  1. Too bad I didn't make it. At least I still have a chance to join if something happens in the future. A second game where you and I can't play together. Let's hope third time's the charm in the future. Until then, enjoy the game.
  2. Theodor nodded at the new arrival as Dante pointed out some obvious issues involving the Lamms. "Yes, that sounds like something he'd do. I mean he's kidnapped children to use them as his own disposable pawns, so it should be obvious the word low doesn't exist for him. So the obvious choice is find out where they're kept and make sure they can't get involved when we deal with Lamm. And that he can't get to them to use a shields. He should also have some men loyal enough to him to follow his orders and fight off intruders, which means dealing with them as well." The young Varisian pointed out, passing out three mushrooms to the gnome that had just arrived and admitted he had nothing to eat all day.
  3. Sorry. I haven't had much time on my character. Especially since I really want to play 4e DnD again after so many years. I'm hoping to have more time in the next few days to work out my application more.
  4. Same. Whether I get picked or not, it was great to see so many good character concepts and hope those who are chosen have a great game and a great time.
  5. Theodor stayed quiet as he listened to the other's own issues with Lamm, giving a more sympathetic stare at those who have admitted to having been one of his Lambs in their youth. After the last one admitted to having been a Shiver addict, nasty stuff from what the Varisian had seen these last few years and glad to never partake, he stepped up and looked at the ones who had been Lamm's Lambs. "Thank you, I've been wondering for years and only heard rumors, but hearing it from some of you finally confirmed it for me. Two years ago, Lamm took away my baby sister and I know it was him because it was a giggling half-orc who did the deed, with the help of another child, or someone pretending to be one. The guard did nothing, everyone in my family eventually gave her up for dead. Me, I refused to stop, to just accept that she was gone. Not until I see a body. I may be deluding myself, hells maybe I am deluded. But part of me is screaming that she's alive, still. Waiting for someone to rescue her!" Theodor could feel himself getting worked up and had to stop to take a moment and calm himself. Breathing in and out, he opened his eyes, having closed them while taking a few breaths. "My baba always said this, after bad luck comes good fortune, and after good fortune comes bad luck. That means be hopeful but guarded. I am hopeful do, very much so. So even if I am not chosen to go, please keep an eye on her. Her name is Eridia, black hair and eyes like mine. She was a bit chubby when I last saw her but still, she should be recognizable. Tell her you know Theo if she keeps her distance from you." The young Varisian pronounced part of his name as Dio, as it the different pronunciation made it a fond nickname between the two siblings.
  6. "There is also something we need to consider. If everyone got the same letter I received, our host will choose a party. As in not all of us will have a chance to deal with Lamm. I can understand the precaution, keeping two different baskets of eggs so if one gets run over, she can use the other one. I can also understand not everyone will be fine with that kind of arrangement. For Lamm has surely taken from many here in Korvosa. Important objects, money, friends, loved ones.... Family..." Theodor spoke as he took a few mushrooms from the basket and ate one. But at the mention of family, he unconsciously crushed one of the mushrooms with his left hand, his own anger seeping through a bit in his words. "In my personal opinion, in which hells that Gaedran Lamm ends up in that he so righteously deserve matters less than answers about his victims. And trust me, anyone who takes children deserves worse. But I believe regardless of what happens tonight, Lamm needs to be dealt with. So if whoever our host chooses as a party to deal with him fail, the rest who weren't should pick up the pieces quick and finish the job. That said, I can tell that some of us have seen fights. I myself have been in a few and while a bit self-taught, my rapier wit and pointed remarks can easily deal with anyone I fight in close range. I wonder what the rest of you can do that you're willing to share."
  7. Theodor had to hold back a chuckle. Now this was not something he had been expecting, a tattooed elven woman making such a bold proclamation and downing her wine. "Now I can drink to that." He downed his own cup of wine. "However, not to celebrate but in preparation. It's increasingly obvious Lamm is the one thing we all have in common. As for where we are, I can at least assure you this is a genuine fortune teller's dwelling. As for whether she's the real deal, well, she found all of us and slipped a card as well." The young Varisian took out the Cricket card. "Sometimes, the card can speak of an individual. But I digress. We should at least make introductions, even if fake ones since we can't keep calling each other you or her or him. You can all call me Theodor for now. Depending on how things go, you'll find out if it's my real name or not. If anyone's inclined to answer, may I have the names you will give me for referring to yourselves?"

