BACKSTORY

Ameila was born in a small village within the city-state of Gynleah. She was as young as nine when her powers first started to develop. At first she hid them out of fear, fear of herself and fear of what others may think of the unusual abilities she was developing. Her families was one of the many that grew the rare nigh rose, and she knew that magic was not always something that one could trust, worst still when such powers came upon you unwanted and uncontrolled.

While she hid her powers as well as she could it was not meant to be and before long her parents caught her using these powers. At first they attempted to simply hide her and her powers, but as the questionable nature of her powers became more and more obvious, her parents had less and less sympathy for her or her plight, and what had been an unspoken rule to hide her capabilities from the city's leader Amdastrah Drayl soon became a complication her parents did not want. She had siblings and her parents wanted to be able to focus on them, and quickly began to feel that their sister was perhaps too dangerous and too much trouble to be worth it.

When Amelia overheard the conversation between her parents where she was sure they were planning to turn her out, and perhaps even turn her over to something fearsome, she chose instead to run away. At the age of 14 she fled her house in the dead of night and never looked back, convinced her parents had turned on her.

She spent the next nine years traveling from village to village and city to city, this lead her to an array of skills and talents, as well as a string of poor choices behind her. She would constantly seek to make more of her life, despite her constant struggles.
