Lou looks at Lazuli with genuine shock.

"Wait! He's still here? I thought they sent him back early on a prison ship after he tried to kill us all."

He then turns his attention back to the intruder.

"Do you know where he is on the ship? If not, come with us and we'll see if we can help you find him. None of the three of us know exactly where he is. If he's here, I'd be happy to give him to you. He's nothing but trouble."

Yhas looks with genuine puzzlement and curiosity at the newcomer. As far as she knew, Miken along with the others had all been transferred to the Flighty Foundling along with all of the other evidence when Tarto took command. I suppose the wayward cadet could have slipped away and hidden among the tunnels somewhere without them knowing. After all, she had been pretty distracted lately between the mission and then dealing with her half dozen new furry overlords...errr....charges.

Scratching at one of her cat ears she offers a wide-eyed gaze of kitten innocence toward the stranger.

"I've know idea where he is." Yahs echoes Lou. "I thought he'd been transferred days and days ago. Perhaps he slipped away from Fleet security before the Foundling left." She shrugs. "I can start a search." Her eyes suddenly brighten and her ears perk up. "It could be a great training opportunity for the kittens."

Glancing between Lazuli, Lou, and Yahs "Unlikely story. No idea? I think you know very well. Kittens? You would already be dead. You're stalling." The warrior lashes the reigns around her wrist while the other hand pulls forth a brilliant silver spear. A tingle in your mind grasps for your attention as something prods and probes within. The spearpoint flashes aglow with hot pink psionic energy. "Vah'k'rel, htak'a!!"

