Shocker Posted October 6, 2023 Clone Share Posted October 6, 2023 Not an overly big fan of the spooky genre, but I find cabin im the woods a very well made movie. Taking on the tropes head in without being a comedy or ridiculous.

Roughtrade Posted October 6, 2023 Clone Share Posted October 6, 2023 Veronica Lake, looking like the definition of the word "dishy", as a mischievous witch. Really more entertaining that it should have been. Addendum: According to Triva, Ms Lake disliked her co-star So, for a scene where he was supposed to carry her Ms Lake filled her pockets with 50 pounds of weight. A few years ago I did a blog series reviewing a horror movie every night of October I called Spooktober. Covered a wide range of horror films, with Crimson Peak coming out on my birthday that year so it got a review in kind. My horror faves are The Thing (a perfect film), Bram Stoker's Dracula, Hellraiser (honorable mention to Hellbound: H2), The Taking of Deborah Logan, The Last Exorcism, the VVitch, Night of the Living Dead and Day of the Dead (the Romero films), and a healthy dose of folk horror, starting with the OG Wicker Man. Ah, you are well-versed in the classics, I see.

cailano Posted October 12, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted October 12, 2023 I remember liking Silver Bullet when it came out, but I was like... 12 or so. Hard to trust my pre-adult opinions. Time for a re-watch!
