Clue-InTrigger Another creature attempts a check to investigate a lead you're pursuing. You share information with the triggering creature. They gain a circumstance bonus to their check equal to your circumstance bonus to checks investigating your subject from Pursue a Lead. The GM can add any relevant traits to this reaction depending on the situation, such as auditory and linguistic if you're conveying information verbally. action_reaction_black.pngFrequency once per 10 minutes
Devise a StratagemYou assess a foe's weaknesses in combat and use them to formulate a plan of attack against your enemy. Choose a creature you can see and roll a d20. If you Strike the chosen creature later this round, you must use the result of the roll you made to Devise a Stratagem for your Strike's attack roll instead of rolling. You make this substitution only for the first Strike you make against the creature this round, not any subsequent attacks.

When you make this substitution, you can also add your Intelligence modifier to your attack roll instead of your Strength or Dexterity modifier, provided your Strike uses an agile or finesse melee weapon, an agile or finesse unarmed attack, a ranged weapon (which must be agile or finesse if it's a melee weapon with the thrown trait), or a sap.

If you're aware that the creature you choose is the subject of a lead you're pursuing, you can use this ability as a free action.

DETAILS

APPEARANCE:
Tall and thin, lithe and lean, Tannivhara (Tann to his friends) is an eclectic mix of traits. A scholarly bookworm who has clearly put miles wear on his boots and many months in wild, untamed lands. An outdoodsman who seems equally at home in a tent beside a unnamed stream as he is in some Academy library researching obscure knowledge. Seeming both delicate and rugged, he carries himself with typical elven grace. Even when he's on the attack, his precise strikes appear more like a dance than an exchange of blows.

His gear is also an odd mix -- a worn leather shirt that has seen better days and much repair; dense, heavy clothes that have been patched and darned repeatedly, and an ordinary looking rapier that shows years of repair, sharpening and use, along with an expensive looking backpack that is worth more than all the rest of his clothing and gear combined.

Bryn always seems to have a serious, humorless expression set upon his features. Conversation tends to be all business -- never personal unless there is something he can learn to better himself. His eyes are a sharp, piercing hazel, always on the move looking for signs of danger. He sits poised, coiled, and ready to leap into action.

PERSONALITY
Quiet and bookish, Tannivhara can (and does) go days without speaking a word, content with his studies in forgotten religious lore or traveling to long-forgotten ruins to delve for long-lost details of a people who have long returned to the earth. As hard as it is to get him to open up, once he feels comfortable around a person, it can be twice as challenging to shut him up. Navigating these two extremes can be nightmarish for people who aren't expecting it, though if they're around him long enough, it becomes evident that, despite any evidence to the contrary, he always seems means well, no matter how often he may stick his foot in his mouth.

BACKGROUND:
Tann's life started off simple and uneventful. A humble scholar, had things been different, he would've likely found a career in academia as a professor, or in another scholarly pursuit, perhaps as an author, a translator or, given his love of the written word, as a librarian. His life was irrevocably changed with his first archaeology elective. One class was all it took for his smoldering curiosity to be ignited into an insatiable inferno. The following semester, his apprenticeship to that same professor and the journey to an archaeological dig to explore the ruins of a long-dead civilization was all it took for him to get hooked to the thrill of exploration and adventure.

Since then, Tann discovered that the serene, sedate life of an academic no longer held the appeal it once did after experiencing the harrowing, death-defying life of an adventurer. Now, a recent graduate of the Academy, he's ready to travel, explore, and discover what has long been forgotten.