The star lancer swoops forward and with a hard impact grasps onto the tyrant's hard stone shell, bites and stabs come in a practiced rhythm with exquisite efficiency...

~~~
Meanwhile on the command deck, Celsior informs the hadozee instructor "What?! Why didn't you just use the stone? No matter..." pulling out a space rifle and cocking it with a smooth, practiced motion "Let's move."
Lou, Laz, and Yahs are in melee with both rider and star lancer. Celsior went to alert Tarto, and they both can return in round 2. Sadly Mangonel is no use at this range.
Stone? Celsior cocks his head as the realization of his stupidity slowly blooms. Of course, use the stone. I thought I gave that back, he wonders but finds it in his pocket.
He turns to high tail it back to his companions, wondering why the spelljamming helm wasn't starting some fancy flying or preparing for boarders, or some other captainy commands. So much he needs to learn.
A sense of relief washes through Yahs' ectoplasmic systems as the newcomer draws her spear and boards the ship. So much talking was taxing her system and sending her nerves well beyond their limits. Feeling the familiar sturdy, cool wood of her trusty mop in her pods was a welcome familiarity. The rush of adrenaline had the added benefit of helping clear away some of the kitten cloud that had infected her since departing Noog's cavern. Even so, her own foolish innocence kept her thinking that she could still bring the troublesome felines into the fold. But that was a task for later. For the moment there was a rather rude and impatient boarder attempting to kidnap a fellow cadet who was, as far as she knew, on a completely different ship. Perhaps this was just another of Tarto's training sessions? If so, she'd try to make it look good.
“Or, don't be reasonable, I guess. That's an option too. Stupid,” they opine, as a long, thin pseudopod covered in spikes shoots forth from their body, attempting to grab on to the rider. The whip then pulls back, pulling the rider off its mount if it hits.
OOC
Casting Thorn Whip at the rider. If hit, 3 damage and pulls rider 10' towards Lazuli.
If it comes within 10 feet of Lazuli, they get to use Halo of Spores as a reaction; DC 14 Con save or damage.
The massive star lancer, and the rider atop the odd deep space denizen, flow as one unit in the face of Yahs' attacks. A mop strike parried by one of the thing's tetrad of wings sets up the rider to perfectly riposte the followup plasmoid punch. What was usually a failsafe against such defenses, the flurry of blows strikes nothing but air. Indeed, this was a true warrior well trained against such martial attacks.
But, as always, numbers matter. So while Yahs distracted the duo, Lazuli chose her moment to lash out with a sticky psuedopod (sprouting forth like the first verdant tendrils in spring) and ripping the rider free from the shark-like terror. The graceful rider extends its arms wide, using the silver spear like a balance beam to land on its feet in a way that would make even the dreaded cyclopean kitties sit up and say meow. What the rider failed to see coming though was the 10,000 itchy, hungry offspring that had exuded from Lazuli's reproductive organs.
The counterattack from the rider is rapid and effective, the spear tip bursting Lazuli's bubble. As the metal cuts, she feels a heightened sense of fear as if watching her internal organs being devastated by the blade...the rider was in her mind as much as the blade was in her body.
Meanwhile the star lancer, blocked on the ground by Lou and Yahs, takes flight into the open space of the hollow deck (without provoking OA). It quickly doubles back to assist its bonded rider, dive bombing Squishy with its pointy nose...the impaling horn is rough and cold.
Laz takes 33 dmg. Yahs and Lou are within a move of both enemies. Laz is in melee with both.
Lou is up to finish round 1.
All others may post actions for top of round 2 as well. Tarto has come to help with her space rifle and will act on Celsior's turn.
Lou quickly draws his bow and shoots arrow at the intruder, his arrow glowing with fire as it flies and strikes the creature in the chest.
He's used to it by now, but he'll never understand why people are so loathe to trust a goblin. He moves back and looks for cover as Opal runs in and attacks the rider.
This warrior was making her look like a slow, clumsy fool. Perhaps she was, but she still didn't like it being made so obvious. Pressing the attack seemed the only potential option since she couldn't simply give the intruder what they seemed to want. She'd know idea where Miken was stashed and even so, it really wasn't up to her to decide if a Fleet cadet could simply be handed over to some strange foreign power. Saboteur or not. Proper channels and diplomatic regulations should be followed. Thus Yahs calls forth her best attempt to smash her mop handle into the intruder's forehead. Unfortunately, she slips on a fresh hairball and the swing ends up catching nothing but air. Her follow up strikes are nearly just as ugly with only one coming even remotely close to actually scuffing the intruder's armor.
Lou pleads with the unreasonable, untrusting spear-wielding sidewinder one last time but his goblin squeaks fall on either deaf or uncaring ears. The civil mistreatment fuels the archer's aim, Opal turning her head in surprise moments before as if instinctually anticipating the amazing shot. *Gr?* as the cat-gut sinew of the bow twangs.
Fiery barbs in flight, they soar,
Each arrow finds its mark, no more
Shall invaders tread upon this deck,
For the goblin's aim, they'll soon respect.
The rider stops, drops, and rolls...but the predictable patterns of movement are no match for the heart-seeking arcano death darts delivered from the dainty fingers of the Prince of Alfheim. Wump! Wump! Wump! Wump! A quadruple tap of pain visibly dents the once gallant metal armor of the space invader, blood soon soaking into her white tunic, turning it to a soggy crimson.
Yahs is right then atop her, flailing wildly with a thousand mop strikes and pseudopods. Just as she is about to get back on her feet, a cold clocking hit to the face flattens her smoldering, wrecked form out on the deck.
Tarto hovers across the gravity plane silently. She plants her feet soundly on the hollow deck near the automata remains. Musing through her cigar clenching teeth "Oh, interlopers eh?" before igniting her musket with said stogie.
*BBLAaM*
*SCreeeaARRR*
Some crazy sound like a mixed eagle cry and whale bellowing comes from the flying shark creature, Tarto landing a direct hit. It sniffs at the fallen rider in a panic before leaping out the giant maw of the tyrant, back from whence it came. In a sparkle of glitterdust, the form is soon lost in the blackness of wildspace.
OOC: Yahs, your strike brought the rider to exactly 0 hp. You can decide fatal or KO please.
Celsior recognizes the star lancer's disappearance as a magical invisibility effect.
Combat essentially over.
Yahs is about to deliver the killing blow to the arrogant warrior assaulting her ship and her companions. One quick glance at Lazuli's twisting, pain roiled form almost pushes her over the edge. But at the last possible moment she adjusts the aim of her final blow. There might be information to gathered. Or the employer mentioned earlier might be someone who wouldn't appreciate the killing of their agent, regardless of whether it was justified or not. So instead of a crushing blow to the throat, the plasmoid's pod clips the warrior just behind the ear. Not deadly, but enough to put the warrior out of action for a good long while. At least long enough to see them bound and tucked into whatever room could work for a brig on this flying rock.
OOC: Choosing the KO option.
