spacer.pngCelsior Loriniscil, Prince of Alfheim

Inspiration Yes | HP 27/27 | HD 4/4 | Step 2/2 | Shield 1/1

Bladesong 1/2 | Recovery 2/2 | 1st-level 4/4 | 2nd-level 1/3

Celsior recognizes the invisibility effect that he just learned to do and defeat. Grasping his arcane crystal, he opens his third eye with an ancient elven command word. What species are they?

If he spots the star lancer retreating, the prince says, "the creature is retreating."

If he spots the star lancer enter the ship, he closes to melee unsheathing his rapier and shouts to his crew, "he's right here!"

Mechanics

Active effects: Bladesong AC 18 (2 of 10 rounds), See Invisibility

Action: Cast See Invisibility

Move: to melee with the star lancer

Use Object: ready rapier

Reaction: probably Shield to AC 23

A sheen of silver coats Celsior's princely peepers, as a reflection of space casts its image upon them. Phasing back into existence is the routing star lancer, making its way back towards the odd metallic glint of a ship near the asteroid at a good pace.

With the rider incapacitated by a mere deckhand, Tarto takes a moment to examine the fantastic silver spear she carried. Noting some strange circular marks on the hilt "Hmm, this implement has slain many an illithid..." Nudging the blunt end into the captive's face, the space mask falls away to reveal a beautiful githyanki warrior with yellow skin and intricate bright purple tatoos. "Careful. Githyanki are well versed in the mind arts of psionics...no bindings can truly hold them as long as they remain conscious."

Lou triple checks his work on tying up the woman warrior, using a clever Angler's Loop he learned on the pirate shores of the forbidden moons of Karpri. Squeezing out a little berry from who-knows-where, the space ranger popped it into her mouth before snugging up the gag again. As the goblin's magic revitalizes her senses (but leaves the worst of her bruises and wounds) she twitched violently, as if coming out of a deep dream.

Lou felt a telekinetic push immediately, but the sensation quickly faded as the woman calmed herself...sitting upright in a meditative posture. She gazed forward saying nothing, but was obviously alert.

Tarto raised an eyebrow "Well then! I suppose here's a great opportunity for a pop quiz! Who remembers the Reid technique? There are 3 main areas where the interrogator controls the flow of information. Bullet A: What happens to the suspect? The length of detention and what charges are made. Bullet B: Offering the suspect the chance to win or lose approval or self-esteem. And Bullet C: Providing or withholding information about which the suspect is ignorant, but the interrogator is expert. Who would like to ply the craft first? Let's get this gal talking, cadets!"

Celsior squints as he watches the star lancer retreat within a halo of silver toward the glint of metal behind the asteroid. Githyanki?

The prince clears his throat, "Tarto, that creature is retreating to a ship hiding behind that asteroid. There could be many of these riders coming to rescue him."

He pulls out the Sending Stone and asks, "does Saerthe have the other one? We're not out of this yet."

Saves: Str -1 | Dex +3 | Con +1 | Int +2 | Wis +6 | Cha +0

Resistances: Acid and Poison

With a pop and a crackle, Lazuli creates another handful of goodberries, and chomps them all down. Well, I say chomps, but really they just sort of dissolve back into Lazuli's pseudopod over the next minute. "Fancy spear. Think we could attach a mop head to it? It might help Yahs out if she needs to mind-stab someone," they comment, a little bit salty.

"I say we skip the talking, and just stab the bastard until he tells us what we want to know. Or we don't, and just get out of here. His ride's gone anyway, and I don't like the idea of his friends returning to stab me more."

OOC

Casting Goodberry, then eating them. It takes an action to eat each one, so 10 actions for 10 hp, one minute.

Kind of surprised we decided to revive the captive before sticking it in a hole somewhere and fully searching for weapons, stripping its armor, whatever. But hey, I am sure this is fine.

Not taking her gun off the captive "Nay, Cadet Loriniscil. I hold the pair to that comm. Better let Saerthe know, so he can take evasive action."

Chuckling a bit at Lazuli's musing "I would guess the right craftsman could attach a mophead to just about anything. Although githyanki gear is typically much less interesting without an awakened mind inside its wielder. Imagine: a psionically augmented deckhand. *whistles*"

The gith does not appear amused.

ooc: Can assume Celsior does so while Lazuli munches berries. @DM-Tareth @BobtheWizard Anything to add here?

Yahs wasn't feeling very talkative. She'd already tried reasoning with the warrior and the woman proceeded to attack them. The finely crafted spear, was an interesting curiosity, but she doubted she had the mental powers to truly make it useful.

