Background As much of Lachiel's time has been spent in the forest as out of it. Hers was a family that lived with the Lake-Elves on the edge of Esgaroth. From an early age Lachiel was drawn to the water, and the idea of freedom it gave her. The wonders it brought her in the form of Humans and their stories was more than enough to hold her interest. Spending years around Humans and the occasional Dwarf showed Lachiel that the Shadow was growing from all corners of Middle Earth. Though every Elf of Mirkwood knew of its threat, only some heeded the call to fight it. Lachiel felt this burgeoning in her heart. So, she called in what favors her family had to get a meeting with the king. It took a year, but it finally came. In that evening she told him of the evil threatening the hearts of the other races, and how the Shadow was much closer than previously thought. Lachiel asked to have her duty changed to that of finding worthy alliances to help Mirkwood. Thranduil did not grant Lachiel's request, instead saying that her duty was needed to the west. Orcs were threatening the livelihood of Woodmen-Town and the king had promised aid. She was given the order to accompany other Elves to go and fight them off and help in any other way the town may need afterward.
