  1. What's new in this game
  2. I'll decide when I'm ready to run the sequel. I'd save a copy of your PC somewhere, just in case though. Huzzah!
  3. thanks @Jedaii Great adventure and great work team!
  4. Thank you for this adventure, it was real fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Will you accept applications with these characters, as an actual sequel, or you'll go strictly for new ones?
  5. Well everyone, that's the conclusion of Death Duel with the Destroyers! You guys were outstanding and I really appreciate the RP and teamwork from everyone. I'll probably run the sequel The Island of Doctor Apocalypse after a break. Thanks again everyone!
  6. The LUMA Hotel, 12:21 p.m.   Everyone: Detective Klopp stands and smiles, "Whether you got Dr. Apocalypse or not, you folks did save the city from that giant dragon and defeated these criminals I've been chasing down for weeks! The city of San Francisco owes all of you a debt that can't be repaid and you have our thanks!"
  7. Urvogel moves to start removing weapons where he can see them and chimes in on the sitrep.   "They attacked when we flew up to the windows. Two got away that I know of. There could've been more that we didn't see."     OOC and Roll results
  8. Invulnerable "Aside from Psi-Star here, I think we're good, thank you, Detective. Though it'd be better to get him checked out by the EMTs around." Gesturing at the knocked out female villains, he says: "While the others got away, we got these two, and aside from their bolstering, I'm sure they could give us actionable intel. Can we hand them over to you, Detective for further questioning? Either Dr. Destroyer wasn't even here and this was a ruse, or he used them as a diversion, but they could tell us where to go next."
  9. "Nice to know you care, Detective." answered Mic, pursing his lips at the police officer. Rising, albeit gingerly he looks around at the others. "Been busy, huh? How many got away?"
  10. The LUMA Hotel, 12:21 p.m.   Everyone: As the heroes check on the fallen, there's the sound of hurried footsteps from the nearby emergency stairwell - and Detective Klopp opens the door! He stops and stares wide-eyed at the scene of the downed villains and the triumphant heroes! "Okay - who are they ... and which one is Dr. Apocalypse? Any casualties?" Klopp brings up his radio, "All units responding to the LUMA, 10-25 penthouse level NORTH for 10-26. 10-50 PI! 10-18! Copy?" As he begins walking around checking the villains, officers radio back confirmation. Klopp gets to Psi-Star and kneels next to him, looking around at the blood-stains, "Is he gonna make it?" He checks the hero's neck for a pulse ...
  11. Invulnerable "Good to hear, thank you.", he replies to Urvogel. "We need to restrain them securely, so we may get a few important answers." Taking a look around the room, he asks: "Tempest, where are you at? We have the women unconscious for now, the guys left, Psi-Star is still out, and we need to some answers, now.", giving her a quick sitrep. "Urvogel, Deadman, any ideas? Let's remove the armor and anything that could be used as an obvious weapon. And someone please check Psi-Star for vitals.", he says and measures the non-armored woman for the time being.
  12. @JagrHunter Psi-Star would regain consciousness momentarily, but he's still in rough shape (until his suit gets him fully recovered).
  13. @Inash Urvogel just gets the blurred consciousness associated with an unconscious mind - both female Destroyers are out for the count!
  14. Urvogel nods and turns his attention to the probably downed foes, checking for what their surface thoughts are.   "Both women are out."     OOC and Roll results telepathic scan. If a feat roll is needed, let me know and I'll do that with Karma
  15. Invulnerable As the villains flee, Invulnerable takes an instinctive step toward to grab them, but then changes his mind. "Let them go, for now, we'll have a chance to apprehend them later, of that I'm sure". Taking a good look at the seemingly unconscious woman, he turns to Urvogel: "Scan her mind, please, to check if she's really out or just a lure."
  16. PCs can pursue the fleeing Destroyers or tend to Psi-Star or secure the down villains or something else.
  17. The LUMA Hotel, 12:20 p.m.   Urvogel, Deadman and Invulnerable: The armored man grabs his helmet crouching in pain, "YEEEAARARGGHH! Enough of this! Another day, cretins - another day!" His boot jets ignite and he streaks past the heroes blasting through the penthouse wall and out the broken window - gone! The big red man looks at his ally's departure, "Annihilator, you %(!@#!!" The crimson giant leaps through the new opening in the wall and follows his compatriot out the window!
  18. points by saying that simple phrase. You can spend more, but 10 points is the requirement for making the statement. On the die roll you are modifying (always the one immediately after the announcement), you add the number of points equal to the amount of Karma you spend (at least 10, the amount you spent to start with). Other uses of Karma are described in the Karma section." Advanced Player's Book, pg 31. (we don't use the minimum of 10 Karma to be spent). "Spending Karma to manipulate die rolls: Whenever making a FEAT roll, the player may change the die roll by declaring, before combat begins, that she is spending Karma on the result. At this point, the player is committed to spend at least 10 Karma points (or her remaining reserve, if less than 10). After rolling the dice, a number equal to the amount of Karma spent is added to the result (at least 10 points, or the amount remaining). The player does not have to declare how much Karma is spent on the roll, only that she will be spending Karma." Advanced Player's Book, pg 38. Please don't get me wrong, no argument from me, I just thought these references might help (highlight from me). 🙂   Thanks @eltorin.
  19. the most recent pdf I found easily was the basic book. It said something to the effect of needing to announce what level you were wanting to modify the roll to. The karma spent then ends up the difference between the minimum needed for the desired outcome and the roll. Basically, I looked in the wrong book.
  20. "Using Karma in Combat: Karma is delved into deeply in the next chapter, but since it has an important effect on combat it should be mentioned here. Karma is used to manipulate the die rolls on the Universal Table. When a character decides to spend Karma, the player simply announces it. You automatically spend 10 Karma points by saying that simple phrase. You can spend more, but 10 points is the requirement for making the statement. On the die roll you are modifying (always the one immediately after the announcement), you add the number of points equal to the amount of Karma you spend (at least 10, the amount you spent to start with). 21. I'm a complete noob to this system and may have managed to find the wrong set of rules or misread it.
  22. Alright, then, Jedaii will help out. 🙂
  23. My reading was that you declare what result you are looking for. I said 'red', without looking at the table and seeing that would be 'kill'.
  24. You don’t need to declare the number of Karma beforehand. You can use as much as necessary.
