Description/Personality: Bulky body, fair skin, golden hair, green eyes, a few old scars here and there. Other than that, Adrian has a hardened aspect about himself. His gaze is severe. Adrian doesn't look like one of many friends, but one can trust he's reliable. He's assertive on what he wants and what not, and he spit it out. He usually doesn't start any trouble in civilian areas just to avoid headaches, but if problem finds him, he's eager to deal with it. He's not blind to the suffering of others, but he believes that this will harness them to be stronger when facing new adversities. When these same adversities come to poke him, he pokes back with the tip of his sword.

Character Questions:
Step 1:
1) His parents were merchants and they lived a quite happy, lucky life. He also had an older sister and they were fond of each other. (no GoT ref here, just good old sibling relationship)
2) In one chain of misfortune events, he witnessed the death of his parents, the abuse of his sister and her following death, all the while experiencing physical injuries. He doesn't believe in justice or kindness, just in power of the strongest.
3) He was sold as a slaver and bought by a blacksmith to help at the forge. The smith actually didn't want a slave, nor was it allowed. He just saved the boy from an unknown future. So Adrian worked his muscles to the brink of exhaustion.
4) A few years later, his hardworking caught the eyes of a Paladin. He wanted Adrian to be his squire of sorts. They worked together for quite some time.
5) Being released of duty to forge his own path, Adrian adopted the path of steel. He wasn't a cruel person, but believed strongly that the law of the most powerful would apply anywhere. So he ought to be the most powerful in order to protect the weak.
6) He still remembers the faces of those inhuman figures that raided their settlement, and the faces of those bastards who "saved" him.

Step 2:
1) He wants to find all the people and monsters that wronged his family and pay them tenfold. It's not a matter of simple vengence. It's about fireproofing his strength and dominance.
2) I would like to see him face challenges that he can't overcome easily with the swing of a sword. Things that might shake his concept of life.

Step 3:
1) His "holy symbol" is one of his sister's canines (dog-tooth). It was removed by the first batch of evil doers. He collected it from the ground when he heard she was dead as a memento of his family and everything he lost because he lacked power by the time.
2) His sister, Beatrice, was still alive and was found later by a religious procession. They treated her wounds, took her in to their monastery and taught her their teachings. She managed to overcome the pain of her past and thread a rather different path than Adrian, one that others would call more noble or radiant.

Step 4:
1) Adrian remembers the sweet smell of his mother, the soft voice of his father, and the joyful laugh of his sister. Perhaps those memories are the last string that keep him from becoming a monster himself.
2) Adrian remembers the smell of blood and burning flesh of his mother, the naïve pledges of his father, and the painful screams from his sister. Those memories forbid him from threading out of his path for power and strength.
3) Adrian is a virgin, lacking any romantic experiences whatsoever. There's no way to predict how he would handle such a situation. Perhaps he would just try and cut it down quietly. Perhaps he would boil up and enrage. Perhaps he would panic and flee. Who knows?!

Step 5:
Adrian was born among the nomad merchants of the Kariv culture. He remembers the sunny days, the soft breeze of the wind, the music, dance, and joy of his folk. His parents, Karl and Alicia Copper, used to trade spices, detaching from the main bulk of the caravan from time to time with a few others. He also had an older sister, Beatrice. She was only a couple years older, but had a motherly instinct that already established their relationship as one of caring and not competing. He doesn't remember much of the names of his tribe, since he was too young to be formerly presented to society. In fact, Adrian would be his adult name when the time comes. His childhood name was Cotton Candy.

One day they were carrying a batch of Azure Pepper, a blue-ish powder with a strong smell and a bit hot on the taste. Three families were delivering the goods to the wine makers of Zigistad. After crossing Khorsburg, the caravan had been warned to take the long route up to Zobeck and then southeast to Zigistad. They would have to pay tolls at Neuradell, Zobeck and Gelburg, not to mention it would take them too long to cover the over 500 miles. So they purchased a local map and decided it would be better to take the straight route to the west-northwest, a mere 150 miles journey.

