"Life is a game hunter and prey,
catch or be caught, run or strike,
everything has its due place."

Background

Nandi was born as a normal village girl of a tiny settlement amongst ancient ruins in the forest. It was amongst these ruins that she picked the statuette of an almost forgotten goddess as a little girl and decided she wanted to emulate that one. Thus, she decided to worship the Jaguar Princess (which is an alter ego of Bastet). That preference for a particular nature spirit sets her slightly apart from her shamanistic people, who worship a multitude of nature spirits, which includes jaguars, but also rivers, birds, the sky and so forth.

From there on, the young huntress earned both notoriety and fame. Notorious for having affairs with half the village, but never truly bonding, for hardly taking anything serious and for getting away with everything. Famed for appearing out nowhere to help defend villagers against beast, particularly snakes, being an excellent young huntress, and a good team player who doesn't take herself too seriously.

When she was awarded by the village with sponsorship for Magaambya, it was an honour that she had earned as well as a play of the villagers, particularly female peers, to get rid of her.
