Appearance
Nolan is a big guy, tall and muscular, with sun-kissed skin, dark brown eyes, and shaggy black hair with side-swept bangs. He's got a bit of a Hollywood-traditional chiseled face, a perpetual cocky grin, and a nose that's crooked from having been broken in the past. He’s pretty much always wearing variants of the same outfit: Jeans, a T-shirt, and a jacket, currently an unzipped blue varsity jacket.
As Code Red he wears a simple padded red cotton suit and a mask resembling skier's goggles which covers his eyes.
Personality
Nolan doesn't seem worried about anything, brushing off fear with a shrug and a laidback smile. His confidence has only increased since he gained superpowers, to the point where he's developed a reckless streak, taunting foes and charging into danger with nary a care. He used to be interested in sports, and still is a little, but the rush he got from that he gets from superheroics nowadays.
His confidence isn't a mask, but for a guy who acts like he doesn't care about anything, he can be surprisingly caring towards others. He's careful not to pick on people weaker than him, and even tries to help out other students if they seem to be having a rough time.
Background
Nolan's early years were rough; he doesn't remember his mother at all, and his father was always trying to "Toughen him up" or "Teach him a Lesson" with his fists and cruel words. Child Services eventually figured out what was going and pulled Nolan out of there, but by that point he was already a sullen, angry kid with a tendency to get into fights. He bounced from foster home to foster home for about a year, until finally he was taken in by the Booth family. Their kindness and patience were seemingly endless, and they were somehow able to get Nolan to open up to them. Slowly, he grew kinder and happier, going from a future bully into a carefree wisecracker.
Nolan's life has been normal since then, up until he joined the school's football team at the start of his sophomore year. Secretly, his School's Football Coach had made a deal with the School's doctor (Secretly a Mad Scientist seeking to push human potential) whereby the latter would supply the football team with steroid-esque super-drugs. When Nolan found out, his "Hell no" reaction made him a liability; Nolan was kidnapped and brought to the Mad Doctor's hidden laboratory, where he was used as a lab rat for the Doctor's experiments. Unfortunately for the Doctor, one of their experiments worked too well, granting Nolan enhanced strength, senses and the ability to fly. With his new found strength, Nolan was able to break out of his restraints. The ensuing battle with the Doctor's other experiments was big enough to get the attention of the Freedom League, ensuring the Mad Scientist's arrest. A few days after that incident, Nolan was offered admission to Claremont High.
Complications
Motivation - Thrills
... Nolan loves his powers, the adventures they allow him to take part in, and the rush he gets during battles.
Motivation - Acceptance
... On some level, Nolan is still trying to prove to the people he cares about that he's not the brute he could have been. It's that drives him to use powers responsibly.
Relationships
... Because of all the kindness they've shown them, Nolan cares greatly for the entire Booth family.
Identity
... Nolan doesn’t much care about keeping his identity secret…except for all the trouble revealing his name to the public would lead to (For him and the Booth Family), so he plays along with the whole secret ID thing for now.
