SelenaSelena Moonbrook
Human Cleric of Twilight
DND beyond character sheet

Background:

Selena was not like the other children in her village. From a young age, she displayed unusual abilities and a profound fascination with ancient artifacts and forgotten histories. Her parents, unable to comprehend her unique nature, feared and ostracized her. One fateful night, as she wandered alone in the moonlit woods, she encountered a mysterious figure cloaked in silver light. This was the moment that Selûne, the Moon Goddess, revealed herself to Selena, recognizing the special spark within her. Embracing her new identity as a chosen one of Selûne, Selena left her village behind to embark on a journey of discovery, both of her true self and the world's hidden past.

Description:

Selena stands gracefully at an average height with a presence that exudes both mystique and determination. Her skin seems to faintly shimmer in the moonlight, hinting at her celestial connection. Long silver hair cascades down her back, and her eyes, the color of the night sky, hold an ancient wisdom that belies her youth. She adorns herself in robes woven from silken threads, embroidered with lunar motifs, a testament to her devotion to Selûne. Always in the possession of her well-used archeologist's tools and a staff adorned with a radiant moonstone, she appears ready for any adventure that comes her way.

Personality:

Selena possesses a tranquil and composed demeanor, often calming those around her with her serene presence. Her extensive knowledge of ancient civilizations and forgotten lore, combined with her archeological expertise, makes her an invaluable source of information within her field. She is inquisitive, curious, and always eager to uncover the truth behind hidden mysteries. Despite her isolation and the hardships she faced growing up, she harbors no bitterness and believes in the inherent goodness of people.

Summary:

As a cleric and archeologist, Selena's journey begins with her acceptance of her divine calling and her dedication to the goddess Selûne. Her clerical powers stem from her unwavering faith and her alignment with Selûne's aspect of guiding and protecting those who venture in the darkness, seek the lost, and undertake quests. With her archeological background, Selena seeks to explore ancient ruins, decipher forgotten scripts, and piece together histories long buried in the sands of time. United with her faith and her passion for the past, she embarks on an extraordinary adventure, unearthing the world's secrets while basking in the silver glow of Selûne's divine grace. Alongside her companions, she strives to bring hope to those in despair and be a beacon of light in the darkest of nights.

Lineage:

During one of her late-night encounters with Selûne in the moonlit woods, the goddess bestowed a blessing upon Selena, allowing her to willingly embrace the moon's transformative influence. Under the moon's light, she finds solace and empowerment, gaining heightened abilities, mirroring those of a lycanthrope nature, without the loss of control. This unique bond enhances her clerical powers, and she cherishes the balance between her human and lycanthropic aspects, using it as a gift to protect the lost and the questing with a primal fierceness tempered by her reverence for the Moon Goddess.

Item choices:

  1. Robe of Useful Items (uncommon)
  2. Harkon’s Bite (uncommon) if available, if not then a Broom of Flying (uncommon)
  3. Potions: 3x Healing, 3 Greater Healing

I'd like to actually have Harkon’s Bite (uncommon), but it has a curse of making you a werewolf, and I'm not sure if thats ok with you.

A dire wolf tooth dangles from this simple cord necklace. While you wear it, the necklace grants you a +1 bonus to ability checks and saving throws.

Curse. Attuning to Harkon’s Bite curses you until either Harkon Lukas removes the necklace from you or you are targeted by a remove curse spell or similar magic. As long as you remain cursed, you cannot remove the necklace.

Upon donning or removing the necklace, whether you are attuned to it or not, you are afflicted with werewolf lycanthropy as detailed in the Monster Manual. The curse lasts until the dawn after the next full moon. If you are still wearing the necklace at this time, you are afflicted with the lycanthropy again.

I was wondering in Jacerin would have bumped into Selena as well across his years treasure hunting, given her profession and his penchant for robbing old tombs. I imagine she'd not approve of his ways given he cares as much for archaeology as he needs to in order to value up the antiques and spot the best places to look, rather than out of a love for history, and seems fairly opposite in terms of personality in general (calm, mystical, smart, thoughtful vs chatty common chap who jumps in and hoping for the best, and infuriatingly seems to always land on his feet). Perhaps she disapproves of him and his seemingly concerted effort to avoid actually learning anything about ancient cultures, but given he's generally genial and goodnatured doesn't actually dislike him as as person? So he'd spend as much time as he could finding the edge of what's acceptable teasing without actually making her hate him.

Oh, I think that can work well. she'd be the type to take back to a museum to learn about the artifacts and items etc.
She'd probably see him as a bit fast and loose, a bit reckless, not that he would hate him, just disprove of his methodology and what he does with them after.
Happy to work with that!
