  1. I picked up Pokérole and I really love the system. I generally struggle learning new systems but I managed to pick up the basics for it after a while. I was thinking of creating a Mystery Dungeon campaign where the players are, per the usual, isekaied to a world full of nothing but Pokémon. You would start out with one (your main PC, a reflection of your character's soul) but the roster grows as you recruit other mons and help them out with their problems. Already made a private game where I'm currently building everything but I wanted to gauge interest before I continued further.
  2. Before I got into AI images, I would just look online for anything I could find. Then one of my players suggested Midjourney. Haven't really looked back since. As with most AI, it's not perfect but you'll get a diamond in the rough every now and then. I was having trouble coming up with my halfling archivist and the aforementioned player did this for me in mere minutes. I thought it looked great for what it was. Big image
  3. I'm a little bit of both, if I'm being honest. Various characters from media inspired my characters and some are even composite. One of my more prominent 3.5/Pathfinder NPCs is an artificer inspired by the main protagonist of Girl Genius who fights like Johnny Cage from the MK series.. Then I make up one-shot NPCs like Elbow Racho, a traveling monk who hands out recipes to his finest brew if the PCs beat him in a drinking contest. My campaigns tend to be a mix of drama and comedy.
  4. I was just browsing and came across this, and honestly I haven't seen things from this perspective until now. Writing something that actually happened to you feels less of a cliché 😄 I had an idea for a novel that's been sitting in my head for a decade now. I've actually tried to write it out but looking back on it all it was was just a bunch of cool ideas I thought I had and compressed them as much as I could. Fell into a writer's block and eventually gave up on it after I discovered TTRPGs, and just thought I should incorporate this idea as a campaign instead. I found that while it's hard to come up with ideas, I'm pretty good at improvising when push comes to shove and I'm forced to come up with something on the spot, no matter how dumb I initially think it is. I tried writing again on and off, but it never worked out. Recently, after 10 years, I decided to revisit the idea of writing again and try to fully commit to it. So here goes.
  5. I know it's an old thread but I want to say thanks as well. Managed to find a template for a sheet I wanted and after some work I managed to make it work thanks to you.
  6. I discovered Man with a Mission when I started watching the Log Horizon anime back in 2015. I'd listen to songs as they released and one of the ones I return to is Dog Days. It just helps me feel better whenever I'm having a crap day for some reason. https://youtu.be/2wEs4jsv9gc
  7. One or two is my limit depending on how much I have fleshed out as I tend to burn out a lot faster if more work is piled on top of my weekly live games. Currently planning a Pokerole campaign for some friends and plan to make time for a second game since the system is so easy.

    AI

I've been using AI images with Midjourney and so far it's hit and miss. 60:40 ratio, I'd say. I definitely like it but not everyone shares my enthusiasm so I had to make my own Discord server for my campaign setting. Worth it. Personally, I use it for character portraits. You'll find a bunch of tiny flaws if you take the time to look at them, but I end up turning them into tokens for Roll20, anyway which brings those portraits close to perfection when you're only focused on the face. It has given my campaign some semblance of life and I'm more open to exploring what else it can do. There comes a point where it'll regurgitate the same images no matter how many different rerolls and prompts you use. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and plan to commission one of my players for actual portraits once I have enough references and money. But if you want something decent for the price given, I'd recommend Midjourney for sure.
  9. Pathfinder/3.5e GM, Pokemon Champion of Hoenn, Unova, and Alola, Namekian main on Xenoverse, Warrior of Light and champion of Hydaelyn, and a survivor evolved. I've taken a hiatus but have returned to the Weave, and decided to start over on Baldr and settle in. My mission now is to introduce people to the world of Pokerole as I'm still burned out on Pathfinder pbp games for the time being.
