Boilerdrak

Large object

Armor Class 15

Hit Points 95/100

Damage Immunities poison, psychic

This wagon-sized device is designed to look roughly like a dragon. Before it can be used, the boilerdrak must be lit and aimed. It takes 1 action to light the weapon, 1 action to aim it, and 1 action to fire it. When you use your action to fire it, roll a d20. If you roll a 2 or higher, use the Flames action. If you roll a 1, use the Explosion action.

Flames. The boilerdrak expels flames in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 27 (5d10) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Explosion. The boilerdrak explodes in a 30-foot-radius sphere and is destroyed. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 27 (5d10) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

COIN TOTALS:

  • 5900 copper (59 gold)
  • 3100 silver (310 gold)
  • 190 gold

Purchasing a Pearl

If you wish to purchase a 100 gp pearl from the marketplace, you can post an off-handed comment about stopping by on your way to or from the mayor’s makeshift headquarters in the Brass Crab.

Either way, the people of Vogler recognize you all as the ‘Heroes of High Hill’, by now, and so they’re eager to offer a 10% discount. You can convince them to lower it a little more by rolling a contested Charisma (Persuasion) check (the Jeweler rolls 1d20 + 0). Subtract the Jeweler’s roll from your roll. If the difference is negative or 0, then you pay 90 gp for the pearl. You pay 1 gp less than 90 gp for every point of positive difference between your roll and theirs. You may receive help (help action for advantage), as well as the guidance spell, bardic inspiration, or any other method available to you to increase the roll, but only one of you may make the roll. In other words, if you roll a 23 and they roll an 18, you can buy your pearl for 85 gp because 23 – 18 = 5, and thus 90 gp – 5 gp = 85 gp.

Shopping from first day in Kalaman/4th day of campaign

Note: In terms of just coin and not any of the other valuables, everyone has 80 gold each. Subtracting 15 gold per person for the pearl for the identify spell, everyone has 65 gold each.

Mery's purchases:

  • 4 stacks of arrows - 4 gold (this will be subtracted from Mery's 10 gold personal stash and not the group stash, but the purchase will be made on this same trip.)
  • 1 set of thieves' tools - 25 gold
  • 1 blank book - per prior discussion with Rin, 11 gold
  • 2 drums - 6 gold (the 6 gold for the second drum will be covered by Mery's 10 gold personal stash)
  • 1 fine clothes outfit [tan functional outfit, can be worth with armor & fought in] for Lady Michelle - 15 gold (note: this should be repaid by the Folketh estate when convenient)
  • Weaver's Kit for handkerchief repair - 1 gold
  • 1 pearl for the identify spell - 100 gold

Spent: 158 gold

Left:

  • 100 copper (1 gold)
  • 2100 silver (210 gold)
  • 190 gold

Total: 401 gold

Mery's remainder in the group stash is 7 gold

  • 3 weeks later...
  • 2 large bolts of cloth—one could easily make approximately 60 sets of clothing with these bolts if the patterns are carefully placed and no allowance for mistakes were made, or 50 sets of clothing if a little allowance is made.
  • 60 gp in silver and copper—a heavy bag of coin intended to be distributed amongst the impoverished Voglerites, though you all could pocket it if you were so inclined—or choose to use it on behalf of the Voglerites if you feel you know a better way.
  • 12 books, each worth 25 gp—Many of the formerly upper-class Voglerites can read, and even some of those that had been middle-class. Once used to help entertain/educate the children, they could be sold or traded for market value.

  • 1 approximately 350-year-old full set of Solamnic Armor. The family crest need merely be switched out by a smith hammering out the rivets and riveting in Artanis’s crest.
  • 1 very dirty, road-worn, and sweat soaked set of fancy noble’s male clothing. If washed, it would sell for a pretty penny.
  • 170 gp
  • 190 sp
  • 60 ep
  • 700 cp
  • 1 nice set of breastplate armor from the noble (also crested with Cevelcedi arms)
  • 1 very nice rapier. At first, the rapier looks a bit fancy, but the black splotches on the blade mar its surface, but then you realize that those aren’t stains, they’re tarnish! It’s a silver rapier!
  • 1 knight’s blade, similarly, is silver!
  • 7 throwing axes (handaxe)