"Brains just make me bloated and irritable for the rest of the day." She says dryly in response to Lazuli. Her pods folded across each other. "Still, do you think it is possible to gain mental powers in such a way? It's not really something I've considered before. Could memories and knowledge be passed along as well? It could certainly cut down on the whole interrogation nonsense."

She oozes over to the prisoner, slips a thin tendril into the woman's ear and wiggles it around, tap-tap-taps around her head as if getting ready to crack an egg open, pokes lightly at an eye. "Hmmmm...what's the easiest way inside. I think pop the eye out and then right along the optic nerve."

As Yahs and Lazuli discuss the ingestion of brains on the Hollow Deck, Tarto vomits in her mouth a little. With Celsior, Lou, and Opal away on another deck, the captive senses an opportunity.

*BMmF*

In a burst of hot pink tendrily vapor the captive vanishes, leaving her mouth gag and bindings behind.

Its hard to hear over Tarto retching, and the splish splash of the resulting regurgitation, but some tinkling or knocking sound comes from behind the stack of stone mangonel projectiles...

~~~
Back on the command deck, Saerthe plants himself firmly at the helm. "Oh ho, the old hiding behind an asteroid trick? Well, lets see them catch up with a master spelljammer cruising at 5 million miles per hour!" With that, the tyrant lurches forward into hyperspeed, the rainbow tunnel of wildspace encapsulating the flightpath. With any luck, a return to Toril would be forthcoming...
The gith's disappearance leaves Yahs' pods tingling as the psychic energy generates an odd rippling vibration and the local air rushes to fill the vacuum caused when the enemy whisks herself elsewhere. The plasmoid lets out a resigned gurgling sigh.
"I should have just killed her." She mutters before turning to Tarto. An ectoplasmic eyebrow quirks upward as she stares at the Fleet commander and senior officer. "What now Sir?" She asks picking up the enemy spear. "Could she have teleported all the way back to her ship? Or should we start a search?"
Wiping her mouth, Tarto puffs up her cigar to a red hot, as she usually does in moments of consternation. *sigh* "Well if its one thing I can't stand its a damn stowaway. I'll see to it this raider walks the plank into the rainbow rush..." pouring an extra dose of gunpowder into her space musket before stuffing a big lead ball tight into the barrel. "...what's all that tinkling and jangling up near the mangonel? Hear it?"
"Yeah, Yahs. It probably wasn’t a good idea for Lou to wake the prisoner up. Well, live and learn. Or die in space," Lazuli comments, with another undulating shrug.
They then meander over towards the mangonel, menacingly.
Lou readies his bow and looks towards the mangonel. He is concerned that this creature can teleport without talking. Perhaps it is more powerful than we thought.
Based on her experience of most the Fleet command officers so far, Yahs found herself skeptical of Tarto being able to actually track down and finish off the escaped gith. After all, they couldn't find or stop one love sick, cash strapped cadet from sewing chaos and destruction for weeks. And based on her reading of the most recent arms manuals, the plasmoid was even more wary of how much extra powder Tarto had poured into her gun. A skepticism she chose to acknowledge by staying a good distance from the gun toting Fleet officer even as she followed her toward the mangonel.
For a moment, Yahs believes she has pinpointed the sneaky stowaway behind the little pile of stones. With a creeping gait, the plasmoid undulates in that direction...preparing to pounce as Tarto gives a knowing nod, leveling her musket.
*Mew!*
Suddenly Cindy Clawford, the H'cathan death kitten with the strange mole on her cheek and known member of the revolution, jumpscares everyone leaping out from the stones upwards to playfully assault the dangling firing ropes of Lou's mangonel. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately depending on your perspective, the hiding githyanki is equally astonished by the sudden feline felicity. "Oh shit, a H'cathan death kitten!" the psionic warrior uselessly exclaims before accidentally stepping on Cindy's tail.
*SSsssS!*
Hell literally breaks loose as a flask of alchemist's fire slips from the gith's belt as she stumbles within the large wooden frame on the edge of the ship, igniting gith, kitten, and mangonel alike. The gith tumbles into outer space attacking the flames and gnarly claws in equal measure as they are captured downwards by the tyrant's gravity plane.
Meanwhile, the mangonel is on fire once again filling the ill-fated ship with smoke. Tarto holds her shot "Damnit! Snuff that fire cadets!"
~~~

Meanwhile across the way on the command deck, Saerthe's heightened awareness watches it all with pure disbelief. "...that isn't how I expected that to go." he comments somewhat neutrally, explaining the situation to Celsior, Lou, and Opal.
