Butchern Posted September 3, 2022 Clone Share Posted September 3, 2022 Ironsworn players, @Vladim and I were talking about an Ironsworn dice roller and what it would need/what we would want. Can y'all think of anything beyond this: Put Iron(x) as the roll input (where x is the modifier to the action dice) and the roller would . . . -roll 1d10;1d10;1d6+x (and if the 1d6+x is greater than 10 cap it at 10) and output the result of all three dice. -calculate if the capped result of the 1d6+x was higher than no d10s (output: failure), higher than one d10 (output: weak hit), or higher than both d10s (output: strong hit). -Flag rolls where the d10s matched. Are we missing anything?
Vladim Posted September 3, 2022 Clone Share Posted September 3, 2022 That would be neat. The only other thing I could think of would be an additional optional argument of negative momentum, so if you'd input Iron(x,y) (the y being optional) it would set the d6 result to 0 if it rolled y. But I think it makes it too complex so maybe it's better to do it manually, and keep it simple, as the original post. It's also not super-common in my experience to have negative momentum, so the benefit is not huge.
