  1. That isn't an issue! You're free to join, naturally. I'll peruse the character in a new pass this weekend.
  2. A mounted character would be both practical and not. There will be instances of overworld travel, there will be dungeons and areas where it is impractical. The hardest part about it will be keeping a mount... alive, basically. You will be moving around with a walking meat stick, so far as the undead are concerned. That said, I'm not going to disallow it.     Both your requests are approved by me.
  3. In the interest of not getting carried away any further in the Pre-Game RP thread, I'm going to stop posting and await the announcement of the vote tally! I know I'm throwing a hail mary with a character whose personality is as strong as Ganth's, but who knows! May the best folks win! Best of luck to everyone! 🤠
  4. @Little_Rudo Your druidcraft clairvoyance is approved.
  5. Unless I or someone else misspoke, which happens from time to time, the deadline has always been September 30th, as listed by the advertisement.
  6. This looks great! Makes me wonder what battle attire looks like! 🤔 But I feel you on the BG3 possession. I, too, have made several runs at it by this point.
  7. The purpose of the Pre-Game RP thread is, primarily, for me to get an idea of your literary/posting style, and to see who meshes well from a player and character perspective. It's not really about "cliquing" up before the game by any means — though sometimes that happens — and, instead, shows me how certain players (characters) will interact with a scene, and those in it, in a way that makes sense for them on a conceptual level. Talky characters will talk more. Broody characters will brood more. As long as you're showing us what you've got, and making the best of it (ie, trying to have fun), then it's all good to me. I see it more as an opportunity to show a GM/DM what you bring to the table RP-wise, not just character-wise. Some people like playing with a scene, others enjoy detailing NPCs, or starting up side-scenes/scenarios, etcetera. There's really no correct answer. TL;DR, it's not about who talks the most, haha. For me, it's more about who I think will vibe best with the game, myself, and others.

The sad sap's sudden change of demeanor did force another quirk to the warrior's brow, but after double-taking back to the source, Amberlyn, he concluded that there must've been a history there for which he had no prior knowledge — or interest for that matter. So it was that, without much else ado, he sneered at the other fellow's off-putting wink but took to the proffered drink nonetheless; it was the least he could do. The ale goes down without a hitch, gulped down quicker than a gnoll might the marrow of a bone. "Supposedly, this place is a hot bed of quests and adventurers-in-the-making," Ganth exhaled through his latest draught. "Can't say I've been too impressed with that I've encountered thus far — whole lot of thin skin and breakable bones, iffin' you know what I mean." The back of his hand come up to wipe clean any residual froth or alcohol. "Too much time in a place like this makes you weak, though. Not their fault, I guess." A gob of spit is shot out across the floor; it is the summation of his critique on urbanite frailty, so to speak. "But maybe that means there's a shot at redemption for your sorry ass, and a place to put to use her —" Ganth wasn't quite sure what, exactly, Amerlyn hinted at with her last cryptic response, though he knows full-well it wasn't directed at him. As if that ever mattered. "— whatever the Hells it is she's trying to let loose." These were but idle rumblings, however. Mild-mannered (hah) musings not meant to be investigated too deeply; for, indeed, the warrior's eyes — all three — were directed at the sea of bodies before them, scouring all those many faces and figures for something promising. Whatever that meant. It wasn't until Ganth turned back from his half-hearted perusal that he noticed the other, much more put-together, woman seated nearby. There was an odd aura about her that rubbed the brute the wrong way, and his face could not hide the discontent it made him feel; that upper-lip receded to show his fangs, his nose wrinkled all afoul, and steely eyes cut into fine slits — just for a moment, all because of that woman's mere presence. 'Wicked woman', he thought whilst fighting for the will to recompose.   OOC Movement: — Action: — Barking, snarling, having his hackles raise at the richly (witchy) woman at the bar nearby. 9.     Ganth "Third Eye" Custom Lineage Mercenary Veteran Battle Master Fighter AC: 16 (Chainmail) | HP: 12/12 | Speed: 30 ft. Passive Senses: Perception 12, Insight 10, Investigation 9 Str:Save: +3 Athletics: +3 Carrying Capacity: 240 lb. The time given to Ganth by the sad sap’s silence was enough for him to order up a drink, gulp half of it down, and belch across the bar in great satisfaction. Such a charmer, this one.   “Pretty pathetic, if you ask me.” Nobody did, clearly. But that wasn't going to stop the brute from needling anyway. “You must have ****ed up real bad.” The drink in Ganth’s hand disappears, slid down the bar towards the other as an offering. “Stop embarrassing yourself. That's what the ale is for, ay?” While the “Third Eye” was certainly capable enough of embarrassing himself, or mucking things up on occasion — read: often, and all the time — there was never such a cruel twist of fate that had him so glum as Pen seemed to be, not even the scattering of his clan, or the disgrace of his consequent execution of his sister. So, what could possibly wrench a man’s heart to the point of tears, if not all those things! Perhaps he was just soft, like everyone else he’d encountered today.   That said, while empathy was not the warrior’s strong suit, he hadn’t any intention of actually sparking a genuine conflict, believe it or not. Therefore, when that short young woman made her plea Ganth accosted her with naught more than a lofted brow and a toothy sneer. ”Challenge? I already tried my hand at that earlier. Lot over there got skin thinner than a fairy’s wings. Guessing you do too, huh?” He sucked at his teeth, disappointed in the lack of options for a proper rowdy barroom compatriot. What kind of place was this Yawning Portal anyway? At least Yagra could take the heat. ”Besides, if I wanted to throw him over the table I wouldn’t talk about it before I did, now would I?” Sounds enough logical to him, anyway. All was fair in love and war, including dirty sucker punches and sneak attacks. “Lemme guess, meek little thing like you in looking for work here too, huh?”   OOC Movement: — Action: — More talk, more banter, being a general lout.. Bonus Action: — Reaction: —
