  1. Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to be sitting out for a couple of weeks. I'm currently working on obtaining a certification that's important for advancing my career, and I unfortunately haven't had the spare time (or energy) left to do recreational things. I apologize for not being very responsive or present, especially considering this is a PBP game. Once I've taken the test and gotten the cert, I'll be able to rejoin and reply more promptly.
  2. Allan Rodriguez Allan points out the balding man. "Uhh, guys? I think the bald guy is doing something."
  3. I am so sorry for disappearing for several days. I went to visit a family friend in Maine for the eclipse, and my cell service was effectively non-existent over there. They also did not have wifi. I'll post again tomorrow, and don't hesitate to post an update if you get online before I do.
  4. Allan Rodriguez Allan relays the results of his search to the crew. "We should be careful. Those guys seem suspicious."
  5. Allan Rodriguez Allan finally looks up from his phone. He grabs a small handful of peanuts and begins to search his environment for clues, remaining in a seated position. He attempts to make use of his skills in mindfulness to filter out unnecessary distractions and observe the more subtle details present. Power Tags: Meditation, Retaining a Level Head Investigation > Why did the hooded man target The Washboard? > Is there anyone here who would want to stop us?
  6. Sounds good! To investigate the scene, I just want to look around and see if there's anything interesting that I observe. I want to apply Meditation and Retaining a Level Head to filter out unnecessary distractions and try to take notice the subtle things that could be going around Allan. Is this valid, and if so, do I just roll 2d6+2?
  7. Thank you, everyone, for the kind words, and thanks for the offer to npc Allan. I'll probably be good to keep posting now.
  8. Hey, sorry I didn't say anything sooner, but I am unable to post today and tomorrow, and probably not Saturday either (for me, it's 11 PM Thursday at the time of writing). Sadly, my childhood pet needs to be put down, and it is a long drive to the place we're burying him. I am not going to have the emotional or physical energy to do much. You can continue without me, and you can just assume that Allan is silently observing whatever's happening. I will be active again by Sunday.
  9. Allan Rodriguez Allan smiles at the bouncer before receiving a notification on his phone for the Bancrofts tip. He is currently reading it.
  10. Allan has no questions to ask. I'm good with any method of moving forward with the investigation, but talking to witnesses and staying in groups is my preference.
  11. Allan Rodriguez "I'm going to have to agree with Theo. Based on the fact that he was having angry words with the victim in incident 1 and that the victim in incident 3 was already saddened by the death of his son, his power does not appear to extend to creating these emotions from nothing. He has to induce them in someone without his powers, or they need to already be feeling something for a different reason. Should we come face-to-face with him, we must not let him make us feel anything - scared, angry, sad, or possibly even joyous emotions depending on the details of his power works. I don't know what mind games he'll want to play, but engaging in them could be the death of us." Allan takes a breath. "We need to start tracking him down now. We can't let more innocent people die."
  12. Allan takes a moment to process this information. He has a heavily concerned look on his face. "I'm going to be totally honest. I don't know if I can do this one. Assuming this isn't some sort of elaborate rouse, it sounds like this guy can off somebody just by being in their presence. He doesn't even need to touch them. My ability hinges entirely on being able to make contact with people." He pauses to take a sip of tea, activates a confident demeanor, and continues "...However, I am striving for excellence, and I won't get anywhere by backing down from a challenge. I trust my comrades here, and I think we could take on just about anything with enough teamwork. Plus, this is important, and if we don't do it, who will? Count me in."
