  1. Name: BUDD-E Level: 5 Race: Autognome Hit Points: 38 Class: Cleric (Peace Domain) Armor Class: 16 (armored casing + shield) Background: Astral Drifter Alignment: Neutral Good History Created by the evil gnome wizard Felpos Fapplerock to destroy his enemies, BUDD-E (originally KRUSH-R) liked neither his treatment nor his duties. When a glitch in his programming gave him autonomy, he hightailed it out of Felpos' tower and began drifiting through Astral Space seeking a purpose for his new independence. In his travels he encountered the goddess Iallanis who inspired him to pursue a path of peace and harmony, seeking to ease conflict where possible and to defend those of goodwill when not.
  2. Oops, sorry, I thought that I had started a thread for this game earlier but for some reason didn't see it when I came back. I just found it below. I'll use the stat lines from that thread (or the point buy) since they're not nearly as good as what I rolled here.... Are we allowed to use the Tasha's rule about applying our racial ASI to non-standard stats?
  3. Yeah, because it's from the book and was part of the sample character, I assumed Witchlight Hand was available. It does seem to run counter to the premise. If it's not allowed, and maybe even if it is, I had another notion, that he was lost by his child and brought to life by the carnival and then went looking for the child in the larger world. Hearing that the carnival is back, he's returned looking for answers.
  4. Basic Information Name: Sebastian Age: 8 years Race: Living Puppet (Warforged) Class: Monk Subclass: Way of the Marionette (Drunken Master) Background: Witchlight Hand Alignment: Neutral Good Level: 1 Personality Traits: Wherever I go, I try to bring a little of the warmth and tranquility of home with me. I have never lost my childlike sense of wonder. Ideals: Empathy. No creature should be made to suffer. (Good) Friendship. I never leave a friend behind. (Good) Bonds: A trusted friend is the most important thing in the multiverse to me. I feel indebted to Mister Witch and Mister Light for giving me a home and a purpose. Flaws: I easily lose track of time. My poor sense of time means I'm always late. Languages Common Gnomish Sylvan Lost Item Hush now...That is a secret. Description Backstory Once upon a time, this warforged was left broken and discarded in the forest. The Witchlight Carnival found her and repaired her body. In return for their services, she works as a Witchlight Hand to this day. She has proven herself to be a stunning performer when it comes to singing and dancing. But, her memories are as shattered and fragmented as her body once was... Ah, but this story is not about her. This story is about you. You can write a long or a short backstory as you need. But be sure to hide secrets in Private Text boxes, okay? SENTRY'S REST: When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal. INTEGRATED PROTECTION == You gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class. == You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you must remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way. While you live, your armor can't be removed from your body against your will. SPECIALIZED DESIGN == Skill Proficiency: Perception == Tool Proficiency: ? UNARMORED DEFENSE: While you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier. MARTIAL ARTS == You can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls of your unarmed strikes and monk weapons. == You can roll a d4 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike or monk weapon. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table. == When you use the Attack action with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon on your turn, you can make one unarmed strike as a bonus action. For example, if you take the Attack action and attack with a quarterstaff, you can also make an unarmed strike as a bonus action, assuming you haven't already taken a bonus action this turn.
  5. Ha. Hadn't really looked at the sample yet, but it seems so. Back story is sort of similar too. I was thinking he was left by his child (possibly his lost thing) at the carnival as a toy and the carnival's magic brought him to life and he's been working as a hand since.
  6. Would a warforged skinned as a puppet be alright? I'm thinking of making him a drunken master monk, but instead of imitating inebriation he uses jerky marionette style movements to make his technique unpredictable.
  7. Ah, thanks. Was thinking of his other game where you get a feat if your background doesn't provide one because some of the setting ones do....

  13. Did a rather complicated roll (post is ). Unless I'm missing something it doesn't seem to parse. First, there are 31 rolls. With 4d6 rolled 4 times it seems like there should be 24 -- 26 because there were two 1s to be re-rolled. The dice were reported as: 6,5,4,5,5,6,5,5,5,6,4,4,4,6,2,1,3,2,3,3,4,1,6,3,4,6,6,2,3,3,4 Tallied as: 16. 16. 14. 10, 16, 10 The rule was: Heroic Stats:repeat(drop(reroll(4d6,1,below),lowest),6) Breaking it down, it looks like it should be: 6,5,4,5 = 16 5,6,5,5 = 16 5,6,4,4 = 15 4,6,2,1,3 = 13 2,3,3,4 =10 1,6,3,4,6 = 16 6,2,3,3,4 = left over? Am I not interpreting the results properly? I did another experiment to see if maybe leaving out a value for the continue was the culprit: roll:drop(reroll(4d6,1,below,6),lowest) => 4,1,2,2,4,5 => 11 which again seems like too many dice.
