  1. Karadoon "Perhaps our best use of the remaining teavel time would be best spent bringing back the cannons we salvaged from the old pirate ship. That area would not be so far from the forest where the dog faced people are. If a working party dropped us off they could retrieve the cannons while we looped around to scout the dog faces more thoroughly and then made our own way home. When we entered their forest last time they appeared to have a large encampment set up. It was dozens if not hundreds of camp fires large. Could have been a permanent dwelling for them." 2. My current plan is to drop an ectoplasmic hemisphere 10 feet in diameter at square I have marked with double red "XX". My goal is to encapsulate all three in an ectoplasmic barrier. I think I counted the distance right to that square. But please check the math, I have a 70 foot range to work with. That should give me just enough space to put them in a bubble 18 inches thick. Each 10 square feet of bubble has 36 hit points. I know it won't hold them long but it should rob them of at least one round. if you guys could kill the opponents circling me in that round, when my wall drops we should be in a much better tactical position. I can form two more of these, that might buy Aranaias two rounds to get Duncan healed up before I can't block them anymore
  3. There are. We took them from the ghost pirate ship and buried them ashore. I think we got two of them off before things started breaking.
  4. Karadoon "Us and a few extras might be all we can muster for the winter. The dwarves are somewhat divided internally at the moment. Some of the humans are outright at war. The descriptions from the refugees make me think the Drakvians might side with the Maliente. Scouting the terrain, locating their encampments, outposts, and settlements is all good. And I'm definitely willing to burn a few tents after what I saw at the outpost. We could start over here where we labeled this are dog face people. These are a short race. Have kind of dog like features. They attacked us on sight. But I don't recall seeing them use magic. They are, so far as we can tell, very cruel. We found one of them we think the others buried alive in some sort of torture device...." Karadoon pointed to an area on their charts that was just north and slightly to the west of Free Harbor. 5. This is where I believe the Drakvian refugees could be a source of lore for us. We just need one or two advanced apprentices who finally decided to run away to make themselves known. If they are unwilling to stray from the camp, that's fine as long as they are willing to tutor us. And, if we did have a mage character join, we have a ready made reason for how the mage showed up here.
  6. This would also be a problem for wooden palisades, abatis, some shields, formations of bowmen.... Many potential applications here. I also wonder just how far we could ask our new friend in the forest to go for the cause. Magically derived plant matter would survive. If she could sacrifice a few limbs we might really be onto something. On an unrelated note, we once found a small trinket (an articulated toy metal horse, like a child's toy) stuck in a pouch in the river. It almost had the feel of a totem or charm put there as a good luck charm or something. Now that we have met our tree friend, I wonder if the river holds such a creature.
  7. Karadoon Karadoon squinted at Stavard. "I agree that promising to be home by winter on an expedition is risky proposition. Who can know what will happen. But what do you mean by preliminary rangings and commitments? I don't think I understand the scope of what you are suggesting." 8. I like this updated map you posted Powderhorn. Is it in the resources section also?
  9. Oh, so we did settle that town. Every time I think of it, I only remember the two specters peeling off the skeletons and attacking us. Karadoon was permanently scarred by that event.
  10. As for the debate on Iphigenia's hair, I always took it as reddish-brown, leaning towards red. Now that I am inspecting it more closely the pinkish part looks to me like a trick of the sun glare that seems to be coming in from behind her portrait.
  11. I was pretty sure Haven is where the group settled. Or is Haven where we were going to settle and abandoned it after the thing with Captain Stoddart? Which would make the current Free Harbor where the abandoned stone buildings were? Or at least close to them?
  12. Does Dahr-Ol need to roll for the River option? He's basically laying down in the boat. Obviously, if we take the mountain hike he will be active.
  13. I wouldn't say that too often. CHAT GPT (whose virtual reign I fully support) monitors a lot of web forums....
  14. Karadoon Karadoon stared in amazement at the earthen cover. It was an excellent idea. Clearly the members of Freehaven had stayed busy. He greeted the guard as an old friend. "You are a sight for sore eyes, friend! And yes we have found more allies than looked for. Though our enemies still hold the advantage and have demonstrated a blood thirst I did not expect. Ask the members of your order to gather in the hall after supper. There is grim news from the outpost, and remembrances to be held. I will explain tonight. Stavard, we should appraise the community as a whole of the situation before we discuss strategy. And learn how the crops look before we discuss taking anything. We barely managed to survive the last winter. This year we start in a much better position, but we also added the Drakvian refugees as mouths to feed." 15. Dahr-Ol of the Beornings Dahr-Ol sat up grimacing as he shifted the bandages over his injuries. "We've confirmed that Uruks from Mordor are present. And we can find our landing spot again so that a future force, or even the wizard himself could attack the Dwimmerhorn. That was the essence of our mission. You could leave Elfwynn and I at the base of the stairs to Mountain Home. Game and fish from the stream should be in sufficient supply." He ended his suggestion as a fit of coughing started. But it was not so long or so heavy as previous fits. Axe stats: Damage 9/Edge 10/Injury 20 Elfwynn nodded at Dahr-Ol's suggestion. "While my arm is slow to heal, rabbits are not so ferocious. We have survived longer with less to eat. With a week's rest we could make for Stonyford afterwards. His mother would be pleased for him to visit and certainly could help tend his wounds."
  16. I don't know where you sourced your original image for Iphigenia but maybe it would be possible to get that Chat GPT guy everyone is always talking about to switch up her hair color without re-drawing the whole character? Giving the book a quick perusal access to the magical arts at the cost of a focus does seem feasible as a nice work around.
  17. If you got undead answers don't be holding out. This issue has vexed Karadoon mightily. As has the concept of sharks. Have you seen these things? They follow the boats around waiting to swallow up humans. The ocean is crazy.....
  18. I think I came in after the start because if I've played with Dramacydle at all, it was a short lived Warhammer 40K game, I think.
  19. The Stargate campaign was a long one. With numerous PC switches. Then there was the quickie A-team game via Discord for the COVID era Mythweavers Meet up, if Memory serves. But, this campaign might have been underway already?
  20. One of the mysteries we have yet to unravel is how magic works in this setting. Maybe we do need one more visit to the chamber. We could also ask why the dead don't stay dead. We are mid-summer now correct? Based on the last winter onset (which was tough as I recall) how many months does Karadoon think we have before venturing out would be too dangerous for our tropically acclimated characters?
  21. I think we started that game just prior to COVID, but I can't be sure because OGMW is not taking my old login. I probably forgot the password. But I've been gaming on the weave with Eric and that circle of friends since 2018 I think. That game has taken some long hiatuses. As did our Stargate game prior to it.
  22. Karadoon Karadoon stood a bit straighter and looked eastward. "The closest of those cities is three hundred miles away, and it is a dead city. The Maliente cities are 500 miles and more. That's an undertaking that requires planning, supplies, maybe even a few scouting trips to find the best routes east... I'm of a mind to warn the rest and debate how to proceed while we do that. Mayhap, moving up the river by boat will be a better choice." Weapon - Combat statsBAB +1 Extra +1 (Brother Koji spell effect) Cutter: +2War Axe D6/D8 (1h/2h)
  23. This would have been great for old man Hinson. The logical part of my mind desires some sort of reason why this would not have been active from character creation. Could we re-skin this to something in your make up let's you develop this ability with intense mental training? It definitely looks like it would help us even the odds.
