  1. Zelda too is a little surprised, Silver had already crowned her team leader but she thought it was something between the team or, at the most, within nerv; announcing it to the press is a whole different level, it is the fame she crave for but a part of her cant avoid but wonder the reason of such gift, it's too good to be true, what will Serena ask in return? Then Oliver congratulate with her, the first person to do it, she smile and say, awkwardly "oh..um.. thank you" after a few seconds she add "but dont call me cap, we already have one, Zelda is fine" that title belong to Silver and she isnt going to steal from the one who's supporting her. She doesnt comment on Paul first question, about when she was appointed, wanting to see how Silver answer, but she speak up when Nosworthy suggest the journalists may blame her "if they can point flaws in my actions, i'll listen" false, absolutely false, everyone a bit familiar with her know that she wont take criticism well, hopefully she'll bluff well
  2. Same, i prefer to not split the party but if melnop want to leave earlier Turmold is going to stay with raygar
  3. The mechanics appear fine, my only doubt is for the versatile expertise, it list polearm but no implement, can you help me understand? Character wise, the curse is beautiful, I left the mouse to handclap, I'm not joking . The appearance say vashara use a battle axe, while her weapon is a greatspear(I'm fine with refluffing the spear to an battle axe, if that is what you are trying to do) I'm a bit confused by the personality section, it describe vashara as intelligent and a formidable strategist but she has int 9 and isn't trained in any int skill. Considering her pride, maybe she overestimate her capabilities? Or maybe she is like an inspiring Warlord, someone who makes people give 110% but that isn't a tactical genius. If you absolutely want her to be a forminable strategist I can overlook the 9 int, but at least make history a trained skill, you can say she has studied(or is writing!) the (setting equivalent of) art of war.
  4. Here my thoughts About the mechanics: -Your character hp calculation is incorrect, you gain +5 hp each level after the first, so your character hp should be 26+(5*5) =51 -Your feats are valid but a few are ..emm..obsolete?, if you have chosen them because you like them great, no objections, but i have the feeling that maybe you arent aware of the alternatives so i'll list here: Implement focus(rod) ->rod expertise(does the same thing and, in addition, grant a +1 shield bonus to ac and reflex) Child of storm(+2 bonus to save after taking typed damaged)->Resilient focus(+2 feat bonus to saves all the times) -Your character sheet is missing the cape of mountebank, remember that this item also give your character +1 enhancement bonus to ref/fort/will defenses, the skill section also lack the bonus from jack of all trades(note that endurance doesnt get both this bonus and the one from born of the elements since both are feat bonuses) The rest: I like Alex, i must say the background go in a direction i didnt think about (an illegal ritual to become a sinner...it give me the sensation of a Machiavellian plot) thats not a negative thing, theres plenty of material to work on. Theres one thing i'd like to ask, Alex has been a sinner for 3 years now and begun right at the Seven Roses, he is not a rookie, he know well the pros and cons of being a sinner, for example he is a lesser noble now(and has a lesser religious rank too, to Edia) enough to be above the common rabble, who (by law) should refer to him with some honorific title(es. sir Deidland or Noble Deidland, honorable Deidland or whatever crazy stuff your average ignorant peasant can come up) something that he had to do too when he was a young farmer(not that meeting nobles is a common thing but even a little village would see a sinner every couple of months, a village that go without sinners for too long become crippled by curses and...well, die) my question is, how does Alex handle this new status? there may be an abyss between him and a real noble..but there is also an abyss between him and a commoner
  5. I have to say -no- to "the tieflings arent a race but a curse", part of the story touch related topics and i'd rater not make spoilers 😅 tieflings are race and they have been saved by Ytar, like all other player available races (note that this is the belief of the main religion, it doesnt necessarily mean it's the absolute truth) You cant be classified as a monster , monsters are either killed, exploited by criminal organizations or, in the best case, treated as valuable restricted property under the title of sanctioned monsters. To throw some ideas, maybe your character was born human and the curse is giving them diabolical features, at the current stage they appear like tiefling but under certain conditions it can get worse(temporarily or permanently, up to you, as long as it doesnt become unrecognizable)
  6. The day of the interview see Zelda quite nervous, a contrast with her usual cocky attitude, choosing the appropriate dress took ages and she was desperate enough to ask Silver's opinion. Apparently neither the Final Fantasy nor the Gundam themed hoodies were valid choices. Turns out Zelda organize her hoodies in alphabet order, yes, she has that many, no she's not normal but this is the least of her problems. They did say to show her personality but a hoodie may be too casual so, in the end, Zelda pick one of her favorites, a gift from Jen, a daft punk themed sweatshirt. Things get better when she meet the PR team, there she relax, feeling safer "morning!" with a sparkling voice Zelda nod while listening to Paul explanation but halfway she get distracted by something, looking away, she is bought back to the PR leader when he get to the part where he will introduce them, she freeze and turn her head with a jerky movement, like a robot "emm" she fall silent, how can she tell Paul to not talk about something without mentioning that something in front of everyone?! "Zelda Hooper" and stop here, hoping Paul understand, Oliver does know so hopefully he has updated his boss
