metaphor (specifically chat gpt added that flair) and I liked it and kept it. I can change it up to be more "interstellar" than "oceanic" if it helps.

  7. Hello! My name is Rob. This is my first time on mythweaver and it sounds pretty exciting.  Thanks for the invite @Morph3us! I was thinking about creating a Paladin to help guide the party with the nuances of the Celestial - Demon struggle.  Do you have any inspirations for the tone of the universe (warhammer, etc)?  I'd like to make sure my character backstory flows well with the world.
