Roles on the ship:

Captain (Tactics)
Engineer ( Repair)
Combined Ops/Shields (Computer Use)
Gunner (feat needed)
Combined Gunner/Copilot/Nav (Aid another access to other roles, (feat needed) )
Pilot (Pilot)
Combined Sensor/Comms Officer ( Computer Use)
Unknown Role

Kar Tesh sits in the new station:

The seat feels strange, the controls are different from other seats they do not seem to be a computer terminal just a place where you place your hands. When you do so a tingling sense comes all over your body, not unlike when you try to cast the cantrips the captain has been training you on.

Kar-Tesh moves to the Co-Pilot chair and logon with ease.

From here the Co- Pilot can view what each station is doing, access the data but cannot modify it. You can help with any checks by viewing what they are doing then sending what you think will help them do their task.

The ship does not have any cloak, just a simple projected hologram display that is covering the hole's exit.

The batch files allow a non proficient user logon and use the computer station, there is not much else you can do but to try to make it faster. The batch is interacting with the ship systems, so as a computer user you would know when an empty box with nothing in it comes up with two empty buttons at bottom, you can figure out which one is OK and which one is Cancel. There is a ton of these sorta choices when you logon. As you look at the batch file, it does some strange things when it interacts with the ship systems, it will pass a value into a function but when you open the function, its empty of code, then at the bottom the value comes back out changed, so its not empty but you cant see anything.

The -1 to checks is because your not using original interface, the computers onboard are just not good enough to process the data fast enough from the crystal systems.

You spend the 12 hours trying to get a work around but without be able to write the crystal system its an impossible feat. Someone must have coded the batch files so there is a way to access and read the system, you just dont know how(without trying to research how to do that)

You continue to Push the crystals and twice seem to get stuck with nothing new happening but find another combo to continue. You feel your making process and discover that the output of the crystals are not able to be seen by human eyes, the output is there but you need a way to detect it. You need someone who knows about the unseen world(arcane)

Another hour has you crack the display, you can get it to light up and you now know you need to see into the higher plane, the Ethereal plane, to read the crystals on the ship. You now can use the basic functions of the crystal systems, as soon as you can view the data.

With remaining time, if any, Enoch heads to the library to look up what he can on Arcanum. Also, he sends a message to the captain. <<It appears that some of the displays by which the crystals show data are not accessible via normal means. They are projected on some other wavelength through ESP or some sort of ethereal mechanism. Have you any equipment that would enable trans-dimensional viewing?>>

After ants attack

Kartesh returns to the bridge and checks his station, realising it's working he sits down and gets to work.

He checks the Nav log and looks into the destination the ants were trying to take the ship too.

He records the route and the destination in the computer for later checking via the star maps.

He then goes on to Farhvans signal check.

Firstly he runs a navigation check using a direct site-to-site check from our present location to Capitalism.

Once he has the route he uses the computer to calculate the distance between the two locations.

He then using the computer he runs two checks to gauge the signal speed site to site of both devices to calculate time to destination, based on the device signal speed.

Kartesh then runs secondary checks using the route of signals through the comm network if if was bounced via the most direct route to capitalism.

He then calculates the distance total. And then checks both device signal speeds against that distance to determine how long it would take to get there.

Finally he does one final round of calculations.
But based on the direct distance to the projected destination the ants were heading too.
And then calculating how long both signals would take to get there.

You calculate it will take 28 days for the signal to get to the station. The distance is 185 million light years to travel. The station is ONLY 30,000 light years from your home system.