  7. Fascinating curse, i like it, ive no problem with the character temporarily appearing like a kid.
  8. note that it only work vs Hariti(the trick require an outside boost to synch rating to be reliable) so it could very well be a one time only trick, if we dont encounter other entities with similar power
  9. I think each person has it's own style and preferences when building characters , ideally the curse is something quirky, out of the ordinary, somewhat disadvantageous but that you like and want to play out, this is the key for a good curse, dont put something that will have minimal impact just to forget about it but use the opportunity to try something strange that you want to see/happen. To make an example, some time ago i did apply(unsuccessfully) for a pathfinder game with a weather controller spellcaster, that game didnt have curses but as side effect of the character great power i did write that "her mood affected the local weather" , if shes sad it rain, if shes angry the air get colder...nothing that would significantly impact the game, from a mechanical point of view, but role-play wise that was something i did find incredibly cool and wanted to try out even if it made my character easier to read. But a curse can be something that has nothing to do with your class or role, it doesnt even have to be particularly exotic, it can be about your character behavior, like you can have a curse that -when i meet someone for the first time i feel compelled to hug them- or -i must answer a question with a question-
  10. Zelda doesnt seem particularly interested in Silver's exercise, her mind is elsewhere, busy on other stuff, she passively watch the replay of the battle while Emiko, unsurprisingly, dutifully do the assigned homework But something wake her up, something draw her attention"injecting venom..." she mumble, quoting the bridge operator who warned the team about the entity venomous bite. Zelda eyes open wide, you can almost see the light-bulb shining on her head, she got an idea, no, calling it an idea wouldnt do it justice, this is an epiphany! "venom!" she almost shout, likely causing more than one puzzled expression She wave her hand, as if to cancel something, while addressing Silver "forget Jehoel, the past is past, i think...i think i have an idea for Hariti, it's something i've been thinking since yesterday at the planning meeting but i was missing a piece" she smile, proud of herself "ok, listen" she gesture at the tv "Luna eva went berserker, we already know what that means but to make it brief, an eva in berserk state is much more powerful and yet Luna's eva didnt do anything useful, because it was too badly damaged" she pause for a few seconds "now, suppose you have a relatively healthy eva, with a synch ratio hovering 100% and that you could force it to berserk...what would you have?" she doesnt wait for an answer " an eva powerful enough to eat the sons of Gazardiel for breakfast, with such high deflection they cant hurt it, or strong enough to hurt a fully grown entity without external support...add external support and the battle would become significantly easier" She nod "i know what you think, we cant force an eva to berserk when we want it, but if we could arrange a situation against Hariti with ..say...70+% chances of success? wouldnt it be a gamble worth taking?" Zelda surely would take that gamble "we know that hariti has a power that increase the synch ratio of his targets, we also know it's powerful enough or it use it frequently enough to cause an oversynch...at the academy they teach you that oversynching is bad... but a stronger connection with the eva has several benefits and if it get suddenly interrupted, say, because the pilot is knocked unconscious, the eva has a very high probability of going berserk, it's guaranteed at 130%+ synch ratio, not that i'd risk going that far, but it's an option" With a very serious expression "you're a medic Silver, how hard would it be to prepare an auto injector with a medical drug able to knock a light weight person unconscious within a minute of the injection? with almost a month of time Nerv's infirmary can perfectly calibrate it for each of us, we can have the taravangian run tests to verify my theory, if during the fight with Hariti one of use get oversynched...that pilot will have the option to go to sleep and let the eva continue the fight, if we're lucky Hariti might open the battle with that power. I'm not the eva's number 1 fan, hell, i despise these monsters, but i know Eva-17 is going to fight like i would, we're..." she grin while shaking her head in disgust "identical"
  11. The psionic classes are valid, as long as you refluff them. A curse that make your character feel certain emotions when casting is valid. Influencing others emotions is only valid if the power has an effect or a keyword that say so (es. Fear keyword, or a charm power) Turning into what people desire is not a valid curse, I don't know if there is a power able to replicate it, as alternative I may suggest - I'm constantly chased by the wrong kind of men/women- as a valid curse. Edit. Of course nothing stop another player from role-playing emotional side effects of your powers(there are plenty if examples of power of friendship/love/hate/anger ) but that will be their choice
  12. Or you can use the particular rules of living pathfinder to try something normally not available Cant make a long lasting, mechanically good, character? dont make one level 1 mechanically good character you'd like to try out, at level 2 if you got tired of it simply retire the character and make another, nothing say you cant make 10 different characters on your way to level 10 and that is something you cant do in normal games.