They should have listened to the warnings. They should have paid attention to the omens. Days in the journey and the sun light was dimming down. The sky turning grey. Clouds forming on the horizon. The horses were agitated, restless, neighing, shaking their heads and hitting the ground with their hoes. Something was amiss, but we couldn't see. Beatrice held Adrian inside the wagon, comforting him and lying that everything would be okay. She couldn't know. Nobody could know. They didn't have enough swords.

They burst out through a hole in the ground. Pale skins, pointy ears, bloody eyes. Some though they were elves, or drows, anyone they could reason with. There was no reasoning. They were there to feast. Flesh was in the menu and we wasn't carrying any animal meat. The screams started quickly. Horror filled cries, shouts, screams of all sort. There was the sound of things being tore appart. Cloths, leather, wood, flesh. They eventually broke in our wagon and took my sister by the hair. Adrian tried to hold tight her waist, but lost grip at the first fall. He fell to the ground and the wagon collapsed over him, trapping him underneath. He couldn't get out, and couldn't stop watching. He saw everything. His mother being stripped and cut open like a pig. They devoured her first. They even fed her to his father, marking him somehow. There were more death noises all around. The smell of blood, so strong, so intoxicating. They were over Beatrice. She screamed as they pulled out a tooth, a canine. Sickening laugh filled the air as they just tossed the tooth away. It fell close to Adrian. He quickly grabbed it, as if he could gather all of his relatives parts and sew them back together. Horror and agony. There was no room for anything else.

The clopping sound got louder quickly. Adrian could see the knights coming fast. A hint of hope drew a relieved smile on his face. Hope didn't last long. They drove in, trampling on ghouls and humans alike. What kind of recue was that?! They started swinging their blades from the top of their horses, killing as many ghouls they could, but a rather large quantity managed to slip back into their hole, taking Adrian's father with them. When there was no more enemies around, they dismounted and started looting corpses here and, kicking open a few chests and checking whatever riches they had found. Once they were done with the gold and goods, they decided it was time to satisfy their desires. They gathered together the last three women alive, despite their poor conditions, my sister included, and ... some time later, they complained the girls were dead. They laugh hard and were about to leave when they noticed the poor boy under the wagon. One knight took his blade to Adrian's face, but another stopped him. They discussed about whether or not that boy was more trouble than profit. Finally, they decided to take Adrian with them and try to sell him at some small village. When they pulled him out and up on his fit, Adrian couldn't hold any longer and vomited on the knights boots. He managed to see a fist before everything got dark.

The memory of travelling with those knights was blurry. It becomes clear when they sold the boy to a Smith at a small town with a characteristic crimson tower. The Smith didn't buy Adrian as a slave, but rather in a way to save the boy from the grasp of those bandit knights. He would provide clothes, food and shelter. In return, Adrian helped him in the forge, carrying stuff, feeding charcoal to the burner, and slowly learning the tools of the trade. That Smith wasn't harsh and not even remotely as kind as his relatives were, but he wasn't a bad person either. It didn't take long for Adrian to see in him the role of a Foster Dad.

A few years later, Adrian was no longer a kid. He was a teenager now. A Paladin from Schio was visiting relatives in Peltzenheim, and on his way back, he stopped at Redtower to rest for the night and get his gear repaired at the local Smith. He was mesmerized by how skilled Adrian was at helping the old Smith and got curious about their story. After hearing, the man couldn't believe that the boy wasn't destroyed inside and acknowledged his willpower. The adults talked about what future Adrian would have there at the Smith and an alternative, following the Paladin Loren Archbald as his squire. At last, they both agreed it would be best if the teenager started learning the way of the sword. Adrian left the city with the Paladin that very day.

A handful years later, Adrian was an adult already. He no longer served as a squire, but rather was threading his own path. And why not taking a job of escorting a caravan to make ends meet?
