farothel Posted May 26, 2022 Clone Share Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) Basic Stats Name: Chalia Gremaris Race: Elf (Cavern Elf) Class: Fighter background: Archeologist Link to Character Sheet: Chelia Gremaris Appearance The first thing that you notice is that she's quite muscled for an elf. the second thing you notice is that while most elves are quite beautiful, she's rather plain looking with a lot of scars on her face from previous fights. She wears simple and durable clothes and is well armoured. Despite the armour, she moves with the grace that all elves have. Personality Due to her upbringing and the constant battles she's been in, she's very direct for an elf, preferring to speak plainly instead of the more circumspect style most elves use. She is fiercely loyal to her companions, but a bit withdrawn. She will only let go in those situations where she is sure they are safe and then glimpses of the old Chalia can be seen. Background Chalia's parents were explorers. They wanted to find and understand the old elven artefacts, including the aiudara network. So they spend a lot of their time in various ruins and caves all over Golarion. For Chalia it was heaven. As soon as she was old enough to accompany them, she fell in love with the research and the old stuff they found, even if it was just a few bits of crockery. The entire group of researchers became sort of surrogate parents and they all took a liking to the little girl who asked questions all the time. When she was 10, the group was in the north, camping near a cavern, when they were attacked by a group of giants. Chalia had just gone to the latrine and was away from the camp. Without thinking she ran into the cave and stayed there until it dawn. Moving out carefully, she saw that the camp was ransacked and everybody was dead. She managed to find a compass (too small for the giants to be of any use) and with what she had already learned about survival, she moved south. She was found by a hunting party of elves, who listened to her story and took her to their village. There she stayed, but the carefree and happy girl of before was gone, replaced by a young woman who was determined to have revenge for what was done to her parents and their friends and colleagues. She trained hard with the village militia, learning how to use a variety of weapons, but mostly focusing on the greatsword. But after a while she got restless and moved on, going from place to place. She often hired out as caravan guard to travel, which is also how she came to know Ambrost Mugland. Her wanderings brought her all over Golarion and Alkenstar was no exception. Here she was hired by Ambrost Mugland to protect an expedition he was going to send out to check out a rumour of an artefact from the wastelands. They ran in all sorts of trouble, but they did find something (she didn't know what, the expedition leader was very tight lipped about it). Only she and two others made it back to the city and there it turned out that one of them made off with the artefact. As she had been there, she was implicated and to say Mugland was unhappy was quite an understatement. She was now a wanted criminal, despite having done nothing wrong. Chalia's backstory firmly cements her into the setting and it sounds like she has a good motive that ties in with the story of the adventure path. Mechanically, everything looks good as well! I'll tag Chalia as Complete; there are still a few weeks left until the closing date so feel free to make any changes until then if you want to.