  13. In a somewhat venomous tone she reply to Emiko "because you have nothing, nothing to care, nothing to lose, nothing to fight for, it's not a big problem if the news paint you as inadequate, if they question your merits...but for me this is home, my family, my friends, everyone i know live here and will keep living here in the years to come. It's not something those like you can understand but i have a life beside this job, this interview can bring it to new heights or push it down a cliff, this is important for me" By the end of the week everyone in England will know her name and face, her hometown, her school, the name of her parents and close friends, for Zelda this is as big of a deal as a battle with an entity, she cant afford a negative impression.
  14. Zelda too join the squad, watching the battle at the TV, Emiko note a change in behavior, but even Mikhail might notice it even if they had interacted only briefly, Zelda is cold and detached, keep them at bay, a different person from the one who baptized Emiko as the -White Witch- or joked with her about finding a playground for Anya. Mikhail, well, the first thing she told him when they met was about the 100% discount at the local bakery...that person was friendly and welcoming, this one however look at him as if they were still living during the cold war. Regardless these negative feelings, she is in a good mood, the free day at the base reinvigorated her, the idea way to relieve the stress. "They had an easier battle than us and got out worse. That pilot is supposed to be a very, very experienced pointman who went into battle with a scope on his pallet rifle when maser rifles were available, Luna is a skirmisher like me and Anya and what did she do right out of the gate? throw away her maser rifle. I'd save Felix, i think an AT specialist like Emiko , fate handed him a terrible hand but he played his cards well.... but his companions? they switched roles, the pointman behaved like a skirmisher, unfortunately he had the wrong weapon and didnt cause more than a bruise to the entity while the skirmished did land a smackdown in melee, but also got wrecked, an honorable outcome for a pointman but not for the skirmisher who had a perfectly good rifle available." She shake her head, then, speaking with lower voice tone "the majority of the news trash us for our battle, i swear, if at the interview someone dare to suggest that the old team was better i'll... " nothing, she isnt going to say anything, Zelda's desire to excel, to be in the spotlight, will prevent her from sabotaging her debut.
  15. I'm also fine moving forward, quite eager to do the interview 😎
  16. The houserule work for agi 3 characters.... but has reduced effects for agi 4 (and agi 9, but nobody will get there 😅) characters(they dont get the benefit on full move, just on run/charge actions) RAW: Agi 4 full move: 16 (4 squares) Houserule: agi 4+1 full move: 20 (4 squares) May i suggest to change it to "+1 movement distance square to full move, charge and run actions" that way the rule apply to every agi value in the same way
  17. No real time sessions, roll20 would be used exclusively to provide a combat map, a player would log in to roll20 to move their token, draw lines for area effects, place a sign for marked/debuffed enemies.
  18. Got it, second question, how will you handle point blank range in the next fight?
  19. Maybe it's a dumb question, does variation to sync rating affect ATS?
  20. About melee Vs ranged I think it's the kind of thing you decide during the fight(until we upgrade the taravangian to provide more data, if that's possible ). The turtle could have a dangerous melee attack, or a damaging aura, or maybe it's weak in melee but has powerful ranged attack, or some strange power, it will take us a few rounds to learn and try to counter it. Unfortunately I just realized emiko barrier isn't going to matter, the turtle has higher ATS than her deflection
  21. Indeed, cant say i'm surprised, i dont remember seeing a dnd4 game here on the new site and even on the old site it was a pretty rare sight in the last few years, i've spent a considerable amount of time debating if to pick dnd4(my preferred choice) or go for dnd5/pathfinder(the most popular choices), ultimately i went with the former, to have no regrets.
  22. 27 October is fine, by then either Hariti will be defeated or Jen wont have reasons to visit London. These links, these bonds, the people in her life, they sometimes complicate things but at the same time they make it possible, their support is invaluable and Zelda wont give it up, even if it require pro level juggling skills to balance Spy, Pilot and Social life. The chat with Jenn helped distract Zelda from the current problem: living with replicants, she wonder how many Emikos are out there and what happened to the real one. A message, from Silver, Zelda read it but does not reply, instead she continue with her dinner and once finished she visit the park; there she sit on a bench and while relaxing the teen check her smartphone, looking at the social media, this time with more attention.
  23. Battle Plan proposal We all go on ships(no airdrops) battery autonomy isnt enough to pull that stunt, also Emiko's barrier could be handy to protect not just her but the ship she is on/nearby allies We buy 2 new Type C equipment, paying 5 surplus and 5 Zelda trust for one and 5 surplus and 5 Anya trust for the other( borrowing the test/prototype versions for a single mission cost half their value and will cause extra collateral, possibly reducing our surplus reward, a really bad deal) We use c equipment(who use the new and who use the test/prototype is not relevant in this mission, the sea isnt deep enough) and get into water as soon as possible
  24. Turmold is used to Raygar's endless appetite, maybe it's a side effect of his magic, the fighter enjoy his meal but stay relatively light "i wonder where is this labyrinth and why this Djinn want people to complete it" curious about the job, with a city full of adventurers Lady Amina decided to cross the continent to recruit strangers form Venza, the dwarf is eager to solve the mistery
