Hello Everyone,

I just joined here and on the discord and wanted to send a little note for introduction. While enjoying the Forgotten Realm books and rpg video games for most of my life, I ended up starting a 2 games on Foundry and Roll 20 last year. While enjoying them greatly I found that I could only keep time protected enough for 1 dedicated 'discord live' game a week. I dropped down to one and started looking at the play by post options and repeatedly saw Myth-weavers mentioned as a great community for pbp. I'm hoping to get the hang of how things work around here and then start applying and find a game or two to join.

I've seen the tips posted for the other into questions (start applying and looking at interest posts), so I'll start with that. The site looks cool and the community seems active so I'm looking forward to contributing.

Really glad to have you! Saw you come in on the Discord as well, and if you're already doing stuff with Foundry, then you definitely know what you're doing already.

Look forward to seeing what you do, whether it's running or playing (or both)!

Thanks for the note....I was definitely a player not the dm on foundry, but I came away with an appreciation of the platform.

 

One question, What's the distinction between what is talked about on discord vs the forum...anything specific?

The Discord tends to just be a bunch of people chatting about nothing in particular. There are different channels for things where people are more focused in their discussions (rules set-specific channels, a channel for DM advice, hobby-type channels, etc.), but there's nothing wrong with just sticking with the forums.

... and of course, some of us don't use Discord at all, so you have to come here to hang out with us. :D