Despite the lighting, his hearing could help make up for it. And he got his answer as he heard the crunching of boots on the gravel. From the fact that his human ears, even with his scout training, could pick it up and the intensity and tempo of the movement, the former scout frowned as he realized the enemy would be here in less than a minute. "Shit! They're already catching up!" He cursed and did hand signals to the others before stopping himself, having fallen back into old habits from when he was still an able scout. "We've got Ironfang incoming! Everyone get into positions! Carthas, Oreld, we'll buy you two some time to studied those blueprints! After that, we need to take down this bridge ASAP! Ealdred, Ragna, we need to intercept the enemy and buy time for Rezzik and Talus to catch up, also for Oreld and Carthas! Tess, stay near Carthas and Oreld, keep them safe until they're done figuring out the blueprints!" Having barked out some orders, Ardyn stepped forward as he opened his gate, the surge of power causing splinters of wood to float around him. He then had wood grow around his body, encasing him in the familiar wooden armor, wielding a wooden shield as well, ready to intercept the enemy. This would be the first time both Ealdred and Ragna saw his own power in full view, the others having already seen it in the Taproot when the invasion began. 9. Theodor walked out of the Traveling Man, having just enjoyed a breakfast of some hot soup and bread. Now he was simply walking down Old Korvosa, following an admittedly flimsy lead, mostly that Gaedren Lamm operates in the area. "It's the only lead I've got. Well, it's like baba always said. After bad luck comes good fortune, and after good fortune comes bad luck." The young Varisian said to himself, careful to avoid his old haunts, especially his old home, where his family is. He had just returned to Old Korvosa yesterday after having spent weeks in South Shore, having hoped that the area would be prime with info on whoever took his baby sister from them. It had been hard for Theodor, since he did not have much experience outside Old Korvosa when he began his search. But his footwork and dancing skills were enough to get him room and board during the first few months. The young Varisian was shaken out of his revelry as he felt something land on his right shoulder and looked over to see a pigeon resting there. On the bird's left leg was a tied up letter. "Hello, what's this? Is Desna smiling on me? And a Harrow card too. I haven't seen one in years. Not since... " He shook his head out of his reverie, and read the letter. "I know what Gaedren has done to you. He has wronged me as well. I know where he dwells, yet cannot strike at him. Come to my home at 3 Lancet Street at sunset. Others like you will be there. I am picking a party to weed him out! Gaedren must face his fate, and justice must be done." "Wait a minute. The card is in perfect shape." Theodor noticed, looking at the Harrow card again and noticed it was the Cricket. Most people would think it was a coincidence. But he was born and raised Varisian, not to mention a devout follower of Desna, the Song of Spheres herself. Those who used the Harrow can read fate when sufficiently trained. The young Varisian had avoided it, his parents having taught him that only the gods should deal with fate. But he did remember another saying of his baba's. "There are such things as false truths and honest lies. Maybe it's time I visited a Harrower. I sure could use some guidance." As he walked away, he suddenly smelled something disgusting and smelly. Looking over his shoulder, Theodor found the pigeon gone, after having used him as a public loo. Standing outside the house at 3 Lancet Street, Theodor gave a quick look around. The outside seemed empty of people, yet having grown up in Old Korvosa, he knew that wasn't the case. Still, he took a step forward and knocked on the door. It suddenly opened as if a breeze blew it for him and the young Varisian walked into the house. The smell that came to him was fragrant, nostalgic of the times he visited his aunts and uncles, letting himself momentarily drift into memories of his childhood, around his family, happier times. Yet he couldn't linger in the smells from the incense burners, not if he wasn't the only one to arrive here. Opening his eyes, he scanned around the room, noticing the tapestries hanging from the walls. The figures on the tapestries, the young Varisian believed were the depictions from the Harrow cards. The room itself look sparse with only a wooden table covered in a bright red cloth, tall-backed chairs which he had seen used by Harrowers before and a basket concealed by a blue cloth tucked beneath the table. The vibrant rugs underfoot added a touch of warmth to the otherwise mysterious atmosphere, which simply brought a smile to his face. Theodor was also aware that there were others in the room, having arrived as a low rumble from a short haired man spoke. "Greetings stranger, from a stranger! It seems Gaedren Lamm has finally overdone his villainy and brought upon himself some comeuppance. That said, apologies doamnelor si domnilor, who sent our invitations? May I hazard a guess that each of you received a Harrow card? For it is a card from a Harrow deck which I was given as well. The Cricket chirps and bounces around after all." He said in a long introduction ending with a simple question of if the others had received a Harrow card and what it was.
  10. Or that after you made a character, another person does an application that's almost the same as yours but with a few differences.... Happened to me three times already.
  11. Ludwig simply stared at the skeletons, surprised that whatever advantage and serious atmosphere they had was ruined by their comedic banter. "Wow. We've got here. So I wonder which one of you is Yorick." He stopped as he heard Biscuit's answer and the bonemen's response to her answer. But as Mercurius launched an attack that missed, the sage took the chance to chant a spell. Magical energy gathered in his hand, converging into a rounded, spherical shape and he focused more to give it a very familiar before throwing it at the group of skeletons. "Have dibs on this, skellies!" Action: Eldritch Explosives: Conjure and throw a Mana Grenade, which works like an actual Grenade but does Twilight Magic Damage, and targets reduced to 0 or less hearts are knocked unconscious, unless they're mechanical or undead, in which case, they fall inert. Targets must make a Deftness Check. Failure: They are Toppled and take 1 Heart of Damage Success: They are only Toppled. Fumble: If you get a 1 on your Attack roll, you drop the Grenade. Now everyone in the same Area as you is a target of the Grenade.
  12. Same. I'll just need to decide on what Ranger I'm playing.
