  6. Dear Saintaclaus, For New Yearsmas I'd like a warhammer (could be like... a sledgehammer or something laying around), a battleaxe (Maybe a fire axe even though it's not 2-headed), a shield (could go jank with a manhole cover and some straps of some kind or just a riot shield dropped by a dead officer), and any heavy armor deemed appropriate for the setting (again, maybe riot gear for a more modern take on heavy armor). Eventually a pistol would be neat but that's more a want than a need. I've been a very good 47 year old man this year. Signed, Kozak
  7. This is just what you need/want for your starting kit. Do note you may not actually start with it and you don't really need to worry right away about things like adventuring supplies. Those things you'll have to acquire during the game due to the unique starting situation. I just wanna know what weapons, armor, focii, etc you need to function in your class right away.
  8. /signed to prove you read this.
  9. So here we're going to go over some general rules and regulations for participating in this game. 1) The game is set modern day (ish) and current events could naturally come up in conversation. This is fine and it's even important to lend credibility to the game. It's important we keep our political hot takes to ourselves though. Making a one off comment is fine but this game isn't the place for discussion. 2) This game is rated "R" thanks to the in character aspect being hosted on a private Discord server. So swearing is fine but it's important to still regulate what you say a bit, particularly hate speech or overly sexually charged commentary. 3) All characters are expected to generally be good people and if not previously very heroic, willing to evolve into heroism. If your character's plan is to bunker down and hide while other people deal with this problem... go reroll a character who wants to be in a D&D game. 4) "This is really disruptive" "LOl idk it's what my character would do" "Well reroll someone who isn't a-" 5) Post one time in this thread with /signed to prove you read this. If you post a character sheet before you do this, it just tells me you didn't and I'm gonna call it out. 6) PVP is mutually consensual only. 7) Romance is fine. I like it when romance happens in games as it usually means players are immersed. That said, this is a time you discuss that out of character and agree before anything goes on in character. 8) "I mind control the dog and use it to run down the hallway to find traps" "Go reroll someone who isn't a-" I mean it. Good people here. Can be troubled, can have your demons, but generally good people. 9) Despite the R rating, violence need not be needlessly graphic all the time. Sexual content should be reigned down even to PG-13. Themes like child murder, sexual assault or torture are NOT welcome in this game in any capacity and you can take this as much as a promise from me as a rule for you. 10) Any racially charged language or ideas should be kept to yourself. The game is set modern America, yes. We all know we have problems with race still. This game should be an escape from that. There are vampires now. Nobody has time for this.
  10. It's Decent 29th, 2023 11:30pm est Time's Square, Manhattan, New York The party is building towards it's crescendo when a mysterious castle appears in the sky above the city. Many people wisely begin to panic, fleeing indoors or down the street while others just stare and loudly speculate. Some think it's a sign of the end times while others believe it's just a very elaborate projection. The former were right... As the year turns, black shapes fill the sky and those too stupid to have fled before, or those trapped by the crowds, become a buffet line as winged monstrosities descend from the sky and begin abducting people. Most flee, many freeze and die, some fight back to mixed results. Yet some discover an as of yet dormant potential within themselves, the will to resist and the ability to do it effectively. This is a Dungeons and Dragons game set in the modern day during the start of a magical re-awakening in the world. You will play as normal(ish) humans who discover you've always had magical potential and now it's awakening. You can, of course, play a purely martial class and just find you're a natural fighter willing to square up!
  11. This game is going to entirely use the 2024 proposed Player's Handbook rules. This isn't technically a playtest as we are late enough in the UA cycle that MOST of the mechanics aren't going to change much now with just a few outliers. You can still use 2014 content but any mechanic that has been updated in 2024's rules, we will use the new version. This includes class/subclass changes, racial changes, etc. There's a link to a site that updates with each new iteration for easy referennce. Starting Stats: Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) Starting level: 1 but I promise we're gonna level fast early on. Races Allowed: Any in the core rules* *You all have to be human because of the nature of the game. However, if you want a different race's kit, you can reskin that race to be human and steal it's features.
