I'm going to roll read a tense myself!

Read a Tense Situation
When you read a tense situation, roll with Cunning.

Role
On a 7–9, ask 1.
On a 10+, ask 3.
Take +1 when acting on the answers.
Ώ What’s my best way out / in / through?
Ώ Who or what is the biggest threat?
Ώ Who or what is most vulnerable to me?
Ώ What should I be on the lookout for?
Ώ Who is in control here?

I assume you mean for the crowd as a group to pull through or specifaly for Hoop?

Captain Mcluckhen is the biggest threat; The Eyrie are very heirarchical and without her, the troops might get confused.

To be on lookout for is that the tension is high for both direction- it isnt normal for the Eyrie to be that trigger happy.

It seems the Eyrie force are also frusrated with the situation, and it might be not so easy to diffuse it without violence and chaos.

They seems determines to teach the denizens a lesson- so they would be more brutal then usual

Roll

Still not used to this... let's pray I can save the poor otter. 🫣

EDIT: Ok so now I need to roll one more time? To make sure he survive before a professional see him? Maybe this roll could be either an easy Might roll to move him close to the fire (easy since we have lots of people that would be helping this time around)?

PS: Kinda a shame, I was one number away to save him LOL

Ok so I ask " What’s my best way out / in / through? " and get a +1 to the Finesse Roll to act on it and move throught the crowd:

Roll

(+2 Finesse and +1 from Read teh Tense Situation) "crossing fingers"

EDIT: OOF! Partial Success only with the +3! I have the feeling I might be able to go throught the crowd but my mangoose partner might not. Or vice versa lol!

Roll

Darn, Charm is my weakest stat. I'll probably need to request Rikki help to get a +1 to the roll "crossing fingers"

EDIT: Well at least I tried :orcsad:

EDIT 2: Could I use " Trick a NPC " instead to roll with Cunning? Keeping the same roll? Or... could Rikki roll herself? I dont know her stats but it feels to me she has a higher Charm stat then mine.

41 minutes ago, Elbeyon said:

NPCs don't really have charm/might/luck etc. Those are for main characters!

Then my only hope is being able to lie to the poor doctor... and being somewhat a villain doing so.

Like... mentionning it's a marchand and a slave seller and that he would surely accept to escort the poor doctor to the next clairing, that the mangoose accompagning him is a strong warrior, etc.

I guess it will be karma that both left with the good doctor by the time we come back :steepled:

EDIT: Darn. Threats also is a Charm roll. So my backup idea wont work.

Is my post fine? At least with proper medical supplies, I could maybe save him? A warm Raincoat and a medical suitcase (like the one doctors use to take when travelling to client's home, seem appropriate.

Otherwise, I can maybe try to sabotage their wagon. Petty but hopefully, they will be stuck in Honeywell now.

Ok, that didn't work. Lets try again: Roll

EDIT: OMFG! I'll use the depletion + Exhaustion part to make it a partial success, barely saving the poor otter life. Really wish I didn't have to though. I dont even care about that otter lol :orctongue:

EDIT 2: Can I be blamed if the Otter died? What would be the negative repercussions if he died? Would you guys mind if Slithers help wasn't enouigh to save it? And would the doctor would still have to get paid if we don't save it?
