He shifts slightly closer to Murdain. Is there any hope against this brute? He calls out. "Argh, Sola save us all!" He feels his new arm pulse with energy from inside the black sleeve. Raising it up, three bolts of burning sunlight streak out of the arm up at the half goliath slamming into him. Sola's flaming sword swings down on him but misses. Mechanics * MOVE: Move south 10 ft ACTION: Cast Scorching Ray at Indominous 18 to hit (19 if has advantage) for 5 fire damage/ 19 to hit for 6 fire damage/ 22 to this for 8 fire damage. BONUS ACTION: Spiritual Weapon to attack Indominous. 13 to hit for 9 force damage. REACTION: Whoever Indominous attacks, he will use Warding Flare to give him disadvantage on his first attack. (Since the range is only 30ft this would only cover himself and Murdain CONCENTRATION: none OOC: If you need to take a turn for Barkvin over the weekend, the plan is sacred flame for action and spiritual weapon for bonus action with warding flare for his reaction.   4. So since spiritual weapon is a 2nd level spell, I am assuming that it is not cancelled by this. As improved warding flare is not a spell, but a class feature, can Barkvin still use this as a reaction to give Indominus disadvantage on his next melee attack?

He lands with a thud on the ground. The cleric gets up and dusts himself off, backing up. Apparently, he was the soft one to be culled. This did not bode well. "Aye, Goddess send this son of the darkness back to his hole." A flare of sunlight streaks down from the sky to where Indominous is standing. Then a golden flaming sword appears in front of him and takes a swing at the brute. Mechanics * MOVE: Stand up from prone and walks back about 10 ft ACTION: Cast Sacred Flame on Indominous DC 15 DEX save or 10 radiant damage. BONUS ACTION: Cast Spiritual Weapon to attack Indominous. 19 to hit for 10 force damage. REACTION: Whoever Indominous attacks, he will use Warding Flare to give him disadvantage on his first attack. Staying low to stay out of sight he watches Murdain get into position and prepares to cast a spell. When he hears Niko attack, Barkvin stands to that he can see the dragonborn and the half orc/half goliath and calls on the goddess to stop them. "Goddess of the Sun hold our enemies fast." He casts hold person. Mechanics * MOVE: into position on top of the rock to see both the dragonborn and the half orc/ half goliath. ACTION: Cast hold person at 3rd level to target two people (the dragonborn and the half orc/ half goliath) DC 15 WIS save. Will use a luck if one of them succeeds the save. If both succeed the save he will use a luck against the dragonborn to try to make him fail. BONUS ACTION: none REACTION: If anyone within 30 ft of Barkvin hits him with an attack he will use Warding Flare to give disadvantage. CONCENTRATION: Hold Person OOC: As this battle may move forward over the weekend, Next round Barkvin will cast Fireball on the group of enemies (preferably to help Niko, but on the largest group possible). After that Barkvin will cast Sacred Flame and Spiritual Weapon. First on any that climb up on the rock to attack him, second choice on the dragonborn.   8. I would like Barkvin to climb up on the rock in the middle of the map (the bigger one with the red x adjacent to the enemies) and throw down a spell at the beginning of combat.
  9. Hopefully Mickey has animate objects. That seems like a must have for the sorcerer's apprentice. Send an army of brooms to throw buckets of water at our enemies. The Black Cauldron is a dark movie. I liked it, but it is not for everyone. Some people hate it. As said before it is rushed, too much story into too short a movie. It has the feel of the 80's video game "Dragon's Lair." It is definitely not standard Disney fare.

  13. I think Eilonwy has 20 gp to pitch in. I wonder how the Black Cauldron would react with a bag of holding. Depends on how it works, but it might explode. That could be interesting.
  14. That sounds right. You could go back and rewatch the video to verify. Mickey did see all of those villains in the vision we saw, even if he has not heard of them before. I also wonder how much he might have heard of these villains from stories being told. We don't have a front line fighter, so we might want to avoid a direct confrontation.
