Detailed Description

You, veteran adventurers that you are, have come to the thriving port city of Avonlin due to the call for aid. Each of you have come for your own reasons, but those are irrelevant to the people of Avonlin, much less their Lord, Leonardo. He only cares that the trade route between mainland, resource-rich Avonlin, and the port-capital of Avonlin remain undisturbed, a task which now falls to you. Something has been interrupting convoys and stealing pack animals or people from them without warning or trace. Only once or twice a month, but that it's happening at all is cause for concern. How will you discover the cause, and what will you do when you find it?

A short little adventure which sprung out of an idea I had a while back, there are several options for solving this issue. hope you enjoy it.

  1. What's new in this game
  2. Question for bold since I made an occult class. Do I need to change it?
  3. A humanoid creature with a ponytail walks in. Her hair is black, and her face is masked with unforgettable fierce amber eyes that gives a hint to her rough heritage. She wears pink tights top to bottom. "It is nice to have a break from my shift once in a while. Lordly edicts whatnot, I could convince Seth for a sabbatical but then I would be bored out of my mind." Jita surveys the layout of the foundation and the variety of refreshments. "What a vista. They sure know how to spoil a gal." The half-orc massager takes a glass of wine as she moves towards the balcony overlooking the city and points of interests to sit by the table adjacent to half-elf. When the human toasts, she raises her glass. She lets the conversation between the half-elf and the elf wizard play out, sipping her wine before twisting her upper body towards them. "I hope I am not interrupting your conversation. I am just happy to see new faces. Where I frequent there are same faces that I tire of seeing most of the time." Jita points to herself. "Jita. No last name. Just Jita. It is a pleasure to meet you."
  4. "I am sure they will make themselves known in good time." Kyterniel replies to Tanith. He looks curiously at the human who might be a mercenary with the brandy. "Hmm, sword and shield, probably well versed in fighting."
  5. Show this I think you just click the spoiler button in the text editor. On second review, I think you're good. If you do get selected, I'm going to request you make a proper character sheet for him, but for now it works. welcome to the selection roulette. :)
  6. Ugh, let life get away from me for one week, and I instantly forget everything I came up with for this stuff. Sorry I'm late folks. New questions: HP: Max level 1, roll or average for the rest. Elephant in the room feats - yes Pre-game crafting: Within backstory. All non-psionic classes are allowed. All core races, plus Aasimar, Catfolk, Dhampir, Ifrit, Oread, Sylph, Tiefling, and Undine. Alignment and Class stereotypes - No. make a character, not a rules-checklist. X to Y: allowed, just don't be asking for the sake of stacking ridiculous amounts of buffs. if your character has reasons for it, I'm okay with it. Variant multiclassing: No. Background skills: No. Am I still around: Yes, sorry for ghosting you all. My bad.
  7. Well, that's two important arguments for the wings. I mostly wanted you to sell me on it for exactly that reason, and I like the war wound reason for the limited flight. consider me sold. :) All in all, I like her. Clean up whatever you feel the need to, and head over to the pre-game if you'd like.
  8. Tanith pours herself a glass, goes along with the toast. Then... "You think our putative employer is going to show up, or disappear like a fart in the wind?", she asks, apparently expecting the latter as opposed to the former.
  9. Kyterniel nods to Tanith, with a grin. "Ah yes, sounds like one of the Eldest. Powerful and mysterious. Thank you for the information, I am a little more enlightened." He ponders. "Curiosity can be a great asset. Driving force of inventions and discoveries. Fuel for ambitions." To the human with a glass of brandy, Kyterniel says "Hear, hear!" in agreement, strumming a chord in response.
  10. Forgive me if I do not indulge here (the pregame) , my experience with them has never been great.
  11. A human, obviously a warrior type given what appears to be a scabbard for a longsword at his side and a sturdy steel shield on his arm. The shields face shows a part of haroldry through the blackened leather covering it. This covering is knowen to mean either a ronan or mercenary . He lifts a glass of brandy, holds it high and says, "to life, to fame, to glory". He is somewhat accented in his speech.
  12. Tanith grins somewhat mischevously.. "That's the thing about Magdh, you never know exactly who you are dealing with. It is thought that her predictions allow her to weave fates to forestall calamity and disaster in general, Now, whether her agents are alive at the end of the forestalling is something else again. It's very much on a need to know basis and virtually no-one needs to know." She shrugs and adds.. "I worship her to see into the truth of things. Curiosity is ever a Mage's sin."
  13. "A pleasure to meet you, Tanith Camarilla, worshipper of Magdh." He smiles. At her question, the half elf replies "Yes, I believe that is correct." Kyterniel inclines his head in agreement, strumming absentmindedly at the lute. "Different specialties, a lot of them to do with a a particular focus on fighting styles. Some are aligned with the elements, others in response to whatever martial applications were best suited to the battlefield at the time." He pauses. "Tell me of Magdh. I am curious about different religions. I have heard that Magdh is one of the Eldest, but do not know much beyond that...?"
  14. "I am Tanith Camarilla, Magdh worshipper.", replies Tanith, returning the bow with a curtsey, formality begetting formality. "Pleased to meet you Kyterniel of the Eternal Rose." She then pauses for several seconds given that she herself finds people who seamless jump from introductions to enquiries somewhat offputting. "There's something on the order of dozens a monastic disciplines, no?", she asks by way of kicking off small talk.
  15. From his seated position, the male half elf bows slightly to the female elf who just walked in. He replies in Elven. "Yes, my name is Kyterniel, I am a monk of The Eternal Rose, Shelyn." He stops strumming for a moment, considering whether to pack his lute away.
  16. Classes - which are allowed? Races - which are allowed? Pets (eidolons, phantoms, constructs, purchased animals, etc.) - is there a maximum number allowed? Are pet classes frowned upon? Alignment - enforced? For example, is a neutral paladin allowed? Will a good cleric lose all abilities from, say, using poison? Class stereotypes - enforced? For example, will clerics be expected to heal and Druids expected to be nature experts? X to Y - frowned upon? Examples include Nature's Whispers (Oracle revelation), Orator (feat), and Student of Philosophy (trait). Variant Multiclassing - allowed? Background Skills - in effect?
  17. I was just wondering if Liam's at least good enough for the Pre-Game.
  18. A rather ordinary looking female elf hipsways in, looking confident but hardly appealing. She eyes the strumming male elf.. simple robe, no armor, leather muscle strapping.. with a look of curiosity... "Monk?", she enquires (in elvish), knowing full well that, by her own appearance, she could be nothing other than a wizard or some such, despite the obvious absence of a familiar. It was the component's belt that did it. Well maybe that and the ironclad assurance of someone who on occasion thinks they're god.. with a small g. The view was nice.. whomever owned this place was absolutely loaded. Still, she was unmoved with sea views, cherry blossom festivals and such things. She was moved by a killer chess move, the creation of an elegant system, elegant for her being a system pared down to the point where the removal of another component makes the whole thing fall apart and not say the cut of one's clothes. She also liked mathematical equations. In other words she was a complete and total nerd.
